  1. JF-03-SS You are running stock wheels right? No interference with the 15" rotors and Z06 calipers. No use of spacers. Would hate to do this then have to end up using spacers.
  2. Im all jacked up on Mt. Dew! Woo hoo!
  3. The lift with 1.8 rockers should be .556
  4. Slightly. Some different internals, 5 pinion planetary vs 4 pinion. Some others but can't think of them right off the top of my head. Pretty much the same all in all.
  5. The Dynatech SuperMaxx long tube headers can be had with three combinations, just the headers, headers and off road extentions (no cats), or with headers and high flow cats. They will run you anywhere from about $900 for just the headers to $1500 for the headers with cats. Yes they are replacements for the factory cats, but a good tuner should be able to keep you with in emmissions specs. PS We go through Cypress each time we go to see the in-laws. They are in The Woodlands.
  6. Good write up Mr. P! I've rebuilt several 700R4's and one 4L60, always using Alto frictions. One thing that I caught that confused me "plug the 3rd accumulator passage" I've never heard of this. What do you mean and how do you go about this? Thanks again, learn something new every day.
  7. Glad you made it back safely!! Thank you for your service!
  8. Funny I just found this today. Is this for the Long LPD47391 and if so are these still available? Been pondering how to plumb the cooler and really thought it to be a waste to use AN fittings for such a short run.
  9. Or a pic of the C2 Vette next to the yeller one. The LS3 in the Camaro is nice 422 hp, same motor as the stock Vette. Got a buddy over in Houston that just put a deposit down on a 6 sp Challenger, seems like a sweet ride, like the looks. Least its not a blue oval !
  10. ET for the Naval Oceanographic Office. Which stands for Every Thing (actually its Electronics Technician). We maintain, operate, and install sonars, radars, Satcom equipment, network equipment, computers, test equipment, and specialized oceanographic equipment. Not to mention do all the shipping, receiving, ordering, and inventory of everything. We are deployed 6 months (roughly two at a time) out of the year, just two of us, and we keep everything going. The other 6 months we are back in the office doing training, and repairing gear that we can't repair out on the ship. Oh I've got a new job coming up ... 'bout to be a DADDY!!!
  11. I don't care who you are ... That's funny right there. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
  12. I've got a VR6 also. It's better than stock (I think) but there surely isn't 25HP in it. Not so sure the "ram air" is all that great either, the bridge just sorta hangs there. Guess it does provide a path for the air, but with the hood liner it just bounces around (not smoothly.) I've had it on about a year now and you can tell on the hood liner where the "ram air" sits form all the moisture and dust that has accumulated. Also the fit of the whole unit is kinda shakey. Not really enough lip to get the hose clamps to bite on over the rubber attachment tubes.
  13. Seriously I was checking the RPO codes when I first bought it. Sure enough it comes back as light oak or some such, I didn't believe it but when I went out for lunch that day yea it looks tan.
  14. Mines red exterior but the interior is dark charcoal, its just the fabric headliner is the tan color.
  15. Thanks for your input Zippy! I knew there were three accumulator pistons, but I wasn't really sure which you were reffering to in your Zippy kit part list post.
  16. So I should also look for a metal foward accumulator piston?
  17. Glad I'm not the only one. LOL
  18. I've been putting parts together for a "Zippy" type shift kit. All Zippy's part numbers. Should I go with a metal pinned accumulator or the metal pinless accumulator? Also should I go with the same for both the 1-2 and the 3-4 or one of each?
  19. Jeez maybe Im dating myself but I remeber watching the first test flight of the shuttle on TV. Well actually it was a glide. They piggy backed on a 747 then broke free for the test flight. Guess that was '78 or '79 can't remember. I also remember watching Neil Armstrong take "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Dad was working for NASA as a contractor at the time. One of my earliest memories. Dad sitting me infront of the TV to watch history.
  20. Manual controls, No XM, No Onstar, leather heated. The previous owner added Sirrius which I love.
  21. I did something just about as bad. Just a bit of damage on the passenger side. Bent inward and upward slightly. The estimate was just about $1500 . Good thing I had full coverage, only cost me $500. The other car I backed into was a Mercedez Benz S320. Bent his bumper facia and busted his grill. Good thing he didn't hit my ball hitch, would have most likely busted his radiator. I still think the guy saw me and ran into me on purpose, 'cos I was just getting ready to shift to drive from reverse. I may have even been shifting. Happened in a private parking lot, but the po-po still came and filled out the report.
  22. Thats pretty good. The best price I've found on stock size was $151. $177 for 22" 305/40's. Thats at www.edgeracing.com
  23. Can't make it. Currently in Guam. Last time I was there was back in '05. Have fun!
