Nice man. I had to hide my ballest under the fan shroud. It's great place to put them. You can tuck down in there next the radiator core.

man I want some!
Well, what are you waiting for?
Thanks guys
Here's the sample of the candy purple that I said I would post. It's an old pic, and it's not a very good picture of it. I didn't add another coat of silver to it either to make it pop. On the back of the engine cover, I brushed on some iridescent purple (which has a light sparkle to it) with a coat of candy purple over part of it. The whitesh color is a pearl base coat which looks kind of white in the sunlight because its to thick. It looks much better when sprayed on. When doing a "Black Pearl" base coat with the purples over it, it really looks cool, especially in the sunlight. I'll do a good sample for you guys tomorrow, but I don't have any black pearl just yet, but below is a sample of it.

Thanks Al. Let me know, I've got a PM from someone too that might be willing to ship me one.

I need to do a project for someone, and was wondering if anyone has an extra bowtie that they are willing to give up for free. I didn't want to spend $50 for one. So if anyone has an extra one they can give away, please give me a PM.
Thanks,
Terry

Thanks Bob. Well, my wish came true pretty fast!

Yep, I agree. There's no way a stock GT will touch a TBSS. I think that kid needs a lesson.

I don't want to get in trouble by posting prices, but I do it pretty cheap for "you guys". If you want yours done, just give me PM. I do all kinds of colors, and the true fire one is the best looking. BTW, I'm iching to use my new candy purple over a shimmering silver. Candy purple always looks bad a$$ on black. If I get time today, I'll post up some candy purple flame samples. But I've got to get the other stuff for you guys done first.

Well, if your mind is made up and you really want a blue, look at some color charts from House of Kolor. You can get all kinds of different blue's, like candy blue's, pearl blue's, etc, something that will really make it glow! Not that arrival blue isn't cool. So if you really are going to do it, then do it with a bang and get a bad ass blue, and maybe some artwork like ghost flames or something. If you like artwork on your truck.

Yeah, aren't the 08's 610 HP? I think that would be a tough challange, but its not impossible.

There was one that lived down the street from me a few years ago that had a red 05'. Her truck was louder than mine! This was before I got my SS, but she used to drive by my house everyday, and raddle the windows with a deep rumble. I couldn't believe how loud it was. I always wondered what she had for an exhaust and under the hood for mods, but I never could catch her. It sounded like she had true duals or maybe cutouts. Don't no, but it sure was loud. She was a hot blond too! I think she was renting from someone in the hood for about a year. I finally went to the house were she lived when I got mine, but she had already moved.

Yep, Rob is correct. A good shop will charge you about $10 grand or better. Alot of people don't understand what it takes to get every nook and cranny on a paint job when changing colors. I'd like to change mine to black, but I know what it will take to do it.

That's the funnest I've seen in long time!

Nice man! It's always good to have new toys. Can't wait to see it dropped.

Ok, well it's 12:36pm here, and still nothing. Sometimes he shows up about 3:00 or so.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it might be worth a shot to build something like that. But I'll be busy for awhile on all the other ones first.
Virgil, I'm still waiting for your shroud. UPS hasn't been here yet.

I use to have a 1970 SS with a 396 in it, back in 1981. It was gold with black racing stripes and a "REAL" cowl induction hood, and had the keystone classic wheels on it too. This car was in mint condition too. When I was in the 82nd Airborne, I bought for $1500. When I went to jump school, and came back, it wouldn't start. Couldn't never figure it out. So I just told them to come and get it. Has to be to dumbest thing I've ever done in my life. All that was wrong with it was the points. Needless to say, I regret ever doing that!!

by the way it is a 69 chevelle my uncle has the same car with 37000 original mi and all original paint and all not a convertible though
You must have been reading my mine. I couldn't remember what year told me, and I think it is a 69, plus I don't think they cost $50 G's either, more like $35. He's trying to sell it at that price or best offer.

Just to add an idea for your covers but why not have a machine shop fab up some flat aluminum covers so you would have a smooth surface to paint? No grooves means more bling...
That's not a bad idea. Maybe just for the top? To get rid of the grooves, that would be cool. Yeah it's hard to get good detail over the stupid holes, raised lettering, and grooves. I don't know why GM did that anyway, they knew that I would painting for you guys.
