  1. Welcome to the site man. I'm out in Brentwood, CA. As soon as I can sell my rims and get some with an offset that will allow for a 2/4 drop, I'll be contacting you. I already have shackles installed and plan on doing the spindles myself, but will need someone to do the hangers for me. Take care and again, welcome.
  2. Did you remember to get load resistors? When you swap the blinker bulbs with LEDs, they will blink rapidly as if a bulb is out unless you install load resistors in line. I also had to put load resistors on the brake light LED bulbs because for some reason with the headlights off, when I would turn one of the blinkers on, every bulb in the rear would flash. V-leds.com has the info on how much resistance you'll need. I would recommend buying the resistors from other sources as they will be cheaper than V-leds. Hope you already knew all this, but if not, hope it helps. By the way, you'll love the look of LEDs over regular filaments.
  3. Thanks bro. This is the one I need right? SKU WA104 Vehicle Side Fitment 6X5.5 AND 6X135 Wheel Side Fitment 6X5.5 Hub Bore 87.1MM Outer Diameter 176MM Thickness 1.25" It says it's 6x5.5 to 6x5.
  4. Do you have any information on where to purchase this adapter? I'm seriously thinking about getting some competition grey tbss 22's and then doing some grey racing stripes on the hood.
  5. I'm trying to sell my DUB wheels and I was thinking of getting some 22 inch tbss replicas for the truck. I found some gloss black ones and some chrome ones, but if anyone is already rollin' on some and could show me some pics I'd appreciate it. If not, just let me know if you think it would look pretty good.
  6. Thanks guys for all the responses. After a few days passing I'm very much calmed down now. I agree that I should not have chased the guy. Originally I just followed him so my wife could put his license plate number in her phone but it took a while because the guy was driving like a complete maniac. If I ever see this guy again and I have a chance to speak my mind I at least want to let him know to never cut me off again because my family rides with me. I'm sure he's a young punk who's mad he has to drive an inferior truck, but he needs to know I'm not worried about him and his TuRD. As for the damage to my bumper, one of my good friends who has paint experience is going to come out to my daughters birthday party and see what needs to be done. A few weekends from now we'll get down to business and fix her back up. Well thanks for listening guys and helping me see this prick isn't worth my time or endangering the family and the SS.
  7. So last night, my wife, our one year old daughter and I took the truck out to get a movie and some food after I changed the rear differential fluid. We start out by doing figure eights to coat the gears and then we shoot over to pick up a redbox movie. After picking up some McDonalds, I pull up to a light to make a u-turn and head back home. The light turns green and I have to make a three point turn since there was some construction going on at that intersection. Before I could complete the u-turn, I noticed that the light for the traffic coming straight turned green. I threw the truck in drive and punched it to get out of their way. Once I reached the speed limit I began to coast and then I noticed a Toyota Tacoma on my ass to the point where I could only see half of his headlights as the other half disappeared behind my tailgate. This pissed me off, but I didn't want to race since the baby was in the truck. As we approached a portion of the road where the right lane must turn right and only one lane goes straight, the a-hole tries to go around me and I just continue to go the speed limit. I'm going about 40 mph and there isn't much road to pass so I figure the guy will see that and back off. Of course not; instead he whips his truck only a few inches in front of my front bumper cutting me off bad. This pissed us off, so I honked and high beamed him. The next light was our turn and I would have left it at that, but he chose to brake check the hell out of me and cause me to almost lose control since it had rained earlier. He tried to take off by making a quick right turn but his inferior V6 allowed me to stay on his ass and have my wife take down his license plate. This whole time he's flipping me off and brake checking me and I'm just hoping he pulls over and wants to throw down. As we go down a completely unlit road, I decide that I should just quit and go home because he's too much of a wuss to stop and let me speak my peace. I begin to make a u-turn to go back home and all I can see is what my HIDs is illuminating. The road was pretty narrow so as I completed the turn I went a little off road and thought a felt a little jolt. Sure enough I get home and there is a quarter sized chip in the paint on my front bumper. There isn't much of a dent so I must not have hit something very rigid, but I'm still pissed. I'm sorry for the ranting and raving, but I just needed to vent. I was wondering if anyone could help me with repairing this chip. Can I just sand the area down and attempt to blend in some paint? I just want it to look decent as I want to get a full paint job in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm growing tired of these punks thinking that just because I am in an SS I think I'm a badass and I want to race them all. I love my truck and I mod it because it is a hobby for me, not to show off. I'm sure you all experience this same thing constantly and are tired of the hating.
  8. I've just been itching to do an inexpensive mod since money is tight lately. I was just wondering if anyone ever installed hood vents on an OEM hood. I was thinking I could find some inexpensive hood vents, paint them and cut a couple holes in strategic locations of the hood and install them from the underside. If anybody has done something like this or knows where to get the hood vents, please let me know. Thanks guys.
  9. Do you have any pics of the alteeza lights installed or some pics from the side of the housings? I am very interested. Thanks.
  10. Are you willing to sell the high beam HIDs separately? I've already got HID lows so that's the only reason I'm wondering. Thanks.
