  1. Good point... I guess you really can't say that anymore huh... I still would like it touched up a little. Maybe a 100 hp chrome dipstick after all LOL and some shiny muffler bearings not to mention two new ferndoctors.
  2. I plan on it one day in the near future, but I just dumped a few pennies on my cam and head job. I just ordered a cowl hood but I'd like Lorreta (my truck) to look as good under the hood as she does outside and a supercharger would be perfect just not right away.
  3. Check this sight out http://www.carcraft.com/eventcoverage/ccrp...dule/index.html This site says. If you like over 4,000 cars and trucks and girls wearing bikini's and short shorts then Car Crafts is the place to be. also over 100 prizes and trophies are given away plus a chance to put our cars in their magazine. This is a previous year website-http://www.carcraft.com/eventcoverage/summer_nationals_auto_show_stpaul/index.html
  4. I am now a correctional officer here in minnesota so maybe a Military/Public Services. We can meet people with similar experiences and help others with any questions relating to Military, Police, Fire, EMT, etc....
  5. I am about three hours north of the twin cities but maybe we could think about all meeting in St. Paul for the Car Craft Nationals and have a cool spot picked out for our SSS to hang out and possibly camp.
  6. I was wondering if there is an engine dress up kit for our trucks... If not what should I get besides braided hoses and oil caps. I know a chrome dip stick gives you like... 100hp's ....... I was also wondering where I might find battery covers with ss logos. Anything will help... Thanks
  7. Just wanted to update this and am wondering if there is any other ss trucks or any other performance trucks such as lightnings or srt-10's in northern minnesota or minnesota in general. If so I would like to get together some day as of my truck is almost done. I know here in Grand Rapids there is a small meeting of nice cars and trucks every thursday night weather permitting.
  8. I was browsing other forums and ran in to a ford lightning forum called lightningrodder.com and they had a link for Military owners and retiree's. My self being a former Sergeant in the Marine Corps. I just thought it was a good idea. Maybe the manager of this sight would consider adding this topic to the site.
  9. may she rest in peace. Remember all GM's go to heaven . You will reunite with her again one day. I don't know if you were home or not but I bet if you were you would of probably saved the denali first or died trying. I know if it was my truck I would of and need to seek depression therapy. I may live in Minnesota but if there is anything I could do tell me.
  10. Oh my mistake, I knew that, but you still see my point right? take the 5.4 and strip the supercharger I bet it runs about the same as a std. silverado. Fords take on appealing customers now days is what they do with most their hot cars and trucks, that is putting on a supercharger. A supercharger is what you call faKe HP's. It is not the engine that produces the HP's but rather the charger forcing the air and compression in to the engine like stuffing 10 pounds of crap in a 2 pound bag. Don't get me wrong HP is Hp and I still plan on forced induction after my rebuild. I miss the good ole big block days, raw, unfiltered, gas guxzzling, horse power. ford, dodge, chevy, no matter.
  11. At least whoever was running the show was not a hater and just respected people with nice rides... I still do not see anything special about the lightning its a 5.3L std.f-150 supercharged not that big of deal. They are not even that comfortable or different besides a shiny italic lightning badge. I will admit they are quick but so would be a 5.3L std. cab short box silverado with a supercharger. Not trying to start anything just don't see the big hype over them.
  12. Can't wait to here your times hope you get closer to 10's with all the engine upgrades . good luck god speed
  13. You better hurry because once a democrat hits office all assault weapons will probably be banned. I have this m4 and an SKS and soon a MP5 before election. I love guns as much as I love my truck well.... maybe not my truck.
  14. Here it is fear and hide cause she knows how and can shoot. I found these pics in my photo album and I thought I share them with you.
  15. Welcome and soon you will be addicted to this site as I did just to here news and things people have done to their trucks as well as a little gossip.
  16. I run with Kumho ecstas. They have a real nice tread design and great traction way better than the stock eagles. I found mine on special at tirerack.com about a year back for $108.00 a piece normally around $150
  17. Now lets put those numbers in perspective. How many do you supose are lost since 03' due to crash, fire, flood or just used and driven to death with over 120,000 miles on them. ummmm my guess is over 2,000 and just a handful of trucks left under 60,000 miles kinda makes you
  18. I sent my PCM to Wheatley on Friday and is suppose to be to him UPS by Wednesday. How long does it take for him to program it and ship it back once he recieves it. thanks
  19. It will be running by next weekend. No real hurry still waiting for Wheatley to recieve and program my PCM. I sent it Fri.
  20. Here are pics of the heads milled and port polishing begun. and the pic before I started. enjoy
  21. I should of probably read the topic but I got caught up on your build through the pages and it reminds me of what I have been doing with my truck for the last two months.. I too have similar mods being installed except the turbo you are adding... I was just curious on what times you will get naturally aspirated.... sorry for the confusion
  22. My PCM is on its way to Wheatley and I just got my valve springs.. The new beehive springs I got are way stiffer than the loose faggy stock ones.. Them valves will seat and pop nice now. Not driving my truck for two months is giving me deep depression . I am glad it is almost done. I enjoyed driving it when it was almost stock, now I think I wont stop driving it when its done... Its so hard seeing others drive their toys while I am stuck driving my daily driver a 92' delta 88 rust bucket.
  23. Are you going to run a turbo or natural aspirated.
  24. Nice runs seems like some of the other cars had an earlier jump. but you still overtook them. I can't wait till you are the first one on this site to break 10's... on a cool day higher altitude and no truck problems maybe... congrats
  25. Ok so far we are looking at intital fire up late next week. I contacted Wheatley for a custom tune and I will send the PCM out tommarrow morning... With the heads milled we have taken out about 4cc's each chamber... We also reseated the valves so they seat and seal like suction cups lol... so when she comes alive she snap and pop . With the compression I have it will run on pump gas but work the best with racing fuel. I'm very excited.. It has been in the garage since early May and we have been doing a lot of research on this engine and its limits. I will have the camera ready for start up. I am trying to make this truck sick.. We are trying things that not many people do to this engine so hold tight and D-Day is almost here. I am shooting for 1/8th mile or (stop light to stop light) times but not to concerned with 1/4 mile or highway runs. Some more updates on mods we also have a shift kit and some stronger tranny parts As far as the pics on the polishing of the exhaust and intake ports I will see what I can do. I live about 35 miles from where my truck is and my father is almost down with them and it might be put together before I can get to them. One more mod I ordered is a cowl hood that will complete the new engine build to make it look as mean as it will sound... Thanks for looking and please any questions just ask.
