  1. I can't remember if it's under the distributor... I get the feeling they did that on the previous generation of engines... I think on the TBI it's below one of the manifolds, i'm leaning towards passenger side... But that might be the knock sensor...

I'm starting to confuse myself... Check below (as is underneath vertically) the manifolds... I'm pretty sure that's where they are.

Of course google is a pretty good place to check too.

  2. Wow, that's impressive. Around here it's about 3.00 for premium and 2.89 for 105 octane.

    Cheaper for 105?!

I wish I was that lucky, where I'm at it's right around 4.75/gallon for 110 (unleaded), and around 7.00/gallon for 118 (leaded). Plus there's only one station to buy it from. Period. Just one.

I've got a good hook-up though and I buy a 5 gallon drum for $50 of pure or slight methanol mix 116 racing fuel. I put that in the Phaeton one day... Had to turn the traction control off to start moving after stop signs and red lights...

  3. I know what you mean about getting choked up... I had to watch my '88 V30 454 Dually drive away from me with it's new owner less than 2 days ago... I really did almost cry thinking about all the great times I had in it, and there have already been so many times where that truck would have come in handy to have... I couldn't stand getting rid of something that has never failed me before...

Although the guy who bought really underestimated the truck... He ended up doing a massive smoke show trying to scoot out into traffic, that both made me smile and shed a tear at the same time...

    SOLD BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!

  4. I am the assistant manager, small-job mechanic, construction engineer, landscaper, telecommunication engineer, and truck driver for a fairly large children's camp here on cape cod. My father has been involved at this camp for over 50 years (as a camper and employee), and I have been involved here since before I was born. They pay my bills to go to school, keep me up on my American Red Cross lifeguarding/water safety/cpr/first aid/small craft safety/and aed certifications, and I meet people from all over the world through them. I have done just about every job I could do there (short of accounting, not a big fan of knowing how much money is going where), and I hope someday to be the general grounds manager there...

it isn't incredibly glamorous, but imo a good work environment (very friendly co-workers, super flexible hours, and job security) outweighs a job that doesn't have those conveniences but pays higher.

I make do with the bills... In a few years i'll be off hourly and on to salary (hello 6-digit income), and I'll be working towards my early retirement.

  5. I've had my mac powerbook g4 17" for a few years now, and I love it. Runs just a quick as the day I got, has a gorgeous user friendly interface, and does everything imaginable as far as graphics and video editing goes (which is what I use it for).

    Specs:

    Machine Model: PowerBook G4 17"

    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)

    Number Of CPUs: 1

    CPU Speed: 1.5 GHz

L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB

    Memory: 512 MB

    Bus Speed: 167 MHz

It has an 80gig HD, which is all I really need. It doesn't run nearly as many applications as windows does (duh), but I don't need it to. And it's true, I've never got (or even heard of anyone getting) a virus on one of these, and I have no pop-ups or spyware to worry about. I'm actually thinking about buying a new one pretty soon, to get some more processor power and the new Mac OS...

  6. Do you have anything done to your truck. I have a cai, throttle body spacer, programmer, and exaust and my fastest time in the 1/8 has been a 9.20.

Lose the TB spacer, get a cat-back and an in person tune... I'll be you shave .2 off your 60ft, at least...

  7. My money lies with the ballast. It sounds to me like it's not properly igniting the bulb when the system is cold (if it takes you a few tries to get them on)

  8. you must have done the fold down mod on your seat. I just mounted mine directly to the wall because to see it you have to take the seat completely out unless you can fold yours down. IMO like in my case just mount it to the wall because no one will ever see it.

I don't want to mount it to the wall because I don't want the screws sticking out the other side of the metal, and I'd rather not destroy the integrity of that part of the truck... I just think that drilling holes there would be an invitation for rust and other problems...

I don't mind to the rear seat fold down mod, but for the install I'd have the rear seat out anyways... So it doesn't matter much to me...

  9. To everyone who mounted their Amp(s) behind the seat on the rear wall, I want to do this and make it look nice and neat, but I'm obviously not going to drill them in thru the rear wall... I was curious where everyone who did this got their amp board from? Is it something you bought? Or did you just cut a piece of MDF or something to fit behind the seat... If that's the case, how is it secured? And how much space do you have behind it to run wires?

I'm just trying to think of a nice solution to make everything look nice and neat and clean, with next to no wires showing... Let me know what's possible please...

  10. I've got them in my Cuberland Farms and at my Mobile stations... I haven't tried them yet but my friends say it's not worth it because the taste of pickle is so strong... Other than that I've heard good things...
