  1. 04" AWD with 88K Front hubs Replaced trans with perfromabuilt All fluids changed a lot.....

Hey guys, i know its not a SSS but it is a SS 67 camaro with a built 408ci stroker producing 550hp (650 in future) Need a tranny but totally lost on what to get... much rather have manual but can't afford to swap the parts out.... so should i get a 700r4 or 200r4. I REALLY want overdrive. edit: going to get a fully built unit, so not stock units. prob performabuilt Stage 3 manaul or auto i got a 3500 budget. Tell me what you all think. THANKS!!!!

I debated this for a while now and decided its time to throw some more cash at the truck rather than the camaro (67 with 408 stroker ) Mods are the usual: plugs, wires, intake, cat back, trans cooler, thermostat, performabuilt stage 2 trannny(shift kit and servo installed), 2800rpm billet converter Now the place i am prob going to is called eastcoastsupercharging.com they build my buddies 06 supercharged vette (700hp) As far as the tune, the only reccomendations i have are to set lock up at 45mph and delete test for P0757 and P0751 (due to converter, i need to get rid of the damn check engine light) anything else i should ask for?
  4. same problem. replaced both front hubs for $240 in parts. Easy job edit: bad hub bearings destroys the sensors
  5. i cleared it with my modus and it turned back on. The 02 is not switching like it should. Constant .4XX volts
  6. Po140- Bank 1 sensor 2 assume thats the after cat 02 on driver or pass side? need to order and didnt check it out on all data when i was at work..... get a GM replacement (get for cost) or an aftermarket?
  7. where can i get all these parts? plus a rebuild kit for a 4l60e edit: all parts plus (even dicoutned labor) is damn close to a whole new fully built trans
  8. I work with a guy who is ASE certified GM tech with transmission for something like 30 years. Going to get an estimate from him, but what parts could i order and give him to keep this pos from blowing again. servo, shift kit, tune, 2500rpm stall converter, etc.... any list of parts to get for a truck that only has an intake and exhaust. (soon a tune)

  10. Well i do not want to rebuild the exact same trans. If it blew at 80K, it will again at 150-160K whats a good trans builder i can send it to then...
  11. Trans fluid is good hard acceleration= trans slips and bounces off rev limiter.... F#CK need some recomendations on trans builders.... any in NJ?
  12. So the temperature dropped relatively quickly in my area. My trans seems to hold 1st gear out way too long (up to 5-6K) then drop for a few seconds into second gear then right to third. If im cruising in any gear but first the truck is fine but once I come to a complete stop, the Trans holds onto first for way too long. What could be wrong? 78K miles edit: the temps never go past 150...after an hour of driving it is at about 125.

  14. monmouth county I see A LOT o vette's with the black out tail lights and they sem to be getting away with it Everytime I see a SSS wit black headlights and taillights i drool....lol where in NJ are you from?
  15. okay so my boss let me use the shop to work on my truck sat. The SSS is overdue for a service so i did as much as i could think of doing (while gettin parts for cost ) oil change (mobil 1) oil filter trans filter trans flush cleaned trans pan rear diff change fluid (GM synthic----EXPESIVE OMG) front diff change fluid transfer case fluid spark plugs PCV valve air filter power steering fluid brake fluid and bleed adjusted parking brake new tires alignment wiper fluid any part that was really dirty had a nice bath in the parts washer so what did i forget????? anything eles needs to be replaced/ cleaned/ inspected/ adjusted??? (besides for tires i think i only spent like 200-220)
  16. get one like the TruXsport. roll up. Then get a locking tailgate handle..... i have the truXport on mine and love it. for $180 bucks ya can't beat it
  17. okay thanks.... going to call a few local PD buddies and see what they say I am a FF, so that usually gets me out of small tickets like this.... for some reason tinted front windows is the PD pet pev. So i won't be doing that
  18. I have noticed a few of the members have blacked out headlights and/or tailights. I absolutly LOVE the look and think they would go great with my black SSS. I have just one question.....are they legal? I am in NJ if it makes any difference

    i say no i got my 04 SSS AWD with every option except for chrome wheels, onstar, and sunroof 38K 19,999 out the door that was a yr and a half ago!!!!

  22. i decided on just buying a muffler and welding it in myself into the factory system. what is the stock size of the two pieces of tubing going into the muffler and the size for the two pieces of tubing going out of the muffler? thx for all the help

    the stall is in my 67....no computer there SSS is bone stock he was stalling his X5 like crazy. I wonder what size stall they have... btw for racing is it best to leave it in Drive? with the trailer off or on?

    yeah i have a 3200 stall in the camaro but i was nervous with a AWD daily driver truck. forgot the mention there was 3 ppl in the SSS and 2 in the X5 i herd the computer will retard the timing when stallin the converter and cause problems.... truck really needs exhuast! it way to quiet....
