  1. Sub box still for sale? Subs still for sale?
  2. I saw a used radix go on ebay for $3,800 about a month ago with 25k miles on it. I bought mine on here in the classifieds for slightly less. Just keep your eyes open, have cash on hand and when you see one, dont be afraid to make a fair offer and close the deal. Mine was on the market for about 2 hours and I didnt low ball him or "wait" to see what happened.
  3. Looks like a good deal, but I dont know if I would trust the seller? Shaky history, feedback and says multiple times, slow shipping and lots of confusion. I would only do it if you could physically see the product first and pick it up by paying in person. As far as working on the SSS, yes it will, however, you will have to send in the FMU to whipple to programmed correctly and if I remember, it isnt cheap. I looked at a whipple before buying the radix used here in the classifieds. I also remember something about whipple wants you to do...can't remember what it is though. I guess if you can get it for less than $2k, and its the only way to afford Forced induction, its better than N/A or nothing at all.
  4. I went with the pace setters and magnaflow cats. Teh headers were like $420 shipped? The cats were $120 for both from Summit Racing (13" long with 3" inlet/outlet). I had a shop custom install the headers, weld some piping in, and strategically place the cats and relocate the O2 sensors for about $300. They sound awesome and I have no leaks, issues. So figure you go with the dynatechs at $1300-1400 shipped depending on where you get them, then have them coated (pace setters are coated already) for another $200+, you're out $1500+. Pay some one to put them on and you are at another $200 on average. My setup was about $840 altogether.
  5. Not to mention with high octane, alot of it is leaded race fuel, lead will kill O2 sensors in a couple of tanks and could damage injectors. I run 110octane in my 1978 camaro...nice boost with increase in timing.
  6. OK...Installation is compelte and these thigns sound Awesome. No leaks, have the cats in with sensors! They did a good job except for some of the welds I thought were just a little sloppy, but who cares, no one ever looks under there anyways. I have pics coming soon.
  7. HAve you checked the trans fluid levels? too much or too little can cause that from a dead stop. Also, did you ever change the converter? If you don't get the proper fill into the converter when installed, it can cause problems. Id on't think the servo is causing the issue from what I understand about these trannies.
  8. Yeah...in retrospect to my post...don't try it like me all in one shot. It has been a headache and nightmare trying to coordinate everything. I have even been strining along Frank from revolution race works and zippy for the tuning sinc eI got the blower three weeks ago. Its killing me seeing the unit in my garage sitting in the box instead of in my truck. But at least the headers will be done by tomorrow morning and hopefully i will have the torque converter by mid week.
  9. Alot of places haven't because they are hung up on the garbage flowmaster produces and the marketing they employ. Flowmaster markets through all sorts of exhaust shops, commercials, and other propaganda. Corsa is also three times the cost in most cases. But after showing how easy the installation is and the quality, it sells everyone on it.
  10. Yeah. I understand. I did a flow calculation back in college when i was going for mech. eng. degree and the actual increased flow showed like 2hp or something on a 350ci average motor. The bototme line is everyone should go with makes them happy and comfortable. I bet if you took the same truck and put your exaust from the headers back vs. some of the high flow stuff out there like borla, corsa, magnaflow...the quarter mile times would all come in with in a .05-.07 hundreths of each other in same conidtions.
  11. The corsa funnels two 2.5" into one 3" pipe...not much flow lost there. SS-Blown runs a radix, dynomax headers into a corsa and cans till pop high 12's. With an exhaust change I might pick 3-5hp? I already dropped the coin on the Corsa. The corsa system outflows flowmaster and the magnaflow system on another car. I would have to try to dig up that info.
