just had my trans go hd-2 shift kit installed along with vette servos and such today along with new tru-cool trans cooler and i could not be happier. trans now shifts firm but not too the point of banging (chirps second now ) also with cooler i ran about 20 degrees cooler during rush hour traffic. cooler was a bit more difficult to install having to make new hard lines and such but just the drop in temp is worth it to me. $500.00 parts and labor well spent.

one thing i forgot is cut the first part of the bumpstop off. i didnt realize mine was hitting it until a couple of days later when the suspension settled.

thinking in my ongoing quest for more power that i might want to do a cam/head upgrade but can't find any legal for sale in california. any ideas? slp sells heads legal with an e.o. number but can't find a cam. am i going to have to shhhhh (bend the rules)?

i did not. everything stayed the same. pretty sure if you just do drop spindles and stay away from keys or adjusting torsion bars you shouldnt have too.

on my previous truck which was a dodge dakota 4.7 with two cats i put in a dual spintech setup with new performance cats and converted to true duals with x-pipe keeping factory O2 sensors and i had to smog it at a test only before selling it and they DID do a visual and it passed both visual and dyno test. having less cats/no cats or modifying O2 sensors with dummies would be a violation according to the smog center. i would look into another shop. besides you have six years not to have to worry about it anyways!

so here's the deal. i talked to tybrne today and they in turn talked to dynatech and said that "theoretically" the long tube headers should bolt up to an 06 but they have not test fit one yet. so is there anyone out there who knows if the 03-05 have the same exhaust configuration as the 06 as far as cats/02 bungs and such? i'd definately like to get in on these headers but am not feeling real confident about buying these right now. the good thing about california is still that we have 6 years of no smog for new vehicles so who cares if the cats are moved!

yeah i loved my spintech setup (expensive but worth it - haven't heard an exhaust sounding better than that yet) i realize the dynatech's are not smog legal in california but i don't have to smog mine for at least five years and am more concerned with if they will bolt up with the factory O2 sensors.

all i can say is that if you add an amp be prepared to either buy a new head unit or a jl audio cleansweep. im in san jose and can give you more info if you need.

first wondering how much of a bolt in the dynamaxx long tubes and cats are and if they have the factory 02 bungs already in place. being here in california it is a must for me. also, it says legal for sale in california but is that strictly for smog and not for fittment? secondly is anyone here running a spintech dual muffler setup? i ran one on my previous dodge that was a true dual with x pipe and perf cats and it sounded nasty. (and passed smog ) haven't seen any for the sss chevy but was wondering if anyone was running this?

i just bought my 06 about a month ago. i went online to chevy and you can build an o7 only in 2wd and also with no leather. same body style as 06.
