Zippy, What are your thoughts on NGK-BR6EF? That's what Wheatley recommended for my setup. Description of my setup in my sig. I was going to use TR6's but Wheatley said that the BR6EF's would be a better option for me. You didn't mention them so I am a little concerned now.

Sweet dude. We should keep in touch and learn from each other. I live in Minnesota so maybe we can meet this summer like in brainerd international speedway for Wednesday night open track night. Duluth has a fun two day event where they drag on the street

My birthday is next week so I am deciding to treat myself to some tuning software lol I have grew up around cars and motorsports all my life and have always been interested in performance tuning. I know enough to get me in trouble right now but am a fast learner and am looking forward to learning more about it. I want it mainly so I can have my tuner email me tunes I would like to do it as a hobby and tune friends and familys cars and trucks... Super excited I bought this book to read and hope to be doing alot of research and annoying all of you here about it by not using the search button LOL . http://www.amazon.com/Engine-Management-Advanced-Greg-Banish/dp/1932494421

I love plasti-dip!! I plast-dip everything; my car, my truck, my motorcycle, my snowmobile, my cat and dog..... LOL -
I was browsing tonight looking for a new sled and stumbled on this and to be honest I am very excited about it. A little bit about me.. I have been a long time yamaha loyalist not just because my daddy and friends said its the best but because I have never had any mahor problems with them from bikes to snowmobiles. I have worked as a motorsports mechanic for a few years for my fathers motorsports business and have seen them all. I chose yamaha for their reliability and performance but chasis and suspension have been lacking in the last few years. There are alot of fast sleds out there and there will always be something faster. Recently I have been on the edge about the new 4 stroke Arctic cat sno pro and snocross models but didn't want to have to buy all new gear plus the engines are not as reliable and underpowered a little in my opinion except if you add the turbo but added weight and the 50hp increase well idk. sounds likes FORDS solution to a slow motor (Cough, Cough, Lightning, Cough). But now I have found the perfect sled with the best of both worlds.. Anyway now to the point of this topic lol. Yamacat, otherwise known as the Yamaha 2014 SR Viper. A Yamaha Genesis 4stroke 1049cc in a SRV chassis nearly identical to Arctic Cats ProCross. Also, Arctic Cat’s FasTrack Slide-Action suspension is used, called the Dual Shock SR 129 in the Yamaha. Aparently this is a new deal that Yamaha and Arctic Cat made. Yamaha will let Arctic Cat use their 4stroke Genesis motor, in return Arctic Cat will let Yamaha use their chassis and suspension and build Yamaha's SR Viper in their Theif River Falls, MN plant. To me it is two great companies combining there best designs to make one of the best 4 stroke sleds if not the best on the market. I know some die hard loyalist to arctic cat and yamaha will bicker back and forth and be very upset but common sense and the bare truth is it will be a great sled regardless of whomevers opinions including my own LOL. If you don't believe me check it out. on the link or go to yamaha-motors yourself. http://www.arcticinsider.com/Article/Arctic-Cat-Yamaha-Speculation--Reading-Between-the-Lines http://www.srviper.com/

Made my night yo.. LMAO

Pinned. I am excited about this feature. I have yet to meet a fellow SSS owner since I moved back from NC to Minnesota. This should make it easier to contact nearby members and get meets planned.
-
Doesnt look that bad. Not saying I would ever, ever, ever do that to my SSS. The lift is a bit high but it would probably go threw alot of stuff...

I have always used Mobile 1 but was I have a buddy that can get me Amsoil real cheap. I was thinking the amsoil dominator racing oil. What is everyone running for there oil weight in there modified supercharged and camed applications. I only run my truck in the summer so temps from 50 lowest in the spring to 90 in the summer and I always let my truck warm up for a bit before driving it.