  12. Started the install this afternoon. I am helping some guys at a local install it. Removing the stock manifolds and bolting up the new headers only took about an hour or so. Really simple with air tools and a lift. Ther eis no reason these can be swapped out in about 30 minutes now that we have done it. We didnt have to remove the steering shaft to get to any bolts. We cut the original cats out and unbolted teh remaining pipes from the Corsa cat back I have on. The biggest problem so far is the custom pipe work. I went to summit racing and bought some high flow cats...only problem is they are much larger in diameter and we are working with larger piping than the stock. I bought the 13" long high flow magnaflow universal cats. The high flow cat slips right over the header flange on the passenger side header. We are going to run a pipe from that to the male end of the Corsa system on the passenger side. The corsa system has two inlet pipes funneled into one pipe then into the muffler. A problem is that we are running out of room to squeeze the drivers side pipe through the opening between the frame, trans and trans cross member. The cat from the passenger side takes up alot of room there. We also need to get some tight bends and they didnt have the right sized tubing in stock to complete the job properly. We slipped an extension over the drivers side header flange/collector and added a 90degree elbow and then another cat. From there is the issue where the complicated bending comes in. It looks nice so far and I think when it is done, it will look awesome. We also have to weld in the O2 sensor bungs and then its a wrap. We are holding off until monday to finish the project at which time I will get some pictures of the finished project and post them.
  13. get a converter in there and high 12's are in your sights.
  14. I just cut that clamp off with a torch! Easy as pie...things are easier when you have a lift and tools.
  15. Dam good eyes Ben. I didn't even take a close look. Once you zoom in, you see the 4L80E markings. I hope the guy doesn't send out the trans as a 4L80E when the auction says 4L65E. He has some good ratings...like 8...lol...I'm not going to be the guinea pig...
  16. The powerdyne is great if you want a mid 13s truck. You need to ask yourself how much you want to spend. I bought a used radix for $3300 and I am still going to be over $6k when everything is all said and done. Radix- $3300 (used) Pace Setter Headers - $475(new) High flow Cats - $120(new) Trans cooler - $60(new) Corsa Exhaust - $662(new) Outlaw Intake - $200 (used) Yank Torque converter - $425(new) Planning on Zippy tune once everything is installed - $400? Zippy shift kit coming soon - $200(new) HP Tuners kit - $500(new) Radix install - $500 Trans stuff install - $500+ So with all of that I am at $7,300-$7,400. My budget was $6k...see how easy it is to get out of control? LOL. You could go with the Powerdyne and be out for $4k with install and some creative cost cutting on headers, tran etc. I could have saved on getting a Trailblazer converter and shorty headers, but why cut corners in this stage in the game. I wish I had $4k more for a built trans.
  17. Yeah...I noticed that to just recently. He has good feedback for like 8 transmissions...plus I am also thinking, how good is a lifetime warranty if this guy decides to go out of business...I am seriously thinking of trying to find a good trans shop/builder and just buy the parts and have it custom done. I just can't jusitfy the $3500 expense for a gearstar trans. I guess I will take my chances with the stocker and cross my fingers.
  18. Awesome system isnt it? The gurgle sound it normal. The truck sounds sick at WOT...lol. Go find a nice parking garage or tunnel and rev it to 5k rpm's a few times with the windows down...you will smile!
  19. Do a search for 4L65E 550hp It's purple in color and by g-mentransmissions It should come up then... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4L65E-550hp...1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. What do you guys think? Not bad for a lifetime warranty for $400 extra. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4L65E-550hp...1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. Can you still tow with this kit? What would I need to make it work on my SSS? How much are they new?
  22. 8 psi is alot for a non-intercooled unit. You would also want headers, exhaust work, and a very good custom tune to get the most out of it. You will have to ditch the Volant because as far as I know, the powerdyne units use a cone filter in most applications? $2k is a great price for the powerdyne unit. you should expect maybe 90-100hp at the wheels with a powerdyne unit and mid to low 13 sec passes. This is all speculation because I am still fairly new and still don't have my blower installed yet, but I have years of experience with forced induction.
  23. Thanks, you just saved me $400 Krambo. I fgured if it was necessary, some of you guys would be running them. The only person I know on here that has a $900 converter is SS-blown and he blew his converter into his trans...ooops...I guess he went a different route as well now.
  24. I spoke with Yank about a converter for my supercharged SSS. They told me I needed to run the SC3000 behind a supercharger and it comes with a 2 year warranty. They said the TT2600 will work, but probably won't hold up because it does not have the special strators? and anti-ballooning plate? like the SC3000. He said I would also be able to tow with it as well. Obviously the price difference is $400. Is anyone running this converter? I know Holty is running the TT2600 and seems to be pretty happy with it, but I also know of other trannies that have blown because of cheap converters.
  25. Zippy, Frank and I are supposed to do my radix install in the next week or two. I would be willing to sell what I don't anymore. Let me know. Thanks.
