  1. Efans have nothing to do with adding a supercharger.
  2. He asked for opinions. Just because everyone's opinion does not match your own doesn't mean it's not valid. There are a lot of guys here with a very good amount of experience with these trucks. My opinion would be to go with a used MP112. As stated before it is your best bang for the buck. A maggie is a very simple install. The hardest part is the fuel pump. You wont be getting 100hp for $2500 with a cam.
  3. Also might want to look at the type of microfiber towels you are using and how you wash them. If you do anything other than let them hang dry you will produce static electricity. Make sure the towels you use aren't China junk either. If they stick to the imperfections on your hand they will stick to the imperfections on your paint.
  4. Go with the MP122 if you can find it. But they are harder to find and a little more expensive. Whichever you go just make sure you PIN THE CRANK!
  5. They probably wont cover it unless he has receipts to show he purchased it. Sorry to hear about your loss bro.
  6. Your truck sure doesn't like 3rd gear lol
  7. r1concepts rotors EBC yellow stuff pads SS brake line
  8. This. Those of you guessing close to 500 NA, you realize this is just a cam and bolt on truck with a big shot of nitrous?
  9. You might want to specify if you need digital or manual. They do not interchange.
  10. And this is the reason I bought a car that was a manual! I had to pay for the R&R on the trans many times on my Silverado becuase no one could build a converter correctly. Either that or I just had really bad luck with them. At the end of the day I ended up going with a stock 4l80 converter. Gave me the drivability I was looking for but still stalled decently high. 2500-2800.
  11. No it will not. Completely different. Is there a reason you need more RMPs? Is your truck manual?
  12. And thats the exact reason I bought a V. SOOO much more car and SOOO much more potential . I have a a CAI, tune and cut outs and put down 562hp at the wheels. I think the dyno was a little generous but still a good number. Smaller pulley and big a$$ heat exchanger will be install by the end of the week so we shall see how my numbers are after that.
  13. Saw one at the international auto show. Didn't even know is was an SS unit I got close enough to see the Brembos. I think the exterior styling went down 5 points. However the interior styling and creature comforts went up 5 points. The fact that you can't get it in a manual....down another 5 points. 5 years of innovation from GM and its the same speed as the GXP. Heck my GT with bolt ons went faster and looked 10 times better. I would have like to see some other engine and trans options. Word on the street if GM sells 3000 units a year they will "consider" other engine and trans options. However I have yet to see one on the road...which leads me to believe it will never happen. Funny thing is if you go to the dealer and get one "fully loaded" it means you got a full size spare and a sun roof. I wouldn't be surprised if the values of the SS fall as quickly as the other malibus and impalas.
  14. Trans is the weak link. At very least I would do a shift kit, servos and a trans cooler. Exhaust can be done later on down the road but not required. Oh and don't forget to pin the crank.
  15. 4-5k seem a little high. You can find them for under 3k. Think there is one for $2800 on the other forum. Then spend the rest on the trans.
  16. The blue really isn't as bright as some of the pictures make it seem. The blue is a nice royal blue color. My personal choice is the blue over the light blue but thats just me. Also I don't usually change the color the LCD screens for the mileage and gear indicator mainly because it makes it impossible to read during the day.
  17. No problem at at. Just let me know whenever you want to send it in. I'll get you taken care of. Steve
  18. I do not have specials. Prices are the same all the time. Heres a little more info on the corvette dic http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-tech/1736814-dic-control-panel.html GM will only warrantty the gauges if the vehicle is under 7 years old and under 70k mile. In a few scenarios I have seen dealership make exceptions. However they will usually tell you that they will only cover a portion of the cost. Which at $500 - $800 is sill a heck of a lot of money to be paid by the owner. Not to mention they will charge you and hours worth of labor to take the gauges out considering it can be done in 30 secs. If you could manage to talk the dealership into doing it for free then I would go that route first.
  19. What some people don't realize about the DIY gauge fix is that.... 1) You only replace the motors which is only have of what is actually done in a full rebuild. Granted that is the most common issue with these gauges but is not the only issue. A full rebuild not only fixes the current issues with your gauge cluster, but also fixes what will go bad later on down the road. 2) Most people don't know the proper way to solder. The circuit board is fragile and I have seen many people that tried to do it themselves and ruin the circuit board resulting in almost triple to cost for a replacement. 3) Most people do not have a clean static free environment to work on the circuit board. You are working with fragile electronic components and static electricity can reek havoc on these boards. Once again resulting in almost triple the cost to have it replaced. 4) Recalibrating your gauges using tape is inaccurate. If you compare many gauge clusters from different trucks you will see that not all of them reset in that same location. Electronic recalibration is the only accurate way to calibrate your gauges. Just some food for thought....
  20. Thanks for the recommendations guys! Hotrod I can definitely get you taken care of to get all your gauges back up and working with a lifetime warranty. If you desire, can also do an LED conversion on your gauges without the hot spots. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions! http://www.gmgaugeguy.com/ -Steve
  21. Thanks guys! Ya the pics always look so different out of the truck vs installed in the truck.
  22. I know I am a little behind the times and I have been extremely busy with the new baby and all but I finally managed to throw together a FB page. It's not 100% completed yet as I will be adding a lot more pictures. Unfortunately I have to do so copywriting since some competitors like to steal my pictures. Anywho! I'm trying to get my rep up! So I'd really like it if you liked my page! http://www.facebook.com/GmGaugeGuy1 Thanks Guys! Steve
