  1. can someone look up the gm part number? i got universals from napa...they are way wrong i got some from rock auto. also wrong. went to napa and they tried every one that was listed, but none were right..... is our truck drive shaft different from regulator 1500's??? can someone look up and see if silverado ss part numbers are diff than regular 1500's? or a listing on the exact dimensions that i can match up. thanks sooo much for any and all help. Every u-joint i get is too large.
  2. It is a love hate relationship. When everything is working, the truck is a DREAM and i LOVE it. just drove 1500 miles and going back home in a week, and it was a great trip! however, that is rare.... at 110,500 miles now: on 3rd transmission (1st stocker laster until 80K, then performabuilt lasted almost exactly 2 years and 30K but blew b/c of bad pump, and now just installed the rebuilt 2 weeks ago) both front hubs at 70K but looking like i will need again with in 5-6K washer fluid pump just blew at 110K EVAP vent valve solenoid at 99K exhaust manifolds cracked and studs heads blew off, replaced with long tube headers at 100K Cats went bad at 100K, did cat delete with retune from wheaty Both front seat heater elements went in fall of 2009 at (guessing) 95K Starter at 105K (solenoid) 1 coil at 105K powder coat peeling on wheels causes leaks on seal of tire, had to remove tires, clean, and reinstall tires. Lucky for me I was able to do at work. 104K Transmission mount went bad at 99K Oil leaking rear main seal, replaced when trans was out for third time, was very minor 02 sensor at 85K PS I am definitely forgetting things, not including aftermarket parts failures like mufflers or HID kits...... currently needs washer fluid pump, detail job, 4 tires, u-joints, front speakers, and shocks. All will be done in spring edit: forgot the rear windows make some noise, the climate control acts odd once in blue moon, and the blower motor makes too much noise on rare occasions. Do oil change with valvoline or Mobile 1 every 3K-3.5K Follow all recommended maintenance and then some....
  3. Transmission just went again. Leaking bad now. Third times a charm, I hope....
  4. okay guys, i was just messing around. I love my truck, a lot. was just a frustrating month. 2bFAST: why not complain? it is a way of venting and makes the feeling of accomplishment that much better when something actually goes right! The trans was cleaned really well before reinstall and i wiped out the inside of the bell housing after it was all bolted up (the area i could reach) The leak is very small, few drops a day, but after changing all the seals i wanted it to be nice and dry. Think there must be a crack in the converter or something. Looking into the front axle. it is where the passenger side axle bolts to the differential. No idea what is involved in the repair as of yet. also looking for better muffler to silent the truck down a little....way too loud. (magnaflows, long tubes, exit in front of rear tire) thanks for all the help and will let you know what i find. PS the no start was from corroded terminals on the starter and a halfway unplugged sensor above starter
  5. thanks a lot! front seal and pump seal both being replaced. trying to find trans shop to check converter
  6. performabuilt. Ship to your door. to get faster, i believe weatley performance tuning is a dealer for performabuilt in TX
  7. that would be great! thank you. I think i read something about the rear seal that you posted a while back but couldn't find it
  8. AS the title suggests, the truck is just too loud now. It sounds AMAZING but is just way too loud to have a conversation in the truck. My girlfriend puts up with all my shenanigans but i can tell this is bothering her. Total system is Longtubes, cat deleted, 2 X 22" magnaflow mufflers, true duals Will an X pipe reduce the noise a lot? is there a special part to lower noise? take seats and carpet out and put in sound proofing material any help would be great
  9. sorry was not paying close attention: it is 0442, just hit the wrong key new gas cap, but tested anyway and it passed (2 diff machines too lol) It comes back after a week or so was off all winter b/c it only sets in warm ambient temps so i let it go, and now i am due for inspection it has yet to come back since clearing yesterday, but i am sure it will updated tune, new LT's, and fixed this EVAP prob....soon all will be right
  10. 8 ur hmi: I am sorry if you guys took my response as an insult in any way, shape, or form but I promise it was not intended that way. I just thought that it was much easier to install those short versions. I was not certain, so thats why i posted on this fantastic site that has never steered me wrong. I got the answer i needed and appreciate the input. I installed new high flow cats 3 months ago so i would prefer to just get the long tubes and ill weld the old cats/ pipes in. Total system on truck is Magnaflow "high flow" cats (i assume they dont flow any better,/ stockers just died and needed replacements), 2 maganflow mufflers, exit with 2 2-1/2" tips in front of tires. Lt's would prob make it sound a little nicer too fireman: another quick question for ya, i just smoked my truck trying to trace down a p0441 small leak code. There was no leak and the system was completely sealed. I activated and deactivate the purge and it was working fine, would it be safe to assume the vent valve solenoid by the fuel tank is the culprit? Drove all day and code never reset.
  11. these look decent for the price http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-02-05-Cadillac-Escalade-Chevy-Avalanche-SS-Header-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5639413707QQitemZ370327762695QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  12. any link to those ebay ones that got rave reviews. the one in the original thread sends me to a search for cats honestly the stocks got destroyed trying to replace the studs, so not a huge desire for performance. 200 for a pair of shortys is better than 300 for stockers (shops cost)
  13. looking for an affordable header that will bolt into the stock pipes....no LT's any ideas
  14. you go 7K! i do mine every 3000 miles with M1 and M1 filter....
  15. They are soooooooo easy to change rockauto.com
