  1. I built a box for mine, it was really easy only took about 5 hours total with carpeting here it is incase you need an idea- I put my avic D3 in this weekend. I still havent hooked up the parking brake wire- Ive been told I can just put it on a switch and be able to watch dvds when Im moving- Is that right or can I just ground it??? I also cant get my phone to connect with the bluetooth adapter, but Im gonna hook up the rest of the stuff and get it all finished before I call pioneer support for help. I havent hooked up the rear view camera stuff or the VSS wire yet either. Where did you guys tap in for the VSS wire anyway? I looked it up in SI at my dealership and found the wire that goes to the cluster, but i dont know if it will work cause it goes to the BCM first. Should I just tap in at the transfer case where the VSS is?
  2. I know this thread is kinda old but heres mine- its got belltech spindles up front and DJM shackles + hangers in back. Also belltech shocks front + rear. The wheels are just 20's with the tires from stock SS wheels, they rub sometimes but nothing major.
  3. We got one that color at our dealership and I got to PDI it. Its a great color, I think it looks better in your pics than in person over here on the other coast since you have the cali sun helping you out... I love driving around in the new vettes, it was funny one time when I was driving a red C6 ZO6- sitting at a light and some guy in a red C5 ZO6 stuck his arm out the window and waved when he drove by me. He stared me down like how the hell does that young ass kid have one of those.
  4. Im about to buy one from a friend whos had it sitting in his garage for like 2 years and never finished it. Its just the frame, steering stuff and a GSXR 750 that I can take the motor out of. The best part- $300 for everything. I dont have anywhere to ride it I just cant pass up a deal like this. Ill post pics when I get it, it might be a few weeks though
  5. I got a 4yr 48K mile warranty for like $2800 I think. Ive had my truck for about 5 months and Ive already used almost $2000 in repairs with it- wheel bearings, a seat motor and some other small stuff... Mines got 70K on it now and I bought it with 63K on it
  6. I bought a set of 8000K's on ebay a while ago for my old car, and they turned out to be the same bulbs as my truck so I put em in it. One of the bulbs went out and I bought a set of replacement bulbs from plasmagarage.com for like $150 I think. They are great bulbs and are way brighter than before, they sell full kits too so you should check them out. They come with a warranty too
  7. I looked it up at work in SI and there was a bulletin on how to fix it. I wrote the directions in some other thread about the wind noise on here so if you search you can find it. You just have to pop off the door panel and bend the metal window frame a little and it fixes it. Ive done it to my truck and a few others at work
  8. Theyre just some black american racing wheels, the only all black ones I could find cause I didnt want a polished lip. It sucks cause they look stupid without tire shine on my tires cause they are so much darker than the rubber. Heres my truck- I just raced a red titan with like 22's or 23's a minute ago on my way home from bluffton. We were dead even from about 70-100 but when we slowed down and went from about a 50mph roll I pulled about 1.5 lengths on him up to 90mph... Those things are pretty fast, he had an exhaust and some other mods Im guessing. Do you know anyone that wants to buy a speaker box for under the rear seat?- for 2 12's. I just built it cause I was bored one weekend and I dont really want it
  9. yeah racing imports at high speeds sucks. I usually dont even bother. I used to have a turbo civic with 320whp so I know how fast those little bastards can be sometimes
  10. yeah its all black with black 20's, HIDs, tinted winshield, lowered... I just put on a corsa exhaust, foglights and soft tonneau cover last week. I just drove through beaufort an hour ago actually. Ive only seen like 2 other SS's around here
  11. I live on hilton head so Im in the middle of you guys
  12. If it was a major problem that occured while driving the MIL (-cel) would blink on and off, not just stay on like I assume it did. Cats are covered under the 8yr 80K warranty. They can tell what kind of code it was by looking at the tech2, which will tell them if the MIL was blinking or not when it shut off. Theres no way they can say it was caused by abuse if your'e telling the truth, call GM direct and talk to someone about it
  13. I just put my corsa sport catback on today- its not as loud as with the flowmaster but it sounds a lot better. I like it way more. I also have short tube headers on there. I was thinking about getting a tune from someone like zippy, please let me know how much it helps when you get it done since we have almost the same setup and Im curious. thanks
  14. yeah ive been thinking of making a heat shield for it, I just dont have access to a brake anymore so I dont want to try to bend it in a vice cause it will look like ass. Ill think of something though. Im gonna take a trip to home depot today. And I only did it in mild steel cause I was gonna paint it black anyway- I kinda got an all black theme going with my truck
  15. Drivetrain: AWD Drop: about 3" up front/4" rear (forgot to measure stock height) Front: belltech drop spindles + a few turns on the keys Rear: DJM shackles + hangers, polyurethane slim bump stops Adjustment: just an alignment but im getting some shims Shocks: Belltech nitro drop 2 Other: energy suspension front sway bar bushings + end links Total Cost: $650 It took me and 2 friends 6 hours to install everything, it was a bitch but it was defenitely worth it. It rides sooooo nice and handles great. I am thinking about notching the frame though cause the back hits all the damn time. Heres some pics:
