1BAD2K
Got all the old seats and carpet out and put in the SSS harness and seats to make sure all airbag functions and everything was retained. Now it's time to take it back out and dynamat this entire interior
1BAD2K
Anyone know a reputable vinyl maker that makes decals that can take some heat? I want to get black decals shaped just like the corvette logo, except to say silverado in the silverado ss font.
rickyrick562
John (idahoblkss) does good work. He made some for me a few years back.
1BAD2K
Okay small update. Yeah yeah, this doesn't make the truck go faster, but it will make it more enjoyable lol. Dynamat'd the whole thing nearly, just have the doors to d. Also, got my stereo all here. Went with polk mm6501 6.75" component set, polk db461p 4x6" plate speakers and rockford fosgate pbr300x4 4 channel amp. This is will fit perfectly in the place where the stock bose amp was. You can see in the picture how small it is compared to factory bose lux amp and my wallet (Which is now empty again.) Anyways, should make for an enjoyable cruiser. 1BAD2K
Well after having some tcc slippage, I decided to over do it and get a circle D billet pro 265mm triple disc lockup converter, and a tci machined flexplate. Going to yank the 80e back out next week and have it pulled apart for some valve body mods like shift kit and dual feed. Trans should be very stout at that point. I'm going to go to 4.10 gears soon, because that 80e first gear is a DOG. Also had to do something in the looks department. The stock 20" chromies are for sale to make way for these bad boys. 22x9 all around with 285 35 22 pirellis. Gotta keep the same tire size all around to be able to keep the awd, so this is the next best options. Staggered offset to give it a nice stance. LilEz02
Those some killer wheels. Love this build. Keep pics coming!
1BAD2K
Thanks guys. I wanted to do a little mockup to see how it's gonna look with the wheels and brakes. Looks nice, but I came to a pretty bad realization. The front wheel spoke is going to contact the caliper face I believe. Rears are fine luckily. Not sure where to go with that at this point... Here is how the rear will look. Edited July 22, 2015 by 1BAD2K (see edit history)
LilEz02
Can you tell from mock up how bad they will contact? Is it something the manufacture can adress with a different offset or size? That's a bummer man. Sorry to hear. It's always gotta be something.
1BAD2K
Yeah man, it def was a bad feeling. I think it is going to be a very small amount. I talked to intro wheels and they said that the pad of the wheel would have to be taller. This would require a new wheel center which is basically be buying 2 new front wheels. They recommended a spacer. I spoke with baer brakes and they make a 0.25" billet spacer and said it would work perfect so hopefully that will do it. Gonna install the brakes to check next weekend hopefully. It is always something. Seems like nothing can ever JUST WORK right and on the first try lol. Denaliguy
I've basically built mine and my friends trucks all in my front yard/driveway and I always tell them that if nothing goes wrong, I didn't do something right in the first place.