  11. So after some troubleshooting, I found that the traces on the boards inside the LED third brake light were shorted. I cut both boards just before the two LEDs that were illuminating so now instead of two rows of 5 LEDs, it is two rows of 3 LEDs. Light still looks good and functions normally. I know that is pretty ghetto, but I wasn't able to access the traces since they were deep inside the boards. I'm just glad that headache is gone.
  12. The bulbs I purchased were for V-leds.com and they seem to be pretty good quality. The weird thing is that everything functions as it should such as the LEDs light up as running lights and get brighter for brake lights. The third brake light is a smoked lens LED version I purchased a while back. I will bring my multimeter home from work tomorrow and try and trace where the voltage is coming from that is illuminating those four LEDs. It's confusing since they all light up when the brakes are pressed, but only four are faintly lit up when I let off the brake. I'm pretty sure something is shorted on the boards inside the third brake light now that I inspected all of the wiring to my tail lights today and found no obvious shorts. For all I know, it's been like that for a while and I just noticed it after installing the LEDs in my tail lights. I plan on contacting v-leds to see if they have ever heard of this problem. I'll let ya'll know what I find out. Thanks.
  13. As far as I know, it just started doing it after I installed the LEDs in my tail light housings. My third brake light is blacked out so you can only tell the LEDs are illuminated if looking at the truck from dead center of the rear end. I need to heat shrink all my connectors this weekend anyway so hopefully I'll find the short then. Thanks for the help.
  14. Does anyone know how the third brake light is connected to the tail light wiring? The issue I'm having is with my LED third brake light. Only when the truck is on, the two left side LEDs on the top and bottom pc boards are faintly lit like running lights. Everything still functions correctly when the brakes are pressed. I'm pretty sure I have a short somewhere, but I don't understand how some of the LEDs could be lit when both boards in the third brake light are powered by the same metal strip and should all have power at the same time. Since I recently installed LEDs in my tail lights with load resistors I'm assuming I have a short in one of those wires and I'm wondering if anyone knows which one ties into the wiring for the third brake light before I start troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. So I've finally found some time to post the pics. I also replaced the map lights and dome lights with white LEDs. I love the new look, I just hope these bulbs are quality and last a long time. They do seem to be made very well. Hope ya'll like.
  16. Congrats man. What is your MOS? I did my Biomedical Engineering school at Sheppard. You'll love it. It's really relaxed over there. It seems more like a college than a military school. I wonder if Grahams is still the place to club? Be prepared...... there's a ton of good lookin' Air Force girls there. I'm sure you'll have a blast. Have fun and stay outta trouble .
  17. Ok so everything is finally done. I managed to figure out all the issues and now every single exterior bulb is L.E.D. The thing I get most noticed for is the hyper white look of the L.E.D drl's. With all the people that have asked me about them, I've probably hooked v-leds.com up with a lot of business. To get everything to work correctly, I had to install a 3 ohm resistor in the turn signal wiring on each side and a 6 ohm resistor across the running light wire and ground of the brake lights on each side. The reason I had to install the 6 ohm resistor in the brake wiring was because with the headlights off and one of the turn signals on, the license plate lights and the opposite tail light housing's running lights would faintly blink also. Honestly, I believe if one of the bulbs is converted to L.E.D, all of them should be. It just adds a newer look to the truck. I'll try and snap a few more pics in the next few days.
  18. Welcome to the site man . I stay in Brentwood, but work in San Jose. Maybe I'll see ya on the highway sometime. Must feel real good to already have a modded truck. Did the sales guy tell you who tuned it?
  19. Well you were right. I installed the LED turn signal bulbs and at first I tested them by turning the hazards on and they blinked at normal pace, but when I turn each individual blinker on they blink rapidly. I do see a few resistors on the bulbs, but I guess I need more resistance. Do you happen to know the amount of resistance I should use? I sent an email to the company and I plan on bringing home a bunch of resistors from work this weekend and trying them one by one if you don't know exactly what resistance I need. Thanks for the info.
  20. Here is the comparison of the LED license plate bulb and the stock bulb. I can't wait for the second bulb to come because I think it looks a lot better. I've included a pic of the brake light and a pic where I caught the blinker. The pics don't do the bulbs justice, but I love the way LEDs instantly turn on and off.
  21. Thanks! They are the 24 LED White back up LED 3157 bulbs, but they fit in the DRLs also.
  22. These bulbs come with load resistors built in. They blink right along with all the other turn signals. They seem to be a very good quality product, but I guess I'll find out over time. I hope they don't burn out quick since they are made specifically for vehicle application.
  23. Here a few pics of the white LEDs installed as DRLs. I will post pics tonight of the red LEDs as brake lights and turn signals. I installed the one white LED license plate light that I received and I'll take a pic showing the difference between the stock lamp and the LED. I have to wait for the company to send the send one I ordered. I think I am going to order to more white LEDs to put as reverse lights. I really like the look of LED DRLs and I'm sure I'll keep them on now instead of turning them off every time I drive the truck in daylight like I used to. Let me know what you think. Thanks for lookin'.
  24. That's crazy. I was just about to respond to you that I will have pics when the bulbs arrive, but before I did that I decided to track them. The status said delivered and there they were in my mailbox. I will have pics after I install them tonight. I only see on license plate bulb so I'll have to call the company and find out what is up with that.
  25. Did you check out the website? Do the LEDs seem cheap? I'll definitely let ya'll know if I have problems with these burning out.
