  1. I am a jump, skip and a hop from you in Hemet. Just take the 330 to the 10 East and get off on Beaumont(Hwy 79). Shoot me a PM or E-mail and we can shoot the sh...t.
  2. BTW, here is a buddy of mine(Steve from southern Cali) with a stroker N/A Jeep SRT-8 doing 11's and very low 11's with a bit of juice. He races a stock block SRT-8 with a supercharger that runs almost identical times. Also, Steve is about to add a supercharger too. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Fastest...8-in_494093.htm
  3. I know someone in Texas that would race you with his Hemi. His name is Brad and he goes by WBW on the Dodge forums. I can set things up if you want since "i love my SS" never responded. I have both a Hemi Ram and a Vortech Silverado and I say stock they are about equal. Teh advantage goes to the Silverado as far as parts and tuning goes but there are a few Dodges that despite the lack of parts and any real tuning have managed to make their trucks fast(12''s and a few 11's) although not the norm.
  4. So you have lt, volant cai w/ram air tube, ls2 intake w/90 tb, e-fans, 160 t-stat, pulleys, ngk plugs, taylor wires, injectors, a tune and some weight reduction, right? OK, that could get you into the 12's, maybe. I astonished too but more from the fact thst he wrote that on the freeway(presumable from a roll) they were even but from a light(dig) he "jumped his a$$". That is backward thinking for me as my experience has shown that from freeway speeds they are not as fast because they are flying bricks but from a dig they are absolute animals since they are AWD. But then again he did say he was not sure the other(SRT-8 Cherokee) guy was really racing him.
  5. You have a very nice truck, lol. I feel like I have a brother here now.

Some forums frown on posting links to other forums so I will just quote. Poster #1 "I worked for a research company for a few years looking into ways of reducing NOX while running lean, we found we could very safely run around 16-18:1 on light throttle and low load with no adverse affect on the engine, we had a few test vehicles that coved tens of thousands of miles on the road and dyno with no damage to the engines. however running any leaner than around 17.5:1 will drop the efficiency of the combustion so low it will negate any fuel savings, we had one engine running at 19-20:1 for some time with no damage, it didn’t drive that great but it was running!! We only did it to find out how lean you can go.. With our testing we found lean cruise did not make a huge saving in fuel economy, to the extent the technology need to run lean with low NOX cost more than the savings made over an average vehicle life." Poster #2 "In the USA, the EPA/CARB want to reduce NOx emissions (which are produced when gasoline engine runs lean), so gasoline engines won't be having LC from the factory..." Poster #1 "That’s the reason why we where working on a system in decrees NOx to a level that was accepted by the EPA/CARB while running an engine very lean. I spent two years in Seattle working on it, we developed a system that would reduce the NOx buy around 90% while running lean but that was still not good enough for the EPA."
  7. Nekroman, que paso con el video? I will be going to Irwindale Thursday if you guys want to go also.
  8. My buddy with the Hemi Ram will be in Irwindale Thursday if you want to run him.
  9. No problem I have a couple of buddies here in Cali that will run ya. They will be at Irwindale this thursday or you can let me know when and where. Let me no and I will set this up ASAP.

A lot of people using the "Lean Cruise" have also found out that it lowers their EGT's. From what I have read 15-17.5 is the best for lean cruise but you should also ad timing to improve throttle response. "More timing should compensate for the slower burn and lower temps". That is good at idle or cruise but at WOT going leaner should increase your EGT's.
  11. Yes, Lonnie has done 13.1 on his QC here in CA and he just went 8.24 in the 8th yesterday at Irwindale so he should be in the 12's soon. He swapped in my differential with 4.56's vs his 3.92's.

