  1. So have we decided if were meeting somewhere? If so, where and what time. I bet if we get there by 6:00-6:30, we should be able to all park together. Anyone else showing up? Supposed to be pretty nice, high 80's. No rain predicted so far....
  2. I just installed a Flowmaster 50 series SUV dual in dual out, with the tails angled out the back behind the tires. I love it, perfect sound. There is a little bit of droaning at 2000 rpm, other than that, not much droan than I had with the stock exhaust. I would say that it has (and I know im going to get beat for this) a very, very subtle Mustang sound to it Ok, I'll take my beatings now...
  3. Sounds sweet....So by what RPM do you see the P1 coming on, vs the D1?? Im assuming on a stock 6.0 that a person with a P1 would benefit by a stall, maybe in the 2500 range?? Or, with going to a D1, can you get by without the stall, because it's coming in earlier?? No kidding Drako, a tranny in the kit would be nice.... Stiff1 and Wizard: What mods to the tranny do you have and have you had any problems with the tranny or the SC??
  4. So are you saying that off the line, the D1 will come into boost sooner than the P1? That is what im having a hard time deciding between- Radix, because of the off line power or the procharger. I like the idea of the procharger, because my truck is warrantied until 75,000 miles. If something happens to the engine or tranny, my thinking is the procharger setup would be alot easier to un-install within a few hours, compared to the Radix. Im only guessing here, but I assume I could un-install the head unit, piping and intercooler and basically appear non-molested to a GM service center. Is this right ? Edit: If we chose a D1 for the SS, would it require any additional mods to the engine compared to going with the P1, ie: lower comp ratio, fuel pump(s) etc?
  5. None around here that I know of. I have a N2O system hiding in my garage that *could* get installed some day, but I really want an STS turbo system... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah a STS would be pretty sweet. Hopefully some more people will show up. I've seen alot of SS's around Des Moines, but doubt very many are on this board (maybe don't even know about it)
  6. We have alot of it here also, being deemed the meth capitol of the U.S. Alot of those retards go out to farmers fields and use a garden hose on a large anhydrous spray tank in the field and syphon some out. Their trick around here is to modify a propane tank (off a gas grille) and load it up with anhydrous. My friends brother was a unfortunate victim of meth. He got involved in making a mobile meth lab in his mom's van. A buddy would drive them out to local gas stations, drug stores, etc- Buy a few hundred pseudoephedrine tablets, some lithium batteries, filters, etc.....Steal some anhyrous from a farmers spray tank, then take off driving down country roads and he would cook this crap in the truck while they were driving around!!! Guess they did'nt realize the reason why the brass fittings on the propane tank turning a green color meant all sorts of trouble. One night they were out making this crap, and the propane tank decided to rupture at the valve (anhydrous and brass fittings don't mix) while he was holding it between his legs Needless to say that it fried his family jewels and other important parts, while creating a gas inside the vehicle, causing both to inhale it, partially freeze their lungs, making his buddy loose control of the van and run off the road, rolling the vehicle and totaling it out. Now is meth dangerous? Yeah you could say that. Does it make you a freaking retard?? It must, because once they got out of the hospital, they started again until getting caught. Now their both in the clink for a very long time ....
  7. I purchased my '03 SS in May of this year, 29,000 mi and had On-star and XM radio for $24,000. Plus I get free factory replacement tires when they need replacing for as long as I own the vehicle (dealer promotion). You may want to look on this site, as there are several nice SS's for sale at just about anytime. And keep checking the website, there is so much information on these trucks here and plenty of helpfull people Good Luck !!
  8. Anyone have a Radix'd or ATI powered truck coming to Porkeys ??? Would like to take a peek at that and maybe bend their ear with some tech questions...
  9. Count me in! should we meet somewhere before hand and all pull in together? just a thought. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Count me in. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Yeah that sounds like a good idea on meeting up first. Where at, Merle Hay Mall, like at 5:30-5:45 ??
  10. How about Wednesday, August the 9th at Porkey's then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah that will work for me...Fast are you available? Also should we make a post on the events forum, in case anyone else wants to go??
  11. Porkeys sounds good to me. Im usually up there every Weds night. It has been getting pretty jammed there by 6pm or so. I've had the SS in there a couple times and usually get a few people looking and asking questions. Im open pretty much any weds with the exception of this week.
  12. Sweet looking truck and system fast !!! Wish I could have made the show to see it in person (by the way, if anyone from D.M. area gets together, let me know) Jason
  13. Hey I just noticed this...Did I miss the get together ??
  14. Got the muffler today. Sounds great, ran 2 tails at 45 deg out the back. I have noticed a loss of some of the low end power. That kinda sucks. Guess I'll have to do the E-fans and t-stat next. Hopefully that will help a little.
  15. Do you remember what part # was for your Flowmaster ??
  16. Thanks Sgt !! That is exactly what im looking for Sounds awesome !!! NTMID8R-I bet it does sound BAD AZZ. Not sure if I can go that route though, the wife may not care for that, ha ha....
  17. Another game that is similar, except a helluva lot funier !!! Kitty Cannon
  18. Ben Here is a question for you...I am fairly new to the tuning concept, as far as tuning a computer for these trucks. This is my second truck with a mail order tune from one of the "major" tuners out there. I have a 91 octane tune now. It did make a difference in how the truck runs, for the better. But the more that I read on here, the more Im interested in learning what KR is, what is normal, what is not, what is best, and all the other important information... With only the tune on my truck, running at a 1/8th mile track I ran a best of 9.70. Im thinking the truck can run better than that, but moreso, Im concerned what exactly is happening to the engine with a tune like that?? So I guess my question is, where can a person learn what all the paramaters are in tuning, so we understand what is REALLY going on in the engine. I mean, if someone said "your KR should never reach "??" reading on your tune, and this is why, that is what im looking for, and probably a good amount of people on here ?? Am I totally in the dark, or just another one of those looking to learn and not knowing where to go EDIT: Sorry if I hijacked this post, but I thought this may be a good place to throw this in
  19. I had the delta flow 50's on my 2500HD and they were kinda annoying. I think that the HD and SUV series flowmasters have a larger case...Was hoping someone here was using them and maybe had a sound clip...
  20. Search the forced induction forum on here. I think that is the only way to go if you want those #'s. That or nitrous. But Im not sure you could get there safely with nitrous only. Good luck....
  21. Im tearing my hair out trying to decide on mufflers for the SS. My last truck had 2 Flowmaster 50 series Delta's on it and I was'nt real happy with them. Does anyone here run the Flowmaster 50 series HD or SUV muffler? If so, what are your opinions on it and the noise factor inside and out. Better yet, a sound clip would be awesome !!! I've listened to the sounds page on Flowmaster, but I know the SS won't sound like that !!!
  22. That's a good price but shipping is STEEP.
  23. That's not a bad price for the Blazer. I had 2 of them years ago, a 81 and a 86. The 305 versions are pretty much a pooch, but the 350's ran great. The older versions if I remember correctly (75-79??) the entire top cam off, even over the driver and passenger. Then the later versions, the top came off the back area only. The body will flex alot when off roading with the top off. My 81 was tweaked enough that the top was a pain to get back on. Im looking for one also for a plow truck. One of the biggest problems I found with them was the rear glass tends to break the track then fall down inside the gate. Good luck!!
  24. I emailed Kenne Bell about a month ago, at that time, they were still working on the intercooler and said it would be sometime this fall before they had it finished. I have a friend who is using their kit on a Mustang and has had no problems since installed, which was January this year. Im waiting for the KB or may look at the new Whipple design.
