  1. I was wondering about how the different options worked too. I sent Mervz a message about possibly becoming a supporting vendor a while back, but I never heard anything from him.
  2. I'd pull the stereo out and make sure the wires weren't hacked at some point. It sounds to me like there is contact being made somewhere between the constant power and the accessory. If the wires were cut, then taped back up at some point, maybe the tape has slipped some, exposing the wires and causing the yellow and red to touch. It either has to be that, or possibly something with the ignition switch not fully disengaging from the accessory position. I can take a look at it sometime if you need an extra pair of eyes.
  3. If he'd like to be, I could sign him up. LMAO.
  4. Awesome. Glad you got it taken care of.
  5. I agree with that completely. Like I said before, I'm not here to tell anyone that the stock GM stuff is bad, or that anyone is wrong for using their brand of choice. More than likely, (or at least hopefully) it's their choice for a reason. I basically became an AMSOIL Independent Dealer, because that made it cheaper for me to buy the product, and at the same time, be a good way for my friends to also get products as cheap as possible. I have a local Direct Dealer that is only a few miles down the road, so I can get my local customers things for the cheapest possible price. The ones that need shipped, I can ship for about the same or sometimes a little less than they could buy locally, unless they have a direct dealer right there too. I look at what I've got as a service and not a business, and I'm definitely not a salesman, so I'll never get rich off of it anyway. I just offer my opinions on my particular product and offer info about the testing that's been done. That way, you know what I offer and can make your own decisions. It doesn't hurt my feelings if someone doesn't feel the additional cost is justified, and I'm not pushing anyone who isn't sure if they can financially afford something other than the cheapest available stuff. People are different and have different needs, and AMSOIL doesn't meet everyone's. It does work great for those who can afford and justify it.
  6. I'm not one to say that the Dexron product is "crap". It is ADEQUATE. It meets all the specs and requirements that are needed to keep our vehicles running. AMSOIL is a superior product though in every aspect. There have been tons of field tests to collect physical data on both products and the AMSOIL was better in all fields. here is the current physical data sheet from Mobil.com for the Mobile DEXRON-VI atf: http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/Lubes/PDS/GLXXENPVLMOMobil_Dexron-VI_ATF.aspx In comparison, here is AMSOIL's Physical Data Sheet for the Synthetic Multi-Vehicle Auto Trans Fluid http://www.amsoil.com/lit/databulletins/g173.pdf The ATF listed above is AMSOIL's basic grade fluid. There is the Torque-Drive and Super-Shift Racing Trans fluid that are also available with even better stats. Price comparison for the two is for the Mobil DEXRON-VI - Retail $9.99. Retail for the AMSOIL is $11.60. As you can see in the two data sheets, every listed property is in favor of the AMSOIL. The Viscosity index is much higher at both 40 and 100 degrees, and has a much more impressive Viscosity Index. I'm not sure if you know what the Brookfield Viscosity test is, but, in a nutshell, It's a test that measures the torque that it takes to rotate something at a constant speed in oil at -40 degrees celcius. The lower the number, the number, the less torque it takes to spin what you are testing. Both companies participated in Brookfield Viscosity tests and the AMSOIL's number was 2000 cP lower than the Mobile. Those are the actual test numbers, but you can spout off results form tests all day long and not convince someone of anything. I'm aware of that. The only way to really make someone a believer is to do their own comparison. I really hope those that do post up their own experiences. I've not personally switched from the stock atf to the AMSOIL atf in the truck yet, but I have the oil. Going from Mobile 1 to the AMSOIL XL increased both my city and highway fuel economy by 2 MPG. Does that mean that the Mobile 1 oil is crap? Nope. Does that mean any of the other companies that paid the large fee to get GM to put their name on the DEXOS approved list are junk? Nope. Does it mean I feel that the AMSOIL is worth a few bucks more? Definitely. While I'm on that, I'll list too that AMSOIL chose not to pay the large fee to become DEXOS 1 (and DEXOS 2 for the diesel oil) approved so that they could do what they could to keep costs down. When the DEXOS requirements came out, AMSOIL was already meeting the requirements, but have since refined even more and are exceeding the DEXOS requirements in several areas and at least meeting all of them. Anyway, back to the ATF. I have already switched to it in my Trans Am and the trans temps decreased significantly. That's pretty important to me, because I am pretty hard on that vehicle and high temps tend to cause problems. Again, I could write a bunch of reasons why I personally like it better and think it's worth a couple more dollars a gallon, but that's going to be a waste of breath because it will be taken as a dealer talking up his product. The only thing I can say is talk to customers who have actually used the product and/or do your own comparisons.