  16. Oh yeah, I think I spent like $100 total on the parts and shipping, including the filter. Good luck!
  17. I wasnt about to pay $200+ for a K&N thats exactly the same as this so I made my own: Parts: 4" 45deg bend w/ 8" legs 90deg 4" coupling 4" to 3.75" adapter (for MAFS) You will also need a cone air filter with a 4" inlet, I used a K&N I had laying around. And you will need some screw type hose clamps, you can use some of the stock ones, I think I had to buy 3 extras total. It was really easy it only took about 30 minutes total to install: WARNING: I am not responsible if you hurt yourself because there is some cutting you must do with a razor blade and it is dangerous if you dont know what youre doing. Always cut with the blade facing away from you and keep your fingers away from it! 1. Remove the IM cover. Take off all the stock intake stuff, including the airbox and the little metal tray that was under it so you get more airflow to the filter from outside. Unplug the MAFS. 2. Cut the 90deg coupling so there is only about 1" left on one side, enough so it will slip onto the TB and you can tighten it down(you probably dont have to do this if you have e-fans, but I did). Save the leftover 4" rubber piece, you will use it later. I used a razor to cut it too but be very careful. 3.Eyeball where the coupling will hit the fan shroud and cut it carefully with a razor knife, I got lucky and got it on the first time. 4.Cut about 3 3/4" length off one end of the metal pipe, that will be the side the MAFS goes on so mark it somehow. 5.The 4" to 3 3/4" adaper slides onto the MAFS on the TB side, I think I had to wrap a few layers of tape around the MAFS so it fit on there snugly. Then that gets attached to the end of the metal pipe with that leftover 4" rubber piece you cut off of the 90deg coupling. 6.Now you can either attach the air filter to the other side of it and put it all in together, or put it in like it is then attach the air filter once the pipe is installed. Either way just snug down the hose clamps and test fit everything, then you can move it around to where you want it and tighten them down. I am going to make some kind of bracket for the filter cause it moves around a little bit. Ill post that up when I do something. If you have any questions PM me
  18. I was about to get one but I ordered a pioneer avic d3 instead. The only bad part is mine only has a 6.1" screen, but I wanted to get the volume knob that turns instead of the buttons you press, and it was the same price but came with a bluetooth adapter, ipod adapter and install kit and wiring harness. Also I wanted the customizable screen too. Ill take some pics when I get it in. I really like the 7100 though, it was a tough decision to make
  19. I need a double din nav/tv for my truck
  20. theres no way to calibrate the temp sensor, you just need a new sensor I guess, or move it to the right place. I painted over mine and it is only off by a few degrees at times
  21. Try this stuff- http://gatorbackcoatings.com/protective2/home.htm I got the paint system and the glass system kits, I havent put the paint stuff on yet but I did the glass last weekend. It is kind of a pain to put on but its supposed to last like 2 years, and so far its working great. I used a clay bar on my truck last weekend and Im gonna do the paint stuff saturday. Ill try to get some pics if its nice out. The guy told me it doesnt mask scratches but it protects the paint so well that you dont have to use soap when you wash it, you just hose it off with water... I guess Ill find out soon enough. It was like $50 for the paint kit and $26 for the glass
  22. Did you get yours done with them? That looks like a good deal and I was thinking about trying them...
  23. cool thanks- Ill do some more research on it, and look up some prices here at work. I wouldnt bother but I am gonna be going turbo sometime, and I just think it would look sweet
  24. I did mine yesterday, I just used some big galvanized nuts that were an inch high, I barely got the stock bolts to screw back on to the studs, but it worked. When you take them off make sure you loosen the 18mm nut in the middle cause it holds those 2 metal cables on that keep the seat from lifting up when you unbolt the brackets. Ill post pics sometime this week if i can, I still havent test fitted to see if the box fits, i might have to make some 2" spacers. Would anyone be interested in buying some cause I can make them easy- I have a welder so I can weld in the new studs too- PM me
