  1. i like the wheel design, but i wouldve gone with a lower profile tire (i could be seeing it wrong but it looks rather large) and lowered the truck. also, please loose that windshield tint. either take it all off or tint the whole thing...... what you got now is illegal anyways
  2. wow, the effects of a poorly machined sun shell. ive seen plenty destroyed sun shells, but never have i seen one take the case with it! thats a fairly strong trans, alot of the components are cyro treated
  3. dextron VI is just a replacement for III that is 100% improvement in all aspects or more (i have the specs somewhere arround here). its not necesarily required in our trucks, but GM recomends it and it came in all vehicles as of late 06 and forward. however, the 6L85e in the corvette, the version of that in the 07 escalade and denalis, the allison, and the 5-speeds in the V6 cars require it. they will all run III, but its not a very good idea. it will kill the lifespan on the trans.
  4. ive got a set of 20x10 welds with 305/55/20 terragrapplers, i believe they are 32"
  5. hahaha yea he photoshopped it..... read the rest of the thread lol. i dont have pics, im getting mine redone tomorrow. let me just give you a pointer which im sure you know already- dumped exhaust IMO looks the best, but dont do it unless you dont mind loads of drone. ill post pics of mine tomorrow, doing two off each rear corner like the red SS towards the top
  6. if the injectors, heads, and cam are stock then a fuel trim relearn should fix it. the O2s could be causing that as well. as far as the 11.8 AFR goes, are you refering to under WOT or regularly? thats fine under moderate throttle out of PE; its also fine in PE under WOT, but i think you would want it just a tad leaner for better power. the flow rate should remain stock unless the truck has different injectors. the MAF table should as well. the only thing you should really tune on a primarily stock truck is the PE table, high octane spark, and torque management. transmission shift points and pressures as well.
  7. i still think the ignition disable on the alarm is active and wont turn off
  8. well first off i dont think you can say it will give you any amount of max HP..... that depends on SO many other things, a large part being the tune and how the motor was built. the radix claims about 120 whp on a primarily stock 6.0, the procharger is claiming a MAX output (meaning max rated boost, on an engine made for that). i make over 500whp/500wtq on the radix at about 8-8.5 lbs. i made about 265whp stock, so dont worry about 120 being your max. i have nearly doubled my HP output with it, and it takes under 5 hours to install. also, the procharger does not require oil pan tapping, unlike the vortech. although that may be easier, it is not better. IMO a centrifical needs that oil, if it is self contained its not cooling too well. the vortech is a far better unit and kit than the procharger. i have installed, repaired (many more times than install lol), dynoed, and dnyotuned all three systems many times. here are some of my pros and cons: vortech: -looks good under the hood -great air cooling system -not an easy install, lots of parts (the corvette is rediculous, cutting and prying for hours on end) -the t trim can make some serious boost -once its on, not an easy transition to stock procharger: -looks cheap under the hood -somewhat poor air induction -changing the belt will take you a few hours(with massive power and FI this is common, sadly) -self oiled, no lines needed -lots of power to be made with the right unit magnacharger: -ease of installation is unparalled -simplicity of kit makes returning to stock easy -comes fully assymbled as a manifold -limited in its max power limits, when at high boost levels IATs become uncontrollable -high boost is nearly impossible to achieve -magnason available warranty is great the breakdown: vortech is the best choice for those looking to go big, built motor and big cams. the vortech has lots of potential magnacharger is an awesome upgrade for a stock or well-modded vehicle. its "under the curve" power is the best of the three. it may not peak the same, but everyday driveablity is FAR more responsive in any and all RPMs the procharger would take last, but still has high HP potential. most difficult to service
  9. get a t-stat for an 04-up LS1/LS6. thats just the stat, the pre 04 has the housing as well
  10. for all using syn fluids such as amsoil, royal purple, or mobile 1- a slight improvement is felt by switching from dextron III to a synthetic fluid. however, when i switched mine, i not only noticed no drop in operating temperature, but my shifts became weaker (stock and with shift kit). so i put dextron III back in, and it got even sloppier. months later, i saw a box of dextron VI. i had no idea there was a VI, i thought i was reading it wrong. turns out it recently came out and is in late model 06 and all 07 65e's and larger. thats what i originally had, and i can tell you as a performance nut and a mechanic that it is FAR better than synthetic, and cheaper. i just changed my royal purple to the dex VI when i put the yank in, and wow..... MUCH smoother shifts and lower temps. so anybody not running it, GET TO IT!!!!
  11. stylinconcepts.com these are all carriage works, both polished stainless steel finish, bolt over style. the main grille is p/n 42212CAR and the 3 piece bumper kit is p/n 42042CAR
  12. thanks! here are two higher res photos. stupid photobucket wont go any bigger
  13. well when i had the pirelli's, not so hot. any moisture on the ground and it wasnt even safe to drive. dry weather, all over the place. the stock goodyears were better...... the toyo's are fantastic, i love them. it hooks great, handles the power well well its somewhere near 3" in (give or take) the front, and about 3.5" in the back.
