  1. Rey- Thanks for the info. Is this something that will hurt the motor or does it just make the kit produce less power?

Art- What kit is that, the intercooler looks like the one from the link rob posted. Is that from KB racing?

Can someone give me a ballpark dollar amount. Thanks for all the help guys

  2. IMHO, you already know what a positive displacement supercharger feels like, A TVS2300 would feel the same and should give you the power you need to run the times you want. Before jumping ship to a front mount, or centrifugal supercharger, wait until your wifes vortech is installed. Then see how you like the power delivery. You know now how a turbo feels like so keep that in mind. Get a feel for all three then make you decision. Until then it will just be a popularity contest and we already know who wins that. At the end of the day its your truck.

As far as the KB kit or the low end Trick kits, I would not consider a turbo kit that does not provide equal backpressure to both bank. I know they are inexpensive kits and they work, but the work load on one bank compared to other is insane. A proper kit is like the one Spooling has, but that was not cheap.

Thanks for the reply Rey. I really want a turbo and for now I am just trying to learn more about it. What kit does spoolin have? How much was his kit. I am really not understanding the equal backpressure part in your post. When i do this i dont want it to be half ass. Thanks again.

  3. Right now I am running a 408 with a maggie only making 5 lbs of boost with a 2.7 pulley. I want some more boost and to run 11s with no nitrous.

This is not something that is gonna happen real soon since we just bought a new vortech for the wifes ride, but after riding in chases truck i got the bug bad. I really want a front mount turbo but dont know shit about what other supporting mods i will need or an idea what kind of turbo. What kind of price range for a custom turbo setup would be fair? I could sell the maggie for $2000 that would recoup some cost.

Then there is the vortech t-trim which would get me where I want to be at and already got pricing on it but I cant get over how badass those turbos sound.

Any help and input on turbos like what brand, size, twins vs. single and how much it should cost approx. for entire setup and supporting mods.

    Thanks guys.

  4. That would be awesome with the window switch. So the truck would run crappy untill I shoot the nos?

Not crappy just a bit slower because timing will be pulled. It wouldn't hurt the truck any

  5. Good point, i didnt think about that, but doesnt zex have a wot kit that eleminates alot of those issues? as far as the strip i just assumed he was wanting some fun on the street!

ya I have a window switch so you just stomp on it and the nitrous comes on at whatever rpm you set it at.

Don't get me wrong it works and its fun but IMO its a headache and I dont have HP tuners to switch my tune back and forth. Driving around with a nitrous tune with no nitrous sucks. :pepsicheer:

  6. If I could go back I would not do the nitrous. My wife and I have it on both rides and its a PITA.

For my truck the nitrous got me into the 11s which was my goal but it ends being such a headache. Watching the bottle pressure, the bottle heater draining your battery in line at the track, inconsistent times, using 100 octane, flashing the PCM to change your tune everytime you want to use the nitrous unless driving around with less timing doesnt bother you and like Mr. P. said you cats will be toasted.I could go on and on.

Just save for a blower you will be so much more happy with it

We just ordered a vortech blower for our SRT8 jeep and the nitrous kit is going in the trash. lol

  7. I know there are alot of people who are friends with Chris and have had great experiences and say he does great work blah blah blah.

Put yourself in chases shoes. He got shit service, no work done, no money returned, broken parts and IMO he waited too long to post about this.

There is no way those scratches happened in shipping, I could see the cluster getting busted but its still not ok.

I think you handled this well chase, much better than i would have. I definetly won't be shipping anything to this guy and this is something that needed to be posted so other members know what they are getting into.

  8. i have the one i sent it to chris with but he receive it , when he sent it out he said he didnt have a tracking number and siad they filed a claim , i guess i have more time to wait for my shit :banghead:

if he sent it and it wasn't insured you should get $100 for you lost parts. That sucks chase, good luck

  9. I called vortech on friday and the tech line closes at noon on friday so i was too late. I am trying to see what parts would be needed to make this work on the jeep or if it can be done at all. Sucks the vortech for the jeep mounts on the other side. Hopefully they have some good news for me tomorrow.

What did he do with the injectors?
