Alignment Question- After Lowering Front 3"
Turbocoop replied to Turbocoop's topic in Suspension & Brakes
They did it again and it is a lot better now. I still wanna check it myself but thats too much of a pain in the ass. They said their alignment machine was just recalibrated cause a few other people complained about their alignments, but I think the guy that did it just sucked... Thanks for the help -
Install Quote On Sk/vette Servo
Turbocoop replied to 00silverad0's topic in AWD, Differential, & Transmission Tech
Are the corvette servos really any different than the stock ones? Why dont you just turn the little torx head screw on the back of the pressure regulator and bump the tranny pressure up like 20psi, I think its a #15 torx or something really small like that. You only want to turn it like 1/8th of an inch or it will shift too hard. -
The bed and the cab dont line up evenly and almost every other SS I see around is like that too. They need to make it a damn recall cause it looks like shit. The stereo isnt loud enough, and of course its not fast enough but thats gonna change

Alignment Question- After Lowering Front 3"
Turbocoop replied to Turbocoop's topic in Suspension & Brakes
So is this the kit you used, or did you even use a kit on yours? The only one for 99+ silverados says 2wd- does that matter? I cant believe its the cheapest kit, Im never that lucky... I guess Ill give it a try. Thanks for the help Ill let everyone know how it turns out. -
I had to take my truck to a different shop to get it aligned cause our dealership is too sheap to get 20" wheel adapters for the rack... Anyway I lowered it about 3" in the the front and 4" in the back with belltech spindles, DJM shackles + hangers and a few good turns on the keys. I also put in 4 new belltech shocks. I could look at the front wheels and see the camber was waaaay off as soon as I was done, like I expected... Heres my question- Is it possible to get the camber back to within spec with it lowered this much? After I picked it up from the shop I can still look at the front wheels and see that the camber is almost the same as it was before. I got a 1yr warranty alignment program so I am going back there this weekend to raise hell. And the only reason I know they did anything is because before I took it to them the wheel was cocked to the left when going straight, and now its over on the right a little... Im thinking about just getting my $100 back and throwing on some regular wheels so I can do it myself at work cause this is BS.

I like how they look, especially in fog light mode. how much were they and where did you get them???
-
yeah I usually change mine whenever it gets to like 50%, it even seems like a long time when I go by that instead of mileage. Im only on my 2nd oil change so Ill start keeping track better

Video Of Electric Car Vs Ferrari Vs Porsche
Turbocoop replied to SilveradoEsEs's topic in Video & Photography
Thats pretty stupid to waste $150K building a piece of crap electric go kart just to run 11sec in a 1/4 mile and be able to say that you beat a ferrari and carrera gt. Id rather spend $150K to be able to say I own a ferrari -
Stock Black Silverado Tailgate Cap Part Number
Turbocoop replied to marcusaaron79's topic in General SS
I need some too, but how come on that site it said no applications available for 2003 Chevy 1500??? -
listen to him^^^-- call first cause they might not even do it if you didnt buy it from them. $150 is a damn good deal BTW

I looked up the price for the seat bottom- with my my employee discount its only like $70

at the dealership I work at we usually just do it for free anyway ever if youre out of waranty. GM files it under "goodwill", sometimes you might have to pay the labor but I doubt it. Every dealership knows about the problem. Theres a bunch of threads about this just look around

Looks good, I cant wait to get mine done

Wtb: Lowering Components- Spindles, Hangers, Shocks...
Turbocoop replied to Turbocoop's topic in For Sale/ Wanted
I got it all on and it doesnt shake anymore than it did before. I expected it with the aftermarket wheels, they were a bitch to balance. Im getting it aligned saturday, I wish I could do it myself but my shop is too cheap to get the 20" adapters for the wheel mounts... -
Cool, I might consider just buying the kit since everyone seems to have nothing bad to say about it. It would be nice to just take a few hours and bolt everything up rather than taking like a week for me to fab everything up and run into a bunch of setbacks and stuff like usual. I definitely will be making my own piping and throwing an intercooler up front cause running a turbo without one just doesnt seem right. Its gonna be a little longer before I have the $4K for the kit than it would to peice it together but Ill keep everyone posted when i finally get something going. I miss the sound of a turbo under my hood

I just thought the turbo smart stuff looked like ebay crap, plus ive never heard of that company before. The welds did look great, theyre all TIG right? Thats what it looked like. If I wanted to get a kit and have a turbo on in one day then it would be fine, Ive just had bad experiences with buying turbo kits and I told myself never to do it again. I talked to them and they said they were working on a new prototype manifold with a better/stronger design so I might look into that, cause thats the only thing im worried about- making a manifold thts strong enough to hold up to all the heat/vibration/weight of the turbo... One more thing- did it come with any sort of tuning program or ecu, or did you have to take it somewhere? Thanks

My First Truck- 03 Sss- Critique My Plans Experts
Turbocoop replied to Turbocoop's topic in Member Introductions
A bunch of people said it looked like a cop truck cause it was all blacked out with black wheels when it was higher. Now I like it a lot better. The spindles are belltech I think, I dont even remember cause I didnt look at the instructions much and I threw the boxes away as soon as I finished everything. I got em for like $240 shipped I can find the site if you want... -

I got the lowering kit on, it took about 6.5 hours to do total. I also installed the energy suspension sway bar bushings and end links. Heres what I put on: the front is 2" drop spindles and belltech nitro drop shocks, I also turned the torsion key bolt a few times, and I drilled a bunch of holes in the front bump stop thing. The back is DJM shackles and hangers and nitro drop 2 shocks. I forgot to measure it before but now it sits and exactly 33.25" to the top of the fender in the front and 33.5" in the back. Feel free to ask any questions if you plan on lowering yours Ill be glad to help, it was really a lot easier than I thought it would be- I didnt even have to drop the gas tank all the way out. before- after- I put on my flowmaster and corsa tip too -