  14. i couldnt have said that any better. i easily have that in the truck, and just about everyone says the same thing about me. but i did it because i like it, going way too fast in something way too heavy is my style and that guys style is putting 30"s on his caprice...... those wheels HAVE to be somewhat light weight, otherwise that heavy car on 33" tires has a 572 in it
  15. i used the one off of the STS-V caddy. the ones on the chevy SS cars are much larger, if your going to put them outside. small ones=STS-V, largers ones=cobalt ss s/c or TBSS (these are under the hood) MAYBE....... i tinted it the day i got it, and by the end of the week (anxiously waited till 500 miles lol) i changed the oil, put a BBK TB, CAI, and dyno tuned it i have a large, clincally insane vehicle addiction. thats why i love this place so much, i dont feel like a lunatic here lmao 2" drop belltech spindles, 2" drop groundforce t-keys, belltech 3" drop leaf packs, carrier bearing relocator (life saving device ;) ) and of course i have some crazy front jouncers(aka bump stops) with the Mr.P hole drilling madness mod
  16. thanks for all the compliments guys yes you do! im a photo noob and yes, i hereby give you permission to use my badge-placing techniquies
  17. well my neighboors moved out (miami dolphins assistant coach) with nick sabon to louisiana so i figured i would utilize their pretty driveway also dropped the front another 3/4" a few days ago, and im much happier with the rake. here are some of our dyno and facilities of course, way back when the truck was almost stock enjoy
  18. yea those have been a GM accessory since the TBSS came out. i have a set on mine, but i dont know how much it really does unless im on the track. i think a set of larger cross drilled rotors would do much better IMO. i would get some in a heartbeat if someone made them. btw, they aint cheap!! i think they are like $320@cost.....
  19. that 505 hp concept truck WILL NOT come out. first off if you examine the pictures, the parts used on that truck are amazing. baer 6 piston/15" 2 piece brakes, 22"s, the exhuast is a work of art, it probably has coilovers (front for sure, back who knows), and lets not forget the LS7 and T56. that truck would be some serious money. IMO it would sell great, it would be the truck of all trucks. hell it would be the truck of most cars too lol. if they were going to release it, it wouldnt have gotten seen so much. usually when they release something like that, they dont want others to see whats going on. didnt see too many concept Z06s or "blue devils", let alone the new viper. it pretty much came out of nowhere. just my 2 cents
  20. i dunno about fastest 07...... ive seen a magnacharged one, reg cab. im willing to bet that would outrun a 13.3
  21. i think a good alarm will severly deter theives. but like stated above, a true professional who wants your truck, will get your truck. but there are a LOT more petty theives, who really really dont want to get caught or have the patience to deal with a well protected vehicle. i have had two theft attempts on my truck, both failures. the first time my remote start was active, and i had the keys. i forgot to arm the truck. i was walking back to my truck, about 75 feet away when i hear my key fob beep (saying the truck had been shut off by the brake pedal). i ran arround to see wtf was going on, and the door was open and a guy was hauling across the parking lot. i guess that wouldnt have happened if the truck were off, however. the second time, my proximity sensor set off 3 warning chirps at about 2 am. i ignored it, but it did it again after a few seconds. got up, went downstairs to see two people with a floor jack and a tire wrench. (guess they didnt know eagles arent worth shit lmao opened my front door, they ran into some old car. never seen them again. however, within a week of that, 7 cars on my street all got broken into, and 2 denali's stolen. neighboors on both sides of me, and across the street were robbed (one of those denali's was next door). my trucks were untouched, both have vipers with tilt, proximity, glass, shock modules. the SSS has much more security in it, including GPS tracking. they both had PROTECTED BY VIPER stickers on them at the time, and several blue LEDs inside. they werent even approached......
  22. somethings special about your buddy's SRT8. ive seen them run mid-low 13s all day, even shown a few the back of my SS and its lovely oil consumption . thats a damn good time..... it must suck to see this on the window sticker: "includes $625 freight and $2100 gas-guzzler tax" ive got a factory 11 second car with 16/26 mpg on the sticker some stats for your sheer amusement (since i already looked it all up ) ACCELERATION Seconds Zero to 30 mph: 1.9 40 mph: 2.7 50 mph: 3.6 60 mph: 4.7 70 mph: 5.9 80 mph: 7.4 90 mph: 9.2 100 mph: 11.2 110 mph: 13.3 120 mph: 15.9 130 mph: 20.0 140 mph: 24.7 150 mph: 30.7 Street start, 5-60 mph: 4.9 Top-gear acceleration, 30-50 mph: 2.7 50-70 mph: 3.0 Standing 1/4-mile: 13.2 sec @ 109 mph Top speed (redline limited): 173 mph
  23. can you get some info for me? maybe send me a log file? then i could help you a little more. im thinking youve got a high IAT or off O2 readings. this would cause a signifigant drop in timing, due to the maggie tunes VERY safe spark retard tables. i was only seeing about 11 deg of advance, at 185 ECT and 120 IAT. just bumping that up to, say 20, (depending on your situation) and making a more consistant a/f ratio would get you close to 400 whp.
