  1. What do you do if you have to go back to the dealer for a warrenty issue? Do they have your stock tune on file? Will this void your warrenty if they see that you have a custom tune? Am I still able to tow with one? I've got an 08 V-Max and I have to do something about this detuned motor. It kills me to say this but I got spanked by a newer FORD Focus. F***!!! So if anyone can answer these questions for me, you would be doing me more than a favor.

The tuner who tuned my truck still has the stock tune, so I can switch back to stock if I really need to. No, they can't void your warranty if you have a custom tune. If they are going to void your warranty they need to prove that the custom tune messed up what went wrong. Yeah, you're still able to tow. I recommend to get an extra set of PCM & TCM to keep your stock tune on the original set of the PCM & TCM, and the extra set tune it however you want. Yeah, tune it bro these new V-Max trucks are extremely detuned. The reason you lost is the 4 second delay in which you don't get power at all, and the torque management which makes you lose power after the truck shifts. A custom tune will wake up your truck sick, you will not even recognize the truck after the tune.

  2. Here are some pics of my V-Max when I took it to get dyno tuned. I took it to get tuned with Justin from Black Bear Performance. The tune really woke up my truck, I took off the 4 second delay, turned of AFM, took of 80% torque management, I set the speed limiter at 140mph. It was an all out performance tune, I tuned it to run on 91 octane only. The truck runs really nice, and when I need the power it's right there.

  3. I totally agree with you. I had a classic body VortecMax and never had them side by side but if I had the Classic would have SMOKED the NBS I have now. I don't what they did after they put that motor in the truck (maybe a boat anchor wrapped around the drive shaft) but they sure don't put 70% of the 367 advertised horses to the ground. I know what everybody has said about TM and tunes but I've rode in a Wheatly tuned NBS and still think the Classic was more powerful. I hope that Jess w/wait4me performance can show me what this thing can do. I love Chevrolet don't get me wrong but from 07 to 08 they went backwards IMO. Jesse Bubb +50 HP, & 70 ft/lbs FTW.

Was the tuned NBS a V-Max? I don't think u can gain 50hp & 70 ft/lbs out of a tune. Tune the truck, it will be way faster.

  4. so what all happens when you pull the drl fuse out? Do the drls just stop working and the low beams just come on all the time or what? if so, i may do this

I pulled the DRL fuse on my V-Max and the DRL don't turn on at all. The low beam lights come on at the same time they always came on.

  5. I tuned my V-Max for 91 octane and when it wasn't tuned I used to put 87 octane and you could feel a loss in power. Since the tune I haven't put 87 octane, only 91 octane.
