  1. Happen to have a # for them? My sister lives in Tulsa so that might actually work out. Also, what intakes do you guys use? I'm using a K&N filter in the stock airbox but I was thinking of ordering my ram air hood and the ram air box and seeing if it helps any.
  2. I check my milage the old fashionway with pen and paper when I fill up. I have 46,000 miles on my truck and live in SW missouri in the Springfield/Branson area.
  3. Sounds like more typical SS flaws, I'v had the following problems: No horn(went in 5+ times) driver seat memory not working Drivers seat would shove you forward into the steering wheel if you touched the window switch transmission wont shift out of second (still have this problem on occasion and they can't get it to do it but luckily its noted and will be covered till i have 150,000 miles) Wiring harness replaced because I lost all power when going down the highway at 65mph (scary shit) no power to my switches or stereo seatbelt light comes on when you turn the wheel to the left tailgate fell off the day after I bought it because the bolts fell out...luckily I was in the office parkinglot but boy was that embarrasing when showing off my new truck to some fellow employees and a vicious vibration when taking curves. I got a lemon and they said the lemon law only applies to the 1st three months of purchase...when I wasn't even driving the truck. After pretty much the entire truck was replaced under warranty *knock on wood* the major problems have seized.
  4. too bad there is nobody in my area that can tune a vehicle if their life depended on it. guess I'll have to deal with it till I go boost and ship the truck to get the install and tune.
  5. My 03 SS Silverado is stock except for a few exterior things and my average MPG is 9-11 (11 once in a blue moon) and all my miles are highway miles and I don't tow with it...I used to get 15-17mpg but in the last year that I'v been driving the SS to the doctor since its my only vehicle the milage and gotten aweful. Any suggestions to improve it or are they all getting milage like this? I know my milage si gonna be like 3-5mpg when I go boost but I expected more while I was stock.
  6. Yea I got the picture from Bonspeed website.
  7. I'll have to get a friend to photoshop it on my truck for me, i never can figure out my photoshop program.
  8. Does anyone make a rollpan that has the ducts cut out in the rear like our front bumpers? I was wanting to have a custom exhaust made with a rollpan that had the same ducts as in the front and have pipes fit in the ducts with heat shields. Does anyone make this or do I need to order some fiberglass?
  9. This is a very different wheel that I'v never seen before and I kinda like it. You can get the part thats red in any color imaginable and the actual wheel comes in polished and gunmetal. That polished and red would look pretty good on my red SS.
  10. lol I want some Canary for my project.
  11. wow nice silverado in those vids. As for the cobra being a 10 sec car, I doubt it, its a crappy driver, running 24inch chrome wheels and street tires but its still faster than my SS is now. (It belongs to a cocky family member) There are no reputable tuner shops near me so as far as what I'll need to get to my goal, I'm gonna have to go buy advise given here, and then hopefully find a shop to ship the truck to.
  12. With that kind of hp goals there are two things you can count on - it will take a lot to get you there, ie the level of modification, and two, it will take quite a few dollars. I would plan on a stroker build to some cubic number of 408 or higher. I would wait and see how the new Magna MP122 turns out and see if it were compatible to put some good boost numbers for the larger motor. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't, but the data is not available yet, and strap that thing on. Of course it would need high flowing heads, big cam, serious exhaust work, etc, etc. Figure out everything to get the 4L80E in your truck. Nothing else will last very long. Neither will the stock motor on high hp numbers like you're planning even if it could get you there. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks, Yea I don't expect this to be cheap, and I doubt 20 grand will put a dent in it so I'll most likely end up burning through most of my savings. I'v always been a car person and wasn't sure if I really wanted to keep this truck but *knock on wood* after the warranty ran out all the stupid problems stopped so I decided I'm going to keep it and I'm going to build one hell of a show truck that has the go to ofset the show. I know alot of people that drive SS's at our local car club think its a bad idea for me to repaint the SS but I like to make my vehicle unique and I'v already picked out some paint for it. From the windows up I'm going to paint black with yellow metalflake and the lower half will be pearle' yellow. I had some black chrome SS emblems made and a black chrome grill ordered and can't wait to get the thing painted and the best time to do it will be when I decide what engine since I'm gonna need the engine out to paint her fully anyways.
  13. My goal is probably 7-800hp and keeping my AWD. But power isn't my main concern...with that kind of power I'm gong to need a great suspension setup. I need to get this truck where it can wipe the floor with a 570whp Cobra that I used to run against and talks shit asking if the SS on my truck stands for Slow Sh!t.
  14. I had to do it upside down because GM has the SS copyrighted, so they said by law I had to do it upside down or use different lettering. it looks good in person but my phone scrunches it and makes it look like a G instead of an S
  15. please excuse the quality, I need to buy a new digital camera so I just used my phone. Not much done to her, just a bedrug, visors, fiberglass tanau, 2 15's under the seat and some custom graphics. She was purchased by me and my father to be a project truck, but after me getting hit headon and totalling out my car and my back she sat for a year. Now that I'v (hopefully) had my last back surgery I'm going to start modding her out since she's gonna replace my show car that was totalled out.
  16. Ok, so in the time I'v been doing research to decide how I want to mod out my SS I'v seen alot of people putting 402 and 408's in their silverado's. Now I'm gonna prepare my flamesuit and ask what is better about them, than the engine in the SS stock? Also, those who are boosting your LS how is it holding up with the boost? I'v heard that they aren't a good motor to run boost through but I dunno wheither to beleive it or not. I don't know alot about motors, but I'm trying to learn more. I build sound systems and never have broadened my creations to going under the hood till now and I'm looking to build a monster and looking for the best way to spend the 20g I have saved up for my truck to do so.
