  1. Thanks for the help; just ordered the 5 piece set from Carriage Works. Will post pics when all the work is done next week. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what part number did you use? i was looking to do a grill change at some point too.
  2. all i can say about this is wow. http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/10/12/robber.r...t.ap/index.html[/u]
  3. when did the ls2 come with a timing belt?
  4. i didnt say it looked bad just that those $99.00 hood scoops that you tape on look really silly up close. i had one for about a week when i had a truck at the age of 18. otherwise im with breakyaneck....get a cowl/ram air hood instead.
  5. sounds an awful lot like a salesman's pitch to me.
  6. R.I.P. corey lidle. actually yankees pitcher now.
  7. terribly sorry for your loss. honestly if i lost my boston terrier kona i think i would be sick for months. she gets treated better than my wife (so my wife says - she's right too). i just really feel for you. stay strong.
  8. supercharged range rovers are really fast too. jeep srt8 fast.
  9. that was one problem i didnt have. my 02's bolted right in even though they said "dynatech" that they hadnt test fit for an 06 2wd yet. my only other complaint is that i think i need some more support as on a hard launch or big bump i hear some nasty clunking underneath from the crossmember section i guess.
  10. looks pretty good. please tell me its not one of those stick on "all show, no go" tape on hood scoops?
  11. I fixed that problem on mine by zip tieing(sp?) the back two plug wires together and then to the truck. I also slipped some 2 boots over each wire. so far so good. if the zip ties break the boots should last for a little while. Sure sucks to see you ran into the same problem. How did you get stuck with the old model. PM me if you don't want to post that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i dont mind saying (sort of) there is a company selling them online right now for $899.00. yes they are the old style and yes they are $250.00 better than tbyrne's group purchase price. to me i didn't care if they were the old style as everyone i noticed that had them on here probably had the old style and seemed to like them just fine except for the funky #3 pipe. i didnt want to say anything last week as i know tbyrne is a member and was hyping up there "great group purchase" for $1149.00 i think.
  12. recommendation on aftermarket lonnnnggggg wires???
  13. so i thought i was getting a smoking deal on some dynatech headers which i did price wise but apparently these were the old version with the funky upturned 3rd tube on driver side. needless to say i've burnt completely through one sparkplug wire and now on my second (with asbestos insulation) am again running on seven cylinders. i am irritated and don't see an obvious solution to this problem. anybody else got any bright ideas? ive tied the wire as far away as possible but it is still right next to the pipe either way.
  14. any day works for me as long as i'm not golfing.
  15. here's the math i come up with. 38k sticker for 06 2wd extended ss with 345 hp or 42k sticker for reg cab 06 srt-10 with 500hp. in actuallity i probably could have gotten an srt-10 down to 35 or so but i got my ss for under 30 since they were blowin out the 06's. so be serious with your comparisons at least. and there is no way that you could in 03, 04, 05 buy an awd ss and put all the mods you did ( < Radix w/ 3.0" Pulley > Airaid CAI > JBA Shorties > Magnaflow DI/IO 3" exhaust > Custom tuned PCM > Toy Shop built 4L65E w/ vette servo and Yank TT2600) for under 40k.
  16. it means HEY HEY....was it that hard to figure out <{POST_SNAPBACK}> guess not if i understood ebonics. but unfortunately i speak english so it is a little foriegn to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To Question 1: Plaistow NH, but originaly from Haverhill, MA Question 2: no ebonics, just how i write. my fault...anyway, where u from Rivierakid55...? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> according to the little note next to my profile apparently im from san jose.
  17. Why is it you take off about 12 grand from the SS sticker when you talk about it, but only 2 grand of the SRT sticker??? If the SS is a $30k truck then the SRT is a $40k truck. With employee discounts people are getting SRT's cheaper than that! And, I think he put more than "a couple $k" into his truck. ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i have to agree with 1stdodge here. sticker on my new ss was 38k and the reg cab srt-10 was 42k. not 20k difference. and being a former dodge owner i think the srt-10 is a pretty good looking truck in its own way. i had two reasons for leaving my dodge for a chevy. first and foremost was the lack of aftermarket parts for dodge. second is it was time to buy a new truck anyways and i would have bought an srt-10 (who cares about gas mileage with 500hp!) except my wife won't drive stick and occassionally she needs to drive the truck so i ended up with an ss instead. im happy with my chevy but don't think i would have hated an srt-10 either.
  18. sounds good to me. id definately like to get mine out to the track one of these days if i could ever get my tune done.

  20. seriously? transmission temperature has nothing to do with engine operating temp. installing a transmission cooler isn't going to affect your engine temps. installing a 160 degree thermostat versus the factory 180 or 195 degree thermostat allows the engine to run cooler. cooler means more power. means you can throw more timing at it. more power means
  21. congrats! from another san jose member.
  22. links work good for me. first video is hilarious!
  23. thanks and yes i got a better deal. at cost. actually i sold my chrome twenties with rubber for more than i paid for my 22's with rubber!!!