I understand exactly what you are getting at. It makes perfect sense, if you are making say 300 rwhp with a 11:1 AFR and the same hp with a 12:1 and 13:1 but the EGT's at 13:1 is 1600F and 12:1 gives you 1500F and 11:1 also gives you 1600F then you should go with 12:1 since it gives the same hp but lowers your EGT's to a safer level. I used to get 1600F with the Hemi at 7PSI all the time. One time while power braking at a stop I looked at the EGT gauge and it was way past the 1600(only marks up to 1600) but dropping quickly. Turns out it got so hot it burned the probe. BTW, there was no tuning available for the Hemi's at the time so because I was not in WOT(open loop) the a/f was still in the 14.7 range under boost. Gotta love EFI Live.......
  13. Yes, to much timing for 91. Are you going to dyno it? That is the only way to tell if you make more/less hp by advancing/retarding timing. You will not be able to tell a 1-10 hp difference using the ole butt dyno. Since the racing gas is free then I would keep using it also but that does not necessarily mean you are benefiting from more timing. Only a dyno will tell you.
  14. You need to put it on the dyno to see if there are any gains at that high of timing. If you are getting the most hp at say 27 and see no additional hp on 30 then why have it that high. If you do see higher hp at 30 and have no knock by all means leave it there. If 30 sees no knock but does not show any hp increase then you should lower it so you have more of a cushion before knocking in case of a bad batch of gas or high air/coolant temps etc. The only way to know for sure if you are benefiting from that amount of timing is to put it on the dyno. BTW, did you see me beat that Mercedes lat Saturday? I also got beat by a diesel Ram that day. I wanted to go again but too many delays for incidents at the track. Sorry to hear about your ticket on the Metrolink.
  15. Where is the vid, lol. I need to burn that vid so no one can see it because I was trying to take it easy on the start and had a R/T of .817 to his .144 and was beat terribly, lol.
  16. We have almost identical times. Here is my time: 60' 2.122 330 5.846 1/8 9.035 MPH 76.73 1000 11.844 1/4 14.260 MPH 92.99 Which run did you get the 14.2 against my buddy in the Diesel Ram or the 13.9 against the Mercedes? Here is my 2nd run with the DR's: 60' 1.972 330 5.665 1/8 8.824 MPH 77.26 1000 11.595 1/4 13.958 MPH 95.16 On the first run I went easy because of the street tires and on the second run I smashed the throttle and spun into 2nd and hit the rev limiter and my DIC was showing ABS and Reduced Engine Power messages. I had fun, too bad there were so many cars breaking down I would have loved to get 2 more runs in. It was cool meeting both of you. We need to hook up again another time.
  17. So how did you do? I went and did a 14.2 with the street tires and a 13.9 with the DR's. I was not able to do any more runs as people kept breaking down and the track would close to clean up any oil spills.
  18. Tomorrow March 7th the CA Speedway will be open for test n' tune. Gates open at 6:00 am so if anyone else wants to go we can meet up there. I know it's late notice but I just found out today.
  19. I do that all the time. Mine is setup with higher shift points, zero shift times, different TCC lockup and higher trans pressure with the tow/haul button on. It shift very firm when I have it this way but for lugging around town it is a little to hard so I have it setup much softer in "Normal"(tow/haul off) mode. I can chirp the tires at the 1-2 shift with tow/haul on at light throttle.
  20. What gears are in yours now? What gears are in the 14 bolt?
  21. I am always down for a race problem is they always want to race when I am in my DD(1993 Accord) but never when I am in the truck. Sometimes I just go out to see if anyone bites. I don;t mind losing either as at this point I am not even fast. BTW, they are many fast Hemi's here in Cali and a lot in TX too. My friends QC does 13.2 with just bolt-ons.
  22. Yeh, I just picked one up for $500 from an 06 SSS with 4K miles and it was bolt in just swapped the disk because it came with drum brakes. It even had a factory type Posi in it and the same gear ratio(3.73) that I had. I was told I might need to shorten the driveshaft because I have a RC but it bolted right in with no modding.
  23. It also changes "Shift Times" so it will shift quicker and create less heat in the tranny. I have mine setup for "Race" mode with zero's for shift times but I have a built tranny.
  24. The title had me going. I thought he beat(surprised) you. Good kill... I tried racing a Black QC but he did not want any. I was pumping gas when he took off from a signal and he had a very load exhaust so I jumped in the truck and chased him down. There were two cars between us so I kept following until both cars turned I was directly behind him. When he turned left onto a small street I though he had heard my peal at the following light and wanted a more remote location so I followed him. I power slided through the corner and was on his ass but he turned into a gated trailer park and did not come out. Oh well maybe next time.