What's going on another iss down in Cali
2003_SuperSport replied to rocksss's topic in Off-Topic/General
Wait, did you hear that? My truck just gained another prestige point as it becomes more valuable for still being on the road. BTW that really sucks for whoever it is and for it to be a ISS that is painful to see as there even fewer of them. -
I will have one but gotta wait till spring when I pull her out of storage and put my BSER roll pan on. Around late April and early May is when the snow is gone and the salt washes off the road.
-
As bad as these roads get up here in northern MN. I am glad we have a chance for alot of snow for skiing and snowmobiling. These last two years have been bad though. Anyways your roads are non concerning compared to ours LOL. Thats why my SSS is garage kept and stored in the winters. It seems to get this bad every week up here then we get a freak heat wave like 30' to melt the snow then it drops again to below 0. Like this morning it was -26 below and -40 to -50 windchill.... Winters don't know how to make up there mind up here LOL
-
I would never sell my truck but If someone pulled up and offered a straight trade it may be hard to refuse lol..

If the chat was up and running id ask someone there. BTW I was wondering if a LS7/LS3 GM 12605109 Gold 90mm Throttle body would work on my 2003 SSS with an x-link. its the 2009.5 and up one. The reason i want to know is because it is half as much as the older ls2 model 12570790. And out of curiosity whats the main difference and will it matter performance wise which one I use. My mods are in my Sig. I understand that we have a stock 3 bolt pattern TB but I do plan on buying a 90mm J-tube or modifying my current one to accept 90mm using a j-bolt and jbweld. Great DIY how to on PT.net for converting stock 78mm mp112 j-tubes to 90mm. here is the link I found the 90mm TB on. http://www.ebay.com/...34477c3&vxp=mtr And if it does work does anyone have an x-link i could buy?

Nice I would buy if I knew they fit AWD.

Drove in the rain, now truck is mis-firing
2003_SuperSport replied to matt 2k12's topic in General SS
I had a similar problem with my 2001 RCS 8.1L. I went through a deep puddle fast enough to soak my CAI filter. My truck had similar symptoms as yours. I was barely able to get her home and imediatly started checking things. I took the CAI off and let it dry and checked all my coils and wires. I cleaned and dried my MAF, replaced wires, and made sure all my coils were tight. Put dry CAI back on and started her up and to no avail it still acted up.. I was so pissed. So I took a leap of faith and replaced the MAF even though it looked good and lucky me it started right up and problem fixed. The MAF when warm shorted when the cold water was sucked up through the CAI and sprayed over the MAF screen. -

Injector wiring? Help!
2003_SuperSport replied to ryanneugebauer95's topic in Engine Tech And Modification
FYI, You should of saved yourself the hassle and bought some quick connectors that went from multech-ll to ev1. here's a link where I got mine from they are plug and play. These are the multech-ll to ev6 http://www.racetroni...=IA-M2U&eq=&Tp= pigtails are cheaper but I prefer the easier route for an extra buck lol -
Hey guys I just wanted to get your opinions on this monitoring system by EDGE that I found. It supposed to be a plug in OBDII monitoring system that reads boost, IAT, Air Fuel, etc.... up to 8 things at once, very similar to the aeroforce but all color and customizable and touch screen.... Anyone out there have this yet or if not why. pros and cons. thanks here is a web link http://www.edgeprodu...abled Vehicles)#

I have an offer that seems to good to be true or so I think for a Yamaha 2001 R1 Champions Edition Sportbike It is 1 of only 1000 ever made world wide from my understanding for only $3000. It has 16k for miles and is in great looking shape as far as the pictures show me... The only problem is that he said it leaks gas a little when it is sitting and he thinks it is a needle and seat in the carb. The good thing is my family is in the mechanic business so if this is the case it won't be a problem to fix. Is this a good deal or not just want peoples opinion since you guys are kinda of a second family to me and my SSS and i know you guys would give me a good answer... My background with riding is I have 15 years of riding experience. i own a 2011 Yamaha Stryker now but I have not owned a rocket for 7 years and it was an R6 so I have kinda lost the knowledge in that class of bikes... All in all I just want your guys opinion if I should jump on it or not. Thanks a bunch
