Thanks for the info...I bought (2) JL 10W3V2's and new speaker wire today....

Im wanting to install a Alpine 9855 H/U in the SS. I purchased a Pac SWI-ALP for the steering wheel controls. I also have a Metra adaptor out of my '04 Chevy, and am hoping that I can use that for my power/ground instead of running new wire. I will be running 3 sets of RCA's to 2 amps, then new speaker wire from there. I want to bypass the stock amp and sub, but run the Bose speakers off the amps I put in there... Will this work ?? Also I have a Soundstream 4 channel amp and a Alpine V-12 4 channel. I will be using (2) Jl 10W3V2's in a Thunderform enclosure. How do I bridge the amp for more power, then run both Jl's from there??? Sorry, it's been a few years since I've done the stereo gig...Thanks, Jason

Has anyone used MB Quart speakers? Im looking to start off with 2 10" DWG254's Quart subs for my MTX Thunderform enclouse and follow up with the rest of the speakers being replaced later. Im not after how loud it can be, I only want great sound quality!!! Any opinions on your speakers is appreciated !! Also what is everyone's thoughts on replacing the factory speaker wire? Worth it or not? Im replacing the head unit, speakers and adding amps. Not to mention, I would'nt need to buy the expensive PAC adaptors then!! Thanks, Jason

It's been a couple weeks at least now since we the contest was to happen...He's backed out now. Says it was all in fun Course that was after he saw my truck finished. It turned out really nice still, I don't spend nearly the money I did before in the car washes, dirt and bugs come off easily and looks just like it did when I finished the initial application.....

Anyone know where I can get the wiring schematic for the main wire loom that runs from underneath the dash, out to the underhood fuse panel? I've found a wire that is bare in that harness....In case anyone has it available, looks like it's a small gauge (poss 16 or 18) Yellow with white trace...Thanks !!

Im getting a MTX Thunderform sub box for the SS, will hold 2 10's. I have heard that the MTX 4500's blow easily. Does anyone know if the 5500's will fit in there, or any other brand, which would work well? I looked around here on previous threads but did not find much. PS. What is a good online source for stereo's and componets?? Thanks, Jason

Im really looking to get into the 400-450 rwhp range. I also need to be carefull as this is a everyday driver as well. I guess it depends on reliability also. If this HP range is questionable for a everyday driver, than I may go another route and lower my expectations. Check the in-cab fuse panel for any open circuits, with a test light. Otherwise like mentioned above, try the steering column. I want to say there is a large gauge Solid Orange wire under the steering column that is switched ignition, and a 12ga wire...

No, I wish I did know. I had to send the stock computer back before I ran the track.....

I like the looks of the Kenne Bell compared to the Radix (I know, looks are'nt everything) I have heard that customer service may be questionable, but I can't really comment on that, never had to deal with them.

A friend has a Kenne Bell on a mustang and it performs great. I was curious how many people here have the Kenne Bell on their SS, and what their thoughts are on instructions provided, ease of installation, if they've had any problems with the supercharger and how customer service is? I sent them a email the other day asking about the intercooled version. They do not have any hp/tq numbers for it yet, but said it should be finished within 2 months. I like the radix also, but would like to learn more about the Kenne Bell.

Ran the SS at Eddyville last night. Only mods I have so far is a Nelson tune. .1372 Red light 2.2398 60ft. 6.3216 330ft. 9.7126 1/8 73.17 1/8 (Ford Lightning time) .0273 Reaction 1.8982 60ft. 5.5877 330ft. 8.6666 1/8 79.86 1/8 First couple of runs down the track, I had the tow/haul button on, left it in drive and went. Did ok but was only a 9.82. Decided to run the rest of the night with the tow/haul button on and manually shifting. Then it did much better. I did race a Lighting. I knew it would not be that close, that is the times above. Guy was really cool, I stopped to check his truck out in the pits, he was also running nitrous on it as well. So my next plans are the E-fans, thermostat and tranny cooler, and see what the difference is. Not expecting too much just from that.

Now how could razors behind the stereo cause interference.... I kinda like the idea...I can see a partially amputated finger causing interference (from the blood dripping on the connections-corrosion ya know ) but razors would not.... That's true...the way our justice system is today, they probably could sue you for injuring the thief while he is taking your stuff

A friend of mine had his stereos stolen often. His solution: Carefully placed razor blades on the backside of the stereo where the connections are...No more stolen stereo, but a interior with some blood trails one night...After that, no more problem

I've only had my '03 SS for about 3 weeks now, I have a Nelson 91 tune and that is all so far. I will be running 1/8th mile this Friday at Eddyville, so I'll repost this weekend !!!
