I hope so. but you can run it first

I agree I have not found a good WOT tuning spot...its hard to keep it WOT.

I think I am gonna get a LC1 and mount it forever in the truck :)

You will be happy with the LC1, I have it and works great. Just install it per the instruction otherwise it will give you trouble, after all it is a precision instrument and it is sensitive to grounds.

As far as WOT tunning... you can also use your brakes to hold your speed and put a load on your motor to tune high RPM ranges without having to hit crazy speeds, like a load bearing dyno. I did this on my truck when I was tunning the higher end of my VE table. Just don't hold the brakes too long and give them enough time to cool down so that you don't compleatly kill your rotors/pads.

Well guys took the truck to west bend dyno today and the beast put down some nasty numbers. She made 465 hp and 420 ft pounds of torque at the wheels on a mustang dyno. :chevy: Brad tuned it under Zippy's watchfull eye...thank's for all the help Zippy!!

We were expecting around 450 hp with this build, needless to say....I am really happy with the results. Pretty damm good for a first time tuner if you ask me. I don't know how I'm ever going to pay you back for all the time you put into this Brad.....I'm to damm old to be making anymore kids so I won't be naming my next one after you .....probably gonna have to wait awhile untill I have some grand kids :D

i was amazed at everything the truck did. It made more hp then i thought it would through the truck intake, the torque curve is pretty flat only bowing about 25 or so, and the truck still peaked at over 6300 with the truck intake. it was a fun project and i learned A lOT about tuning, like how much i didn't understand how much time zippy puts into tuning a truck. But its was very cool to see 2 and 3% changes really change things on the dyno. Now off to the track and see what she'll do!!!! I think she's going to 60 foot pretty good.

I can't thank Zippy enough for sharing his experience and knowledge with me.

How high did you guys end up winding it over 6400 to get it to 465? or were you able to pick it up from 441 and 390 below 6400 somehow? Or was the converter not yet locking at WOT?

took me a while...but now i know who you are. Thanks for all the help on the dyno as well! I used your suggestion and locked the converter with the live table in hp tuners. That picked the torque up to 4 something but didn't help the HP as much. I pulled .5 of knock out in 2 areas, then we tried commanding a 12.56 AFR all the way through the pull instead of leaning it out in the upper revs, and it went from 440 to 450 and made the gain across the whole curve(brad overlaid them for us) and the torque went up 7 i think. So in that that dyno test we finished at 450 hp, i forget what mode that was, it was the 6 second pull. then we went into sim mode for the last pull and it made 465 in that mode, but it took FOREVER to peak out, the log showed the truck going 147 mph on that pull, and i'm guessing 150 is all she'd do with that much load on the rollers. We left the sheets at Brad house, so if you stop by they're laying there. Maybe tomorrow i can pick them up.

we also tried a 12.41 AFR across the board and it lost hp and TQ again so 12.56 is were we left it.

i think we're going to the track friday night if you want to come out.

Yeah ill haveto see if the wife would want to go down there, id bring the TBSS and id be interested in lining that up against the black truck for giggles, the wife will be racing it mostly since its her truck and she needs more seat time.

You guys put together a nice thread about your build. I agree Zippy is the Man! It makes a world of differance having a expert there to help. I cant wait for the track numbers and the second stage of dialing her in.

Pending weather, we will be there. We should be easy to spot, Black SS and Blue SS.
