  1. you never fail to attatch a random image of your truck lmao
  2. wow that looks like a horribley chopped ranger.....all its missing is someone in the background saying "it hops esse!!!!"
  3. ok checked em out. all was installed correctly. but the truck never even left the shop, so nothing is bent or broken. and i purposely hold them when tightening just to keep them perfectly aligned. all i can think of is that the pushrods are barely too long, causing the valves to just sit barely open. im thinking the lifters might be a culprit as well. and the only reason the truck ran so good before was that the cranes are adjustable. sadly i think they are going back on
  4. sorry about the quadurple posts stupid cell phone always does stuff like that. mr p thats what i was thinking, its really the only logical explanation. everything seems to be working right under the VCs. if they were too long, the valves would lift open but never close all the way..... causing my loss of compression
  5. valves cant be bent, truck ran fine into the shop. installed them all by hand, and very carefully. pushrods are all new, stock pushrods. something is really odd here. mr.p: did the compression test. like 6 cylanders valves are open. i feel really lousy today, so i dont feel like messing with it. i should know whats up as soon as i take the coilpacks and vc back off.

  9. no, everything is stock now. i removed all parts of the crane kit, and reinstalled the GM guideplate on each side, then the stock pushrods, then the rockers......
  10. wow there are all sorts of vettes mixed in there..... somebodys vettes got BUCKED lol hey esse, its a CORYOTA
  11. well when i installed my forged bottom end, heads, and cam, i used the 1.8 crane rocker arm kit. got a bigger cam, so i decided to put the stockers back on. well there is no compression, the starter just spins freely. my guess is the valves wont close. so my question is: i switched to the LS2 heads (242 casting, i think) from the truck castings. they are milled to 64.5cc chambers. is it possible that the milled heads arent liking the stock rockers, due to less surface, causing the valves not to shut? i need some sugestions ASAP. thanks
  12. well my eagles fell apart, and after 3 pirellis out of round i gave up on that set. i need a 22 thats as lightweight as it gets, minus HREs and other obvious 3 peice unaffordable choices so any ideas? what does a foose speedster 22" wiegh?
  13. in all honesty it doesnt take very long to lower the tank...... however, i didnt lower mine for the hanger bolt swap. i wedged a block of wood between the frame and the tank, then used a pry bar and just slipped the bolt right out. now THAT is faster
  14. what would the way i removed the hanger bolts have to do with driveline vibration? btw ii bet you can do some sick burnouts with those steelies
  15. you only have to remove the bose amp if you change the amp or speakers. if you are asking just for the stealthbox, it works great with a stock stereo. it does need its own amp tho. 250/1 is perfect for it
  16. i dont know if thats a good idea..... might curve the leaf to an undersirable arch, causing a screwed up spring rate/horrible ride and lots of vibrations
  17. lookin nice.... you didnt have to lower the tank tho
  18. wow that looks great. nice job now lower that pretty hoss
  19. That my friend is called wheel hop. Usually due to to much positive of a pinion angle. If you never hit anything, then you don't have a bent axle. The more neg pinion you have (keeping within the correct pinion angle) the more bite you will have without the effects of wheel hop. Can you explain a bit more on exactly what you are feeling? Is it more of a shudder under acceleration, or is it more like the tire grabbing and letting go causing shake? Try placing a 1* shim in that places the pinion angle down a bit more. That will tell you if that is your problem or not. Hope you get it figured out soon. I placed my truck into another shop. I'm hoping they will figure out what the problem is with mine. I can't get it over 40 mph without it feeling like it's about to fall apart and shake you to death. I don't know what's going on now. Jim o i know ALL about wheel hop lol. my cobalt does nothing but hop. its more like a throw me outa my seat axle jumping up and down. plus my fellow tech noticed on the dyno tonight that the wheel is all shakey and crooked. so i switched wheels, same thing. its definatly a bent axle shaft. as i much as i wish it wasnt....
  20. replacing the rear set up ..is that an expensive install? Is this a complete rear brake replacement? I am green to all this tech. stuff..thanks no. its not too bad. start by taking the stock drums off(maybe 15 mins a side), then take the axle shafts out, replace backing plates, install axle shafts. slide rotor on, bolt caliper on. done. then bleed
  21. well it was my worst fear, a bent axle shaft. funny thing is, i never hit anything and no one else drives my truck. i find it hard to believe torque would kill it....
  22. wow man.... that sucks, im sorry. these trucks are big targets, and the onstar is totally useless so dont worry, having it wouldnt have meant a thing. my next door neighboors denali got stolen from her driveway a few weeks ago.... they tried to steal the SS but the Viper woke me up. only truck on the street not harmed. someone tried to steal it while it was on remote start as well. when they realized the truck had no keys, they ran. couldnt catch them little guy jumped fences like he was running from border patrol
  23. well now i have an agressive bouncing when spinning the tires. the whole axle jumps up and down really badly. my one guess is an offround tire, but they all roadforced under 25lbs...... any ideas?