  7. AMSOIL. I'm a dealer and get a good deal on it if you want to try it out. Sent from my LG-US670 using Tapatalk 2
  8. No kidding. Our parking tickets are about that much here...Lol.
  9. WTF??? lol. It sounds like you just need to fix the whole truck man.
  10. Lol, yeah. Great minds think alike, I guess.
  11. Wheel speed sensors are behind the front wheels. VSS is in the transfer case.
  12. That doesn't sound like the wheel speed sensors to me dude. I'm not even sure what to suggest at this point.
  13. As for the wheel speed sensors, you can unplug them from behind the wheel. It is a plug on the back of the hub assembly. Hopefully this pic helps some. In the pic, it is the plug coming off #5. With a bad wheel speed sensor though, it shouldn't be doing all the other things....just making the ABS kick in when you are about stopped. I didn't notice all the other things you have going on anyway. It definitely sounds like you have more problems than just that though. It very well could be the vehicle speed sensor on the trans or something like that. Hope you get it figured out.
  14. I've still got the stock hood on the truck, but the Trans Am has a fiberglass one. This past summer, it broke while I was doing 120+. It did catch on the secondary latch, which held (thank God), but it still made me just about poop myself. I could just see the thing going through the windshield. I ended up reinforcing it with two pieces of plate steel sandwiched around the fiberglass. Needless-to-say, I'll probably be going with the steel hood on the truck when the time comes.
  15. Is there like a mechanical buzzy sound associated with it too? I had a wheel speed sensor that took a poop, and it kind of shuddered a little and kicked in the abs right before stopping. It only did it when I was coming to a stop and didn't do it until the truck was almost completely stopped. Maybe try unhooking the wheel speed sensor plugs before spending any money. Mine never had the brake booster message with it though.
  16. Congrats! I've still got 1.5 years left still.
  17. That's better than what I paid for my 05 SS AWD...lol.
  18. It was kind of unnerving to me how simple it was to start these trucks without a key. I installed my own remote start on mine. When I had the truck taken apart to hook it up, I was messing around and found out that I could turn the ignition manually from the back side to the accessory setting without the key. I figured If I could do that, it would probably start the truck too....it did. As long as they had some basic hand tools to take off the panels of the lower dash and the steering column, they could start the truck without even having the key. On the other hand though, my truck wasn't locked with the alarm activated when I did that either, so maybe it would disable it..... I dunno
  19. Hmmm. Never heard of anything like that. Temp is all I've ever known to display up there...

My GPS said I maxed out at 138. That was on a pretty big straight stretch coming out of a heavily sloped left turn on a closed course in South Carolina. (easy enough to figure out where). We had an 80 mph speed limit, but I took it as have fun, you'll probably never get the experience again, lol. In all honesty, the SS feels alot more stable in the 120+ than the Trans Am did with its stock suspension.
  21. Since it seems to be a specific target there, and yours has already been moved in on, maybe you should let the department use yours as a bait truck and catch the assholes
  22. My cam'd and stalled Trans Am with 140K+ miles still gets over 25 on the highway. No way it should only be getting 15.
  23. Depends on it's formulation. For example, we have one that is listed as OEM Spec that is listed for OEM intervals, but it's good for several extra thousand miles or a couple extra months. There is an XL, which is listed for 10k miles or 6 months, and our top-of-the-line stuff is rated for 25k or 12 months. All three will go well past their listed application. I'm not sure what kind you were using, but if it wasn't Signature Series AMSOIL, it should probably be changed in 6-8 months or less, or 6-7k or less....again, maybe more or less depending on its rating. I wouldn't leave it in there for a year and a half as a habit, but I doubt it hurt anything.
