  1. Alright I did some more research and it seems that I just need to use a big slide hammer and they should pop free. Does anybody know for sure? And where can I get the adjustor locks for the carrier adjustors, I know where I can get the rest of the bearings and seal for teh rebuld but haven't seen these listed anywhere?
  2. Alright guys I have been searching the internet for hours now and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I am currently rebuilding my front diff on my 03 SS, trying to get rid of the famous front end growl and I have the diff removed from the truck but can't get the axle shafts removed from the diff. I know that they don't have C-clips like the rear diff that would be holding the shafts in, but I can't figure out how to get the axles out. For you guys that have done this before how did you get the axle shafts out of the housing?
  3. Maybe something changed for 2005 but on my 2003 you turn the key on with the engine still off and press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times then it should flash and reset itself. I think alot of GM vehicles are this way.
  4. Hey thanks for all the tips guys, I'm still trying to find the best place to buy parts for the t-case. Is there anyplace besides the dealers that can get these parts?
  5. Yeah, I'm at 58K but I was thinking about doing it anyways just to get it out of the way. Where is the best place to buy parts for these units?
  6. So the time has come to start making my plans for this winter. Currently I have a few small plans for my truck that I have started collecting parts for, first I will be installing headers, torque convertor, notching out the rear frame so it stops hitting the bump stops since the drop, and possibly new shocks and sway bars. The other thing I would like to do when I have the transfer case off for the torque convertor install is replace the rear output shaft bearing. I have noticed that I am starting to develop a little radial play in the output shaft and I would like to address it before it causes other issues. This site has pretty good instructions on how to rebuild the NVG-149 --> http://www.denalitrucks.com/documents.htm And I have purchased an output shaft bearing, but I am wondering if anybody else has done this before? I have access to a press as well as the necessary gear pullers, does anybody have any advice or tips for doing this? It appears I just use RTV and no gasket to seal it but is there anything else that will be needed, and is there any place I can buy individual parts or rebuild kits for the transfer case? My other quick question, does anybody know if there is a rebuild manual for the front diff on the SS, or if there are parts available for the diff, I may need another project come spring time?
  7. What does the crankshaft variation learn do? And as 1BadSilvy asked where can I get it done? When I got my tune I used a different ECM and once I got it back I never really felt the gains that I expected, it seems to run fine, just not much better than stock. So I was wondering if this crankshaft variation learn may have something to do with it? Any thoughts?
  8. What do you charge to do a pair of tail lights? And if I wanted my third brake light done also what would that cost?
  9. My addiction is atv XC racing. Between the quad, parts to keep it running, mods, gas, race fees, and medical expenses over the last two years I could easily have had a second SS.
  10. Hey thanks for the info guys. I am kind just gathering parts when I find a good deal to go to 3/4 eventually so I'll probably be looking for so torsion keys this winter and maybe do the drop then. I need to wait until I pick up another truck that I can use to haul my quad to the races and back some of the parking lots are pretty sloppy and I need the ground clearance for a little longer. Also who has the best deal on shims? I hate to just buy a couple sets of them just to try different ones but if I could find a good deal then it wouldn't be so bad. usabodygaurd you have a new PM.
  11. Hey I have a 2003 SSS with spindles in the front and 2" belltech shackles in the rear. I need a little more in the rear. Do you know if these hangers will work with that set up, and approximately how much drop that would give me? If you know these will work with my current setup and they put me somewere in the 3-4" drop area then consider them sold. Thanks, Eric P.S. Why are you selling them?
  12. I'll be cheering for the Twins too, growing up in MN I've been a fan of theirs since they won the World Series back in '87 and '91. I was born in '84 though so I was still pretty young. I don't know how they managed to pull off the win last night, but I hope that they didn't use up all their magic cause their gonna need it tonight.
  13. Bought mine used with 30K on it for $22K back on 7/7/07. It now has 51K miles and I owe around 9K, but by this time next year I hope to have the title in my hand.
  14. Does anybody have a set of belltech drop spindles PN 2508 laying around collecting dust. I am planning on picking up a set in the next two weeks and if someone has a set they want to get rid of for a reasonable price shipped to Indiana I would be all for it. Let me know what you got!
  15. Man I wish I had the extra cash laying around, but I might have to wait a few years before one of those is sitting in my garage next to the SSS.
  16. I rarely see one around here, I'm just on the south side of Indy. Maybe one a month.
  17. So are you going to give us a hint of what it is you are thinking of doing?
  18. I use ramps but the owner before me had already scrapped up the tailgate cap so it doesn't make me feel so bad. Anyways it always looks pretty sweet rolling up to the races with a shined up black SSS, and a yellow and black YFZ sitting in the back.
  19. Thanks for the recommendations guys, guess all I needed was a bigger hammer. Got it all put back together, and the truck drive like it's supposed to again, no more noises.
  20. I'm gonna have to agree with Mr. P on this one. When I split with my last serious GF I hit the gym, started racing my XC races on my four wheeler, and went back to school for my MBA. Now I'm in much better shape, making more money, and having a blast racing, and plus I have a way cooler GF now. Trust me just find a couple of good hobbies and it will all work out, ohh and theres nothing wrong with going out and drinking way to much and finding some random girl either.
  21. My front passanger side wheel hub assembly had a bearing failure now I have the new hub assembly but I can't get the old one off. I started by removing the brake caliper and rotor then the 36mm axle nut and the three bolts on the back side but I can not for the life of me get the hub assembly to move. For those of you that have done this before what did you use to get the hub out of the spindle?
  22. Also I don't know how often you do any towing but haven't there been issues with the TB TC holding up when pulling a load?
  23. I can't say I'm a big fan of that, but I don't really care for convertibles anyways.
