    mine did the same thing. i took the little matel peice off that it slides into and bent the taps in a little so it help the plastic tighter and it hasnt fallen down since

     

    This is my suggestion. Remove the metal retaining clip bend it to grip better and use epoxy. Epoxy the clip to the plastic pillar. If/when you need to remove the pillar, the clip should remain with the pillar and only pull out of the metal windshield frame.

     

    Of course, if you are looking for a quick fix and don't care about future servicing, glue the sucker!

    Welcome! Thank you for your service to this great country!

     

    To get your truck in the mid-low 12's it is going to take some cash however there are proven set-ups to get you there, many outlined here on this site. Here are just a few:

     

    1. TVS1900 / D1 / Vortec / turbo at 10psi, Headers, GOOD tuning and some transmission modifications - cost around $8k.

    2. 3400 stall converter, Headers, 150 wet shot of nitrous - cost around $4k.

    3. Solid 402/408 Stroker with converter and supporting mods (headers etc.) - 6-9K

    4. Heads/cam/intake with supporting modifications (converter headers etc.) and a small shot of N20 - 5-9k

     

    Regardless, it isn't cheap to go fast in a heavy truck. Read around, I personally would start with the strip section on this forum and look at the times where you want to be and build a set-up similar to what has been proven to work well. Good luck!

     

    ...Oh, and racing the lighntings is my favorite pastime. Most think an AWD full sized extended cab truck can't run with the big dogs...

    FS: Carbon Fiber Radiator Cover.

     

    This is not a cheap knock off or a CF laminate. This is a thick custom formed piece with an attractive tight twill fiber. Resin is thick and can be waxed and polished for extra shine. Made by SilveradoSS.com's own WICKEDOSIX (Art) a while back and in limited quantities. If you have something to show off under the hood, this piece should be mandatory.

     

    I am selling for substantially less than I bought it for and will include NEW retaining clips. This is a large piece that must be framed and boxed to ensure safe delivery. If you buy it, please be patient as I make a sturdy shipper for it.

    Did you wash your engine compartment? Alot of times moisture in the TB connection will throw the REP mode. Regardless it doesn't "hurt" the truck, the PCM is doing its job by keeping it in REP mode. A large amount of REP issues are related directly to the TB.
