  1. I need an idea of what my truck would look like with a 2/4 drop and my current wheels all gloss black and then another with them all dark grey. I'm definitely starting the drop soon, but I need a visual before I commit to powdercoating my wheels. I've included a couple pics in case one or the other is too hard to work with and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  2. Welcome from the 925 (originally from the 510). You definitely made a great choice of vehicle. You're gonna love that SS, just be prepared for it to take a lot of your money because once you start modding, it seems to never stop. Congrats.
  3. No, they tuck pretty nicely. My DUB wheels were right in line with the fender which is why I got rid of them.
  4. Thanks man. They are a +30 offset. Thanks bro. What parts achieve that and how's the ride quality?
  5. I just got done cleaning the truck and I've added some pics of the new wheels on the truck. I've been speaking with NORCALSS and I'm going to lower the truck first before any powdercoating of the wheels. I think I'll just wait to powdercoat them when I need to replace the tires. I am going to go with Belltech 2 inch lowering spindles up front and lowering leaf springs in the rear with the Belltech performance drop shocks all around. I can't wait to get started. What do ya'll think of the new look?
  6. Thank you for the info and the compliment on the wheels. I just got back from the rim shop and they gave me back my Kumho 305/40/22 tires so my truck doesn't look as awkward anymore. I'm going to throw some tire shine on and clean up the wheels a bit and I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. Looks like I may be going with the belltech setup since it's a little cheaper anyway.
  7. So, I've got my new wheels and tires now. I took a pretty big loss on the DUB wheels, but I was just tired of them and I've been itching to lower the truck which the DUB wheels offset prevented me from doing. I may post pics of them on the truck, but they look really awkward right now without the truck being lowered. I'm used to the black on black look and not really into chrome, so I've decided to get the face of the wheel powdercoated gloss black and leave the lip chrome. I went with 265/35/22 tires to insure clearance, but now I need to hurry up with the lowering. I have included a pic of the wheel I went with. I found Belltech lowering spindles for $242 and McGaughys lowering spindles for $280. From experience, which spindle is better to go with? I haven't quite decided what to go with in the rear, either a flip kit or just the hangers and shackles I already have installed. Let me know what you guys think.
  8. Oh man thanks, I really appreciate that. Your truck looks very nice also. How much would you charge for all of it shipped to the 94513 zip code?
  9. Like the title says, my coworker is looking for a PS2. Anybody got one? Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I went to the rim shop last night to look at each wheel in person and the one on the left is gorgeous. The one on the right is a very nice wheel too, but the way the spokes curve on the other wheel gives it more character and that is why I am going to go with those. I may have lucked out because our ex-roomate works at a dealership and said her boss wants me to go in and show him the rim because he can get them at cost. The shop quoted me the wheels, tires and install for $1300 and I am supposed to sell my DUBs for $800 which would mean I'd only have to come up with $500. Hopefully this guy can get me the wheels for $800 or less and I'll basically be able to get new wheels for nothing. I'll post pics when they are installed and then I'll have to decide whether I want to get them powdercoated or not. Thanks again guys.
  11. When I replaced mine with LED bulbs, I was able to use some pliers to turn the bulbs out and back in. Try that.
  12. The guy who wants to buy my wheels is serious about purchasing them so I have narrowed my wheel choices down to two that I can afford. Let me know what you guys think. What I mean by I may need help is if I could borrow some stock wheels from somebody here in the Bay Area so that I can get either of these wheels powdercoated gloss black and drive to deliver my wheels to the buyer. If I don't borrow wheels, I'll have to have two at a time powdercoated with the truck on jack stands. Please let me know if anybody can do this for me. I'm not a big fan of chrome which is why I want to powdercoat the wheels, but I also was thinking about having them machined to a more dull finish. Does anybody know how I could go about doing that? Can a machine shop do it and what do they do exactly?
  13. So, I'm ready for a change in wheel so that I can lower the truck and I may have a buyer for my DUB wheels. I can get some pretty good prices on Velocity wheels, but I was wondering if anybody had any opinions good or bad. I don't want to go from DUB to a sub par company and have problems with the wheels. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. V-leds has great products. I have their white LED bulbs in my DRLs as well as every other bulb and have had no problems at all. They also don't cost that much. Check them out.
  15. I can't wait to see what you produce. I had the same hood on my '05 and had the same reaction when I pulled that stupid plastic insert out of the box. I couldn't believe they would make such a badass hood and then go cheap on the mesh grille. I honestly thought they should have just left that section smooth with no mesh rather than what they went with. What I did with mine was cut out the word CHEVY, installed some plexiglass sanded to a haze behind the word and a white neon shining through that was wired to my HID headlights. It came out pretty nice, but I ended up trading my truck for the '06 SS and selling the hood. I wish they would make that style hood for the '06, but for now I'm looking to convert my front end to the '03-'05 style so that I can possibly buy the hood again. What are they going for nowadays? I believe I paid $460 for mine back in '06.
  16. Very nice. Where did you purchase the LED lights from and how many did you use? Thanks.
  17. That sounds pretty killer. I'm sure you could just buy one of those red LED strips and find an inconspicuous mounting location and have it shining downward. If it isn't enough light you may need to mount another one shining upward. Just wire them to the battery through a switch on the dash so you can turn them on/off manually. I'm not sure of the laws out there in NC, but here in California you'd definitely get a ticket for having red lights on the front of your vehicle as those are designated for emergency vehicles. Of course, people still do it out here and hope that they can turn them off every time they see a cop. If you decide to do it, good luck and post pics when it's done.
  18. My driver's side HID turned on the other morning and since I was pulled up to my garage door I noticed it was not as white as the passenger's side. By the end of the day it would only come on for around 10 seconds and then shut off. I switched the bulb to the passenger's side and verified it still cut off proving the bulb was bad. I ordered two replacement bulbs from the Ebay seller payless2010 for $15 and free shipping. I'll let you know of the quality of the bulbs when I receive them. As WICKEDOWESIX said, most of the HID bulb sellers have the same connections on their bulbs so you can virtually get them from anywhere.
  19. I recently called Keith out a force fed performance to find out pricing on a re-tune after long tube headers, shift kit and aftermarket trans cooler and he told me he had a supercharged SS in the shop to put on the dyno. I asked him if it was a SilveradoSS.com forum member and he said he believed so. Was it anybody here? If so, what mods to you have and what kind of numbers did the SS put down?
  20. I am interested also if I could pick up a set of LTs just the headers. Are their headers coated at all?
  21. I actually only used two resistors when I swapped all my bulbs front and rear and everything works perfect. I only mounted the resistors in the wiring behind the tails. Is the wiring really separate?
  22. Yes. I used one 3 ohm resistor for the left turn signal and one for the right turn signal. You just splice one end of the resistor into the ground wire on the turn signal wiring and the other into the blinker wire of the wiring. I also had to splice a 6 ohm resistor into each brake light bulb to solve the problem I told you about earlier.
  23. Welcome to the site. I live in Brentwood, but commute to San Jose for work. I drive the SS on Thursdays and Fridays so maybe I'll see you smashin' on 880 one of these days. What kind of supercharger you got?
