  1. 57 series has the thicker black plastic tube. 77 series has the polished tube. Both use the same filter element.
  2. I use Severe Gear 75W90 in both my front and rear diffs. I don't have any DEFINITIVE proof that it's the best in the world, just personal experience... which has always been great in both my SSS's (I've had 2) and my Trans Am. I use it because it is set up for severe-duty use. With the truck, I haul my car and live where steep hill driving is constant, so it definitely gets tested often. With the car, I drag race and beat on it prettywell every time it's driven, and have never had any issues with the diffs in either. I've never had an analysis done on the fluid or done any longevity testing compared to other brands though, so that's the best "proof" I can provide. Here is a link to the product. The MSDS and Data Sheets are included, so you can see some test numbers and things like that. http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/gear-lube/severe-gear-75w-90/?code=SVGQT-EA I'm a dealer (in the process of becoming a vendor on here too), and do have shipping capability, but I doubt I could get it to you before the weekend. The closest distribution center to you would be Orlando, so my guess would be 3 business days.
  3. I also have a 57-series FIPK CAI. I replaced the K&N element with an AMSOIL Ea Filter. Works great!
  4. Yeah, they do have recommendations. At the time the SSS's were being made, GM called for Dexron III. That's since been updated to Dexron VI, per TSB 04-07-037D dated 11/21/07. Here was that TSB, if anyone is interested... http://www.atra.com/Dash/Fluid/ATFUsageBulletin.pdf As for the AMSOIL, let me know if you decide you would like to try it out. I can probably ship you what you would need, plus the filter, for less than you would pay local retail. It looks like the price should be a little less than the AC Delco fluid too. I don't mind you asking for a quote and shopping around either. To make price checking the Dex VI a little easier, the Delco part numbers are 88861003 for quarts and 88861045 for gallons. Here is info on the Fluid and Filter that our trucks use also. http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/transmission-fluid/automatic/signature-series-fuel-efficient-synthetic-automatic-transmission-fluid/?code=ATLQT-EA http://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/filters-and-by-pass-systems/transmission/wix-transmission-filter/?code=58608-EA
  5. Looks good man. I'd like to lose some altitude, but the terrain here isn't too lowrider friendly...
  6. Agreed. It's a little rough, but for the asking price, it is still a bargain.
  7. I thought the same thing when I read the title, Lol. The 8.1 is the problem. Honestly though, any other symptoms (check engine light, running like crap, etc.)? What kind of gas mileage is it getting?

    GMPP CAI PN#

I also found the K&N filter number that will work too. It's RE-0870. I doubt anyone with a GMPP would want to switch to the oiled filter, but maybe someone someday is looking for a dry filter replacement for their K&N filter, I figured having the numbers all in the same thread might help someone that's searching part numbers. Hope you don't mind the hijack. If you have any issue with it, let me know and I'll remove it.

    GMPP CAI PN#

The first one. Their search and ordering functions aren't case sensitive. As long as there are 2 A's it will show up. EaAU4090 is the actual code, but EAAU4090 or eaau4090 will also get you the correct one.

    GMPP CAI PN#

EXGM is right on with the 17801346. A couple other part numbers that you may find useful for it (it's apparently a pain in the butt to find a replacement filter if you don't know where to look). The GM filter element replacement for the GMPP CAI is part number 19302206. This is the current part number. The old number was 19202661. They are the same filter, just a number revision. Searching for replacements, I saw where someone measured the filter and was able to come up with a direct AEM replacement filter part number 21-2059DK. Assuming he was correct and this filter would work, there is also an AMSOIL EA filter direct replacement for it. It would be EaAU4090. The dimensions are stated as 6" base onset diameter, 4" Flange inside diameter, flange type centered, height 9.19" and top outside diameter 5.13", so any filter that is pretty close to that should work.
  11. I'd be glad to help any time I can.
  12. That's cool man. I understand. I'm glad that you use it, like it and share your support of the products.[emoji106]
  13. That truck was so ahead of its time, even the picture was taken in the future...
