  1. I appreciate all the input. I completely agree that the side exit tip looks lost and that is why I was thinking of powder coating it black. I guess the only way I would do it is if I could notch out the cladding. I'm feeling the turndowns for now so I'll keep it that way. Thanks for the compliments on the truck.
  2. I may have a mild form of OCD because I cannot find an exhaust tip placement I like for more than a few months. Right now I'm back to hidden turn downs, but I played around with these ideas today. With the side exit stock SS tip, I was thinking of getting it powder coated black for a more subtle look. I was also wondering if anybody has ever cut a notch out of the cladding to run side exit exhaust like on the lightnings or Saleen F150s. I was thinking it may look cleaner. For the dual tips on the back I would most likely do the same to the driver's side. Let me know what you think would look best. I value your opinion. Thanks.
  3. Hey bro. I think I may have seen you on 880 this morning. Were you heading North by the San Jose airport and around 6:55am. If so I was heading South to work in my black SS. Lately I have been seeing a ton of SSs, but I don't think any of them are on this site. I live out in Brentwood and I have seen 5 different SSs, so I'll let you know if I get in contact with them and they want to meet up.
  4. BUMP... is the price too high or just no interest?
  5. I almost went to a tuner in Newark, CA that was only charging $300 for a tune, but after speaking with a few past customers that felt they got ripped off and that shop didn't know what they were doing, I decided to spend the extra $200 for someone that really knew what they were doing. I'll have to call Keith and see why he charges so much for a retune. When I finally do some engine mods and supercharge the truck I may opt for a mail order tune if its cheaper. My warranty is still good so I'm holding off.
  6. what should a retune cost? I haven't done the major mods to warrant a retune so I hadn't even thought about a price.
  7. I have decided that I like the look of no exhaust tips on my truck so I am selling the exhaust tips I had exiting in front of the rear passenger side tire. The tips were originally 30 inches long and they are 3.5 inches in diameter. The outside tip has been cut down to 24 inches and the inside tips has been cut down to 20 inches. They are welded together on the underside so that the joint cannot be seen when installed. They are welded to 3.5 inch reducers that reduce to 2.5 inch piping for direct welding to your stock pipes. The inside tip still has the remains of a hanger that was welded to it, but it will not be seen when these are installed. Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm asking $50 since everything is all welded up and ready to go. Here are some pictures.
  8. He charges $500 for the initial tune and then any retune thereafter is $300. I'm not sure of the software he is using, but you could call him at 916.331.1611.
  9. that is easily the baddest colorado i've ever seen. Great work. A little of topic, but how is that truck on gas mileage? I would much rather commute in something like that other than the PT cruiser I commute in now.
  10. If you're near Sacramento or more specifically Roseville, go to Force Fed Performance and see Keith. He got me 40hp with his tune.
  11. I am very interested in the black billet grille. Who is the manufacturer? Is it bolt over or cut out style? And does it include the bumper pieces too? Please let me know as I can paypal you the money right away. Thanks.
  12. The only place I have experience with is in Roseville, but well worth the drive. The shop is called Force Fed Performance and the owner is Keith. Let me know if you need the number.
  13. Manny is too quick to throw a lazy left handed jab without your right hand protecting your face. Ricky looked scared and like he was just waiting to be hit. I thought it would have lasted longer than that.
  14. This is definitely the muffler to go with. I have not installed LTs or high flow cats yet, but I'm loving the sound of this muffler anyway. The sound at WOT is killer and the flowmaster I had before this muffler sounded horrible compared to it. Very good price too. Someone should snatch this up. Good luck with the sale
  15. I have a friend who I told about your intake for sale. Would you possibly sell it for 130? Let me know, thanks.
  16. Do you still have this for sale? If so, how will this help my truck. Thanks.
  17. Where are you located? I have a friend that is in the market for an SS. Also, are you willing to sell the rotors and wheels separately?
  18. Do you still have the BBK headers? If so, what part number are they and how much? Thanks.
  19. Hey man. Welcome to the site. My name is Steve and I stay in Brentwood just a little south of you. Like it was said before, get your truck tuned and stay away from the Superchips programmer. I'm telling you from experience as I had an 05 silverado with a 4.8 and I was so disappointed with spending 400 plus dollars on a superchips programmer that I sold it for half price and slapped on a procharger P1sc with a custom tune. The truck really woke up then. With my new SS I went over to Force Fed Performance in Roseville and got a custom tune by Keith. He was able to get 40 extra horsepower for me and I only have a cai, magnaflow exhaust and MSD wires. If you have the money to get the supercharger, headers and throttle body now, I would go ahead and do that first because he charges $500 for the initial tune and $300 for any retunes thereafter. I can give you his info if you want. Just let me know.
  20. do you still have one left? If so, is it an aftermarket cd or genuine GM service manual. Also, my truck didn't come with an owners manual when I bought it used, will these eliminate my need for one? Thanks. Hope to hear from you soon.
  21. Nice find. At the end, it says to do this every 150k miles. How often are you guys doing it? I'm only at 54k miles right now, but when I bought the truck used there seems to be some algae in my resevoir and I was thinking about doing this now. What do you think? I also wasn't supplied with an owners manual when I got the truck so could someone let me know the capacity of a 2006 ss? Thanks.
  22. Here's a few of my first truck and of the SS. I went away from the blacked out tail lights because I got pulled over way too many times here in the Bay Area.
  23. Are these still for sale? If so, I have a coworker who damaged his drivers side duct and is willing to buy both if he needs to. Let me know. Thanks!
