  1. that should be a good stall for a turbo, your truck is going to be pretty badass when you boost it, to bad for this truck I have now cuz it wont see boost in its future, and power mods are already done. Going to be giving it to my lil bro once i pay it off which will be in a few months or so. Hes only 14 so I dont want him to have to much power under his foot for his first truck and most definatly dont want to be the cause of an accident. truck gets pretty loose already! But dont get me wrong doesnt mean for me that my next truck wont have some power mods. My next truck I plan to throw on a good size turbo and go the parish route with a 4x4 regular cab short bed truck. Iv been looking at some 09 regular cab short bed GMC Sierra 4x4's for a while and I think that would be a good foundation for the project iv been looking to build for some time now. Only time will tell.....
  2. Yeah im running the 93 street tune from Nelson Performance, but iv always ran 93 in my truck. What kind of stall are you going to get and how high, right now im having some problems with my tranny when i gun it anywhere under 30, it either the first gear bands are slipping or the converter is slipping a lil cant really tell. just revs up kinda high and then kicks in. during normal driving its fine just at wot under 30 is when it acts up.
  3. I got the fans from Advance auto parts there about $80 a piece after tax but if I wanted to I could have waited and got the 05 electric fans and they would have bolted right up. My buddy at the dealership didnt have them in stock so I didnt feel like waiting a couple of weeks for them. The fans I got are pretty good quality so far I havnt got even close to over heating with them or have had any problems with them, they work really well for my truck espacially since I have the 160 thermo. Id say all of it combined I paid around $270 including all the wiring and the relay and misc stuff. Actuall price would have been alot more, I think the radiator runs around $300 from the dealer but im sure if you check ebay or a yard around you you cold get it cheaper. The truck runs alot better then it did stock, I ran a regular cab hemi and beat him pretty good about 2 trucks. I juss got my Volant intake in today so now I got well rounded truck for now. Iv been looking at that Harris Speed Works nitrous plate kit for a while and I just might have to order it in the near future when I get used to what I got now.......Damn that power bug!!!
  4. Yeah I ordered the longer ones by accident. I ordered them from Texas Speed & Performance and I didnt notice it right away but I had clicked the first one on the list which are the longer ones. I really dont know why they would sell a long and a short kit but oh well. There only a few more inches longer then my old Callaway wires they replaced and they really dont rub up or touch anything so im not too worried about them. But I thought the same thing when I first saw them.
  5. Alright here are some pic's and a lil video of the progress........... Video
  6. CAI, Long tubes, Cat back, Tune, That should get you moving a lil better.
  7. That kinda sucks I was hoping for 7.0 or at least a supercharger...... oh well guess cant have it all. Right now the 08's are going for cheap down here around 30k brand new. If the 09's are not going to change much then ill just look into an 08. Close to paying the truck off so looking for a newer ride. If i was able to build a dream truck it would be a 08 body style GMC Sierra White with the 6.2 and the 6 speed, supercharged and crew cab with the factory 20's. Since all that is becoming available maybe ill have a nice GMC in the near future.......
  8. I got the long tubes from Texas Speed and performance. I got the radiator from my buddy who works at the dealership for $100, hes the parts manager so he gets parts really cheap. I also got my turn signal mirrors and 06 tail lights from him also.
  9. Well been awhile since I posted up the status of how my trucks going along. I got my ceramic coated pacesetters and y-pipe in today. Yestersday morning I installed the 34" HD radiator with better bigger dual electric fans. The pics are from my phone but ill get better ones up asap when I start installing the headers tomarrow morning. Oh and I also got my Nelson tune in last week so as soon as i get all this put in im gunna try to set up a day to go to San Antonio and see what the truck runs at the track. Ill keep you all posted.

  11. Sounds mean, right now im saving up for the Texas speed 220 220 cam with a 113 lsa. Hopfully it sounds that good.
  12. Not saying that no one on this site is capable of giving you the answers to what you ask but check out ls1truck.com, Alot of people there have done swaps like that. I think they can give you a better perspective of what you are trying to do and all the things you are going to have to do to get a 5.3l or 6.0l in your truck.
  13. Damn man your truck looks and sounds awsome, what are the specs on the cam?
  14. I had the push button start on my last truck was pretty easy to set up just had it wired to the starter relay and the ignition on wire. You still had to put the key in and put it to the on position and then push the button, and to shut it off you just turn the key back. Now to do what you are talking about idk I think the TRD's and other like it its hooked up to the ecm and the ecm gives out the on/off signal. But tottally not sure ill look it up pretty interested on how it could work.
  15. Just wondering if anyone knew what setup the 09 Sierra Denali's are going to be coming with? The regular 09 1500's are coming out with the option to have the 6l80e and the 6.2L so I dought GM would leave the Denali's and Escalades with the same setup. Maybe they will add a supercharger at least or maybe even a 7.0L would be nice . Anyways if anyone has info post up im really interested to see whats gunna be coming out for these trucks, only way to go is up and that means more power!
  16. All depends on the way your front suspension is set up. Torsion Bar or Spring. If its got Spring suspension then you wont be able to swap to either AWD or 4WD. More then likely since your truck is a Vortec Max is will have torsion bars, in that case you could get an AWD or a 4wd set up, seeing that your truck is a 2wd it would be easier to get an AWD transfer case rather then getting the selectable 4wd case, only because so you wont have to worry about all the wiring and electrical stuff that makes the 4wd transfer case selectable. Dont get me wrong though your still gunna need alot of parts to make it AWD and to get it to work properly. I say go to a junk yard somwhere and get a wrecked truck and get parts off of it. That would be the easiest by far.
  17. Looks clean iv been wanting to see what they look like on our body style trucks. I was deciding on either those wheels or the VHO wheels, anyways tho looks clean bro lot of hard work when into that truck im sure.
  18. Ill trade you my stock 16's if your interested
  19. Damn man really sorry to here that your losing the truck, but hey you can always find another truck make sure you and your family get everything they need first these trucks are bad ass and yeah im attached to my truck like you are to yours but your fam comes first man, dont worry tho another truck will find you, usually after things like this you will come back better then ever.......hope for the best for you man good luck
  20. Does anyone know if the two radiators can swap out? my 01 5.3 truck came with a 27 inch radiator and I want to install the newer 34 Inch because I want to put the stock 05 up electric fans on.
  21. Bad Ass looks real good! How much did you pay for it? were did you order it from?
