  1. i do want a few more mods. but seriously, in stock form the vmax should smoke a 5.3. i know about the tk management killing these trucks off the line but dam, i still should beat him.

The 5.3L also has less torque management, which could explain why the 5.3L gave u a good run. The Vortec Max is really detuned and is really not enjoyable to drive with the TM it has. The V-Max also has the three second delay which hold back power sick, tune it man and you'll smoke 5.3L and Hemi's. You'll be way happier after you tune it, all the power that it puts out will be usable. Weird thing is my V-Max would smash on 5.3L trucks on stock tune.

  2. yup, you down to roll. ive only been there once. its an 1/8th mile but better than nothing.

I'll see if I can make it, if not this week maybe next week. I'm all stock though, but down to run.

  3. hey man ill be at irwindale tomorrow if you want a run. probably around 5ish. Ill be the slate grey tundra with the social distortion sticker on the back if you can make it.

Nice grill bro, your SS looks awesome with the grille and the H.I.D's.

  5. dont waste your time and money with a handheld tuner, get a custom tune for less money and way more power/drivability

Yeah, dude go with a custom tune. I went with a dyno tune on my V-Max and it is a completely different truck. Hand helds are a waste of money. You can customize your truck way more with a custom tune and it is way cheaper than a hand held.

  6. I also went and did a dyno tune of my V-Max and here is the paper of what it made. I went Saturday morning and got it tuned, and it drives way better right now. I removed 80% torque management, took off the 3 second delay, turned off 4 cylinder mode and I put the limiter at 130mph. Are these good numbers for a stock V-Max?

  7. well i would definately try and sell the programmer and get a custom tune, also try a shift kit and servo's thier pretty cheap and definately make our trucks feel cometely different, but the install is the part that would be a little expensive. and if u do gio with a custom tune make sure to tune after installing all the mods.

What kind of shift kit would be good?

  8. My first car was a brand new 2006 Chevrolet Silverado LT which was more close to an LS, it had the 5.3L , fog lamps, steering wheel controls, 17" rims. It was a pretty nice truck and then I bought a 1985 Camaro Z28 it had the carbed 305 with the 5 speed manual transmission. And then I sold to one of my friends who modified it pretty sick. Then I traded in my 2006 Silverado on a brand new 2007 Silverado Vortec Max LTZ which is awesome.
