  1. the leafs have spacers that make them somewhat adjustable. the truck is actually about 3/4" higher than the way they are shipped from belltech. i adjusted the front and back accordingly to get that stance
  2. ive seen two in there..... one flicked me off i guess thats what $10k over sticker for a torquey stang gets you....... loosing to a 6k lb barge
  3. that would look pretty badass! wouldnt be too hard to make....
  4. all i have to say is...... there really isnt a need for a "vs." in between those two names. it should look more like this: Z06 > GT500 and thats an understatement ! there is no catagory that the little stang could come near the Z06 in. there was a mag article of the C6 vs. GT500, and it got its ass kicked so- add 100 hp, shave a hundred lbs (a little more actually), and all the handling improvements.... you be the judge the Z06 has claims of 0-60 all over the place.... but many mags are shifting to second during this reading. the Z06 will go 60 in first, and that has posted a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds. the stang is somewhere in the mid-low 4's, but all it really is is a stang GT with more displacement and a blower, its not a true performance car. but then again, thats not a fair comparison. one is a supercar, the other is a, well, mustang. the ford GT would be a good race tho........
  5. i am selling it because i have to. i cant afford my addiction anymore. i REALLY dont want to see it go, TRUST me. anywho..... i will include every stock part. or i can make it entirely stock (all stock parts have under 3k miles). i have the brand new 408, which can be put in to the deal for near nothing. hell i will put an LS7 in it if anyone so desires. i have the resources to make it anything for anyone riverakid- i was doing those things, and i have a 408 being made. the T56 would happen, if i end up keeping the truck. edit: i can also deliver anywhere, and take trade-ins.
  6. well, sadly, i think i have to part with it. the mods are all in my sig, i will consider reasonable offers. i will sell the truck like it is, or completely stock, or anywhere in between. the truck has 10k miles, an 06 loaded. the titlle is new, you will be the first owner. heres a link to some pics: http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31704
  7. thanks for the help. thats the pic i saw a few weeks ago that motivated me to believe it was possible to do with a nice-sized throw. i wish i could find out more about that truck.....
  8. your pushrods will be fine. the only other thing you will really need is a new balancer/crank bolt, its like $3. you will also need 1-2 gallons of dextron coolant. that is a beautiful truck btw
  9. hey guys, im going to do a T56 conversion. i think i have everything i need, i just want to be sure. i also want to see what some fellow GM guys did with their setup. quik, i know your one buddy thanks guys!
  10. nice job man, looks clean. all i have to say is..... i hope you got one hell of a security system and some dark tint; none of us want to see that thing walk
  11. all i have to say is............ i would HATE to be the guy who has to mount those tires
  12. first off, the alignment is pretty far off with either method in my experiences. keys do ride pretty ruff..... the pinion angle on a 2wd with the leaf packs in almost exactly the same as stock, its the carrier bearing that causes the vibration. if you look at a 2wd thats any lower than 2" (from underneath, on its weight) the joint is WAY off. the carrier bearing kit is a must for 3"+ drops. you personally may not feel vibration, but over time you will heavily wear your drivetrain. also i recomend belltech nitro active shocks with any drop, its a BIG improvement. it will be the best $100 you ever spent
  13. i told u above lol, 130 mph thats what i use, mainly because the truck drops off at 120 lol my eclipse HU has a screen that reads GPS SOG
  14. i believe we are referring to the TBSS and you the SSS. you are very close on the SSS, the limiter is @ 106 mph EDIT: i just remembered that i tune these things, i have pcm programs loool!! the TBSS has a ETC limit @ 130
  15. i believe the speed limiter would be arround 145 mph, the truck has V rated tires on it. they run very smooth and are very stable at high speeds. i have seen 130, and it was still climbing. however, i custom tuned mine and it had a CAI and cat-back. so i dont know about the limiter. ive heard stories of pepole taking their tbss to 140+, but who knows how true those are.....
  16. i saw a video of some chick doing a tractor pull in a stock SSS AWD. it actually did really well (not familair with this at all) in comparison to all the other, larger 4wd trucks.
  17. haha yea about that dyno...... if only i could find that money tree that i have been searching for, then MAYYYYYYYYYBE id buy another dyno . but until then, i find one tempremental, way too $$$, HUGE red piece of metal enough however i will have to take you up on those pictures someday
  18. ill get ya a price on the bumper and grille tomorrow, both new and primed. i have a black tailgate cap, was on my truck for maybe two weeks after delivery to the dealership, perfect condition.
  19. yup, that was my situation. i planned on putting the blower on my current motor, and was going to wait like a year to do the stroker. but it is deteriorating more and more and making more and more noise, i really need to do the motor NOW before i destroy anything else. and the maggie was already ordered, so tuff luck for me... i agree that would be a more ideal CR for 14 lbs, but i would rather have a more responsive motor out of boost, at a few pounds expense. who knows, i might end up going lower compression...... im a gm tech so i have all this planned . it may seem small, my engine may be different than most; i just cant wait to make the numbers, i promise they too will be different unfortunatly i was rebuilding the rear diff and my buddy put the pistons in to speed things up. i rebuilt the rear end, installed a new oil pan, new rods, new pistons, new heads, lifters, rockers, and ignition in 3 half days guess haste makes waste dont scare me like that! who do you think i am, adams2003??? im shootin for 3-4 weeks engine in and running (with MP112). the MP122 will be in and running in 6 weeks......................................................if i can pay for it ; if not, thats a 10-12 week deal (at the funds work is producing lately ) so YES you too can speed up the process of my new maggie!!! all i need is more happy performance customers
  20. the title kind of says it all..... the rings in my current setup were not file fit by the guy who installed them, which has screwed my cylinders up and made my truck sound like a duramax. so i figured while i have to scrap my pistons and rods, why not go 408? and because im gunna need more airflow, why not go with a new MP122 maggie? so my build is most likely going to include: -LQ9 block -LS2 250/80cc CNC heads 64.5cc com chambers -crane 1.8 gold race rockers -GMPP high-rpm (race) lifters -eagle forged 4.00" crank (maybe 3.62") -je or wiseco pistons -8cc dish -custom grind cam (undecided, maybe 216/220 .531 .531 115 LSA ) -eagle rods -LPE oil pump -ARP everywhere -of course, MP122 final compression will be somewhere arround 10.1 i plan on running 9-10 lbs thru the maggie
  21. handling is FAR improved over stock, its awesome. i frequently enjoy the improvement a little too much
  22. ok the erratic KR is usually a false reading. if it only does it for a second, and there are no changes in the AFR or injector pulse width, i would turn the knock sensor level a tad higher at that given RPM. there are certain RPMS that cause more vibration and tend to do that. is it near 4600-5100? you will almost always see some knock retard on a stock tune...... if you live in any environment warmer than 70 deg then you will have KR all the time. not all KR is due to high knock sensor levels. you are definatly going to want to change the IAT retard tables, they are way too conservative. btw bnoon i dont remember making a blanket statement, and i dont remember telling him to raise or lower his spark either...... if he tuned before he obviously knows how not to blow up a motor
