  1. Is there an update on this yet? I think I have the same problem. I had a friend check the code and it said it was an evap problem. I checked the gas cap and it had a split o-ring. I put a new cap on and the CEL hasn't gone away yet(4 dys). Is there a way to test the vent relay or cannister so I'm not just throwing parts at it?

  2. They aren't really made to blow you away. There made more for sound quality. You'll notice they stop increasing in volume after about 3/4 of the knob. The head unit isn't that great either. I replaced mine and it made a big diff. I just got some new JL speakers in the mail yesterday and hope to have them in over the weekend.

  3. I'd like to know if anything else needs to be purchased to make this work besides a possible TB or adapter. Do you need new fuel rails or have to modify anything? At least it sounds like you don't have to modify the accessory brackets. The price sounds high, but if it is a true "bolt on" without the extra expenses and time modding half the motor, it might be worth it.

Even then I'd have to see some dyno #'s before I spend that much on one upgrade.I'm looking to spend that much on headers and efans which will probably be worth more power then that intake.

  4. For those that like to run at the track or are concerned about mileage, here's a little info. I was looking at the Centerline wheels for our trucks on their web site. I noticed that with every jump in size (16-18, 18-20) ther was a 2-3 pound jump in weight. Until you get to the jump from 20"-22". It then jumps 9-10 ponds per wheel. I would assume this goes for other brands as well, but it's something to think about before deciding on new rims. 10 pounds may not seem like alot, but if you consider that's 40 pounds toal for all four. I don't know the math to figure out the "rolling mass", but i'm sure that's gonna kill mileage as well as track times.

  5. I'm getting totoally off topic here, but I was looking at that centerline website. I looked at a bunch of different styles and noticed there is only a 2-3 pound difference in each size step of wheel (16 to 18, 18 to 20) until you get to the 20" to 22" step it jumps 9-10 pounds per wheel. There's a little lesson for those "Rollin' 22's" at the track.

  6. Of course we all shop there. It's the only place I could find curb feelers and dingle berries for my SSS.

The first time I looked at this, I didn't realize there was more than one per page. Make sure you page down on each page to see all of them. A couple of these actually had me in tears from laughing. Especially the the lady dressed as the mascot (see thru yellow dress with smiley face undies). :rollin:

  7. Rich(SSPOSSE) is in Des Moine,IA. I don't know how far you are from there. You might try PM'ing himto find out who else is in that area. There are a few of us near the WIS/ILL border. I doubt there will be any otherGTG's this year, but keep checking under "Gatherings". You'll start to see stuff popping up in early spring. You can look at my profile under the friends section to see the guys I know in the area. Fast4 popper is in the process of moving out east.

  8. Hit alittle snag at delivery time. The car we're buying is a demo driven by the owner of the dealership. I actually bought it sight unnseen because his wife had it the day I was at the dealership. They said it was perfect condition and would be detailed before they brought it to me. It showed up Sat. morning with at least a half dozen rock chips and noone had detailed it, just washed it. There was coffe spilled down the side of the console and other dirt throughout. I told them I didn't want it. They called the mananger and they are going to have all the chips airbrushed(they tried to give me touch up paint, yeah right), get it professionally detailed, and give me an extended warranty since the car has 5k on it. They will call me when it's done and I'll drive out to approve it. If I don't approve we'll have them get us a different one and have a sunroof installed(only reason we chose this one is it was the only one around that was red w/sunroof).
