  1. I was out at the Track this Past Thursday. It seemed to be a Ford Lighting night. Looks like they will be coming out for the Drag Racing. The More Trucks that enter the Gas Vs Gas Drags the More money will be Paid out.

There will be 3 Classes for Gas Trucks,

    Sportsmen E/T

Super Gas 7.60 Index ( need 8 Trucks to open class ) or run the E/T Class

    Super Street

Hope to see you out there

    What is Super Gas 7.60

Can you explain the different classes? Is it just an elimanation? Looks like fun

  2. Hello,

I searched aroung and could not find any information on Magnacharger belt slippage. All posts were related to pro charger.

    Here is what I notice.

I pin my truck from a stop. Before every shift at high rpm's, the lights dim (easily noticed at night)

. I assume I am experiencing belt slippage.

    I have pinned the crank

I am running the stock 3.3 pulley with plans for a 3.00 to go on next week or so.

when I ordered the pullery from magnacharger the guy also sold me the 'upgraded tensioner'.

With the upgraded tensioner and new 160am alternator and stock 3.3 pully, I had minor belt sqeak at idle and the light dimming issue.

Purchased a belt 1 size smaller. It is a goodyear gatorback with the funny groove pattern.

No more sqeak at idle, Belt is extremely tight which I figured would be fine once I put the 3.00pulley on it. Lights still dim at peak rpm's when hammering on it.

Truck has 100,000 miles on it.

do the crank pulley grooves wear with time and allow slippage with applications such as this?

    Anyone else experiece this?

I will try installing the stock magnacharger pulley, but I doubt that will help, it seems to have less tension than the new one.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Jay

You should be fine with a 3.0 pulley. I have a 2.7 on mine. Is the "upgraded" tensioner the HD tensioner? I also use a gatorback belt, some people don't like them but I havn't had any problems with them. What is the part # on your belt?

  3. Did you take your SS?

No. I wish I did at least to mess around out on the runway but i dont think it would have done as well as the jeep. When my wife filled out the entry form I told her too put her car because there were already 2 SSS's invited and thought we would have a better chance to get invited. Maybe next year.

They didn't really ask any questions at the gate. Anyone that wanted to spectate could have just rolled up and watched....

  4. Holly crap!! 11.9!! Those jeeps are way quicker then the 300 srt8's. You guys must be extremely happy with that new blower. Who took first and what did they run?

She took first in the 1/4 mile and first in the braking event. Julien's truck could be way faster but he didn't have it running right. He was having some tuning issues and was just taking it easy. I am pretty sure everyone ran 13's and up.

My wife didn't score well on the road course and has no experience racing on a track but she had a blast. Everyone loved it when she mowed over the cones in the braking event. We were free to drive around and do whatever we wanted between events, it was awesome to be able to drive like that and not be looking over your shoulder for the cops. Just totally free.

  5. The throwdown was yesterday. We took my wifes SRT8 Jeep and she got 2nd place. She won the 1/4 mile and the braking event.

I met a couple guys from pt.net at the event, Julien (Spoolin) and Lee (slowxcab) The burnout halfway through the video was Lee and I didnt film the run on the slalom where Julien almost ran over the camera man, sorry i missed it. It was a good day. Here are some pics and the youtube link.

  6. now that you have tried out all forums of forced induction what one do you like the best and why ?

I like all of them. The roots blower is great on the street and fun as hell. The centrifical is badass and just keeps pulling and making more power at higher rpms and high speeds where the maggie runs out of breath. Turbos sound badass and power is endless put to get a good kit put together seems like a PITA.

I love boost however you can get it there. I want to get a F1 procharger next year sometime and give that 408 some real boost, this maggie is way too small for my motor.

Its just never enough. F1 should do the trick
