  1. Rich(SSPOSSE) is in Des Moine,IA. I don't know how far you are from there. You might try PM'ing himto find out who else is in that area. There are a few of us near the WIS/ILL border. I doubt there will be any otherGTG's this year, but keep checking under "Gatherings". You'll start to see stuff popping up in early spring. You can look at my profile under the friends section to see the guys I know in the area. Fast4 popper is in the process of moving out east.
  2. Hit alittle snag at delivery time. The car we're buying is a demo driven by the owner of the dealership. I actually bought it sight unnseen because his wife had it the day I was at the dealership. They said it was perfect condition and would be detailed before they brought it to me. It showed up Sat. morning with at least a half dozen rock chips and noone had detailed it, just washed it. There was coffe spilled down the side of the console and other dirt throughout. I told them I didn't want it. They called the mananger and they are going to have all the chips airbrushed(they tried to give me touch up paint, yeah right), get it professionally detailed, and give me an extended warranty since the car has 5k on it. They will call me when it's done and I'll drive out to approve it. If I don't approve we'll have them get us a different one and have a sunroof installed(only reason we chose this one is it was the only one around that was red w/sunroof).
  3. No holes in the front of the bumper. The holes are underneath where noone can see them if you decide to remove it.
  4. I think it's a nice deal considering it's not cheap plastic and costs about the same as a factory mount and it's hideable.
  5. You might try using an easy out to get the dipstick out. Clear the silicone out of the hole find the right size easy out to fit inside the tube and hopefully it will twist out. While cleaning the silicone out, you might want to keep a vacuum hose at the point so any debris wiil get sucked up instead of going into the oil pan.
  6. I just got done buying my wife a Liquid Red Pontiac G8 GT to go along with my Arrival Blue SSS. Now all I need is a White Camaro SS and it will be a Patriotic all LS household. The dealer is cleaning it up and will deliver to my house tonght. Anyone have this car that can give me any info? Any issues, cheapest mods, is it the same mods as the SSS?
  7. I would just look into a cheapo that has the # of RCA's you need. Try onlinecarstereo.com Ijust got some speakers from there for a great price. Crutchfield wanted $100 more for them.
  8. Iknew the dyna's have actual cats in the ystem. The OBX is just a bulge to look like a cat. I just didn't want to put $1400 into headers.
  9. Mine will be here on Tuesday. I'll update after install. Speaking of install, I'm assuming the whole panel comes off to install these. Anyone remember where all the hidden screws and connectors are? Once the screws are off does the panel just slide up, or did they use "X-mas tree's" to hold the panel on?
  10. You need to go to your speakers and reconnect the bose wiring harness. The RCA's you have go to the amp. The amp has speaker wires going to each speaker that were installed with the amp. Hopefully the installer just left the factory wires dangling and didn't cut them off. Why did you have to remove the aftermarket unit? IT might be easier to go to the pawn shop and find a cheap HU to get you by temporarily.
  11. Nice! Taht's actually pretty impressive for 22's.
  12. Thanx. How do you know all this being from WY? Is it published somewhere, or are you in the field?
  13. This is great topic. For those that have the super close pix, could you take a wider angle shot so we can get a better idea of how they look on the truck? I'm looking for new rims for next spring and can't decide what style to go with. I don't want to put the exact rims on as someone else, but they may be close in style. Also, if anyone happened to weigh their combo that would be a nice addition for those of us concerned with weight.
  14. I was looking at OBX, but was worried about emissions. I think here in IL we just do the OBDII check, can't remember for sure. I just looked under the truck. I was thinking it had a Y-pipe because my Corsa cat back is 2into1. Do the OBX pipes have one bolt up flange and one slip fit? My set up is unique. I have the 2 pipes going into a small x pipe. One end goes to the muffler and one to an electric cut out.
  15. I've been reading old topics for an hour now. Can anyone tell me if there is a LT header out there that bolts right in. I don't want to spend 1300 on dyna's (complete set up)and from what I can tell the pacesetters need to have new y-pipe/cats fabbed up. Is it just the shorty's that bolt in? I don't want shorty's. I haven't examined my stock exhaust yet. Is it possible to cut down the stock y-pipe and just add a flange to bolt up the LT's?
  16. Came across this while looking for a removable license plate holder. There is also an electric one available for $150. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E4E0ZW/ref=as...mp;linkCode=asn
  17. I just ordered the JL's for now. I'll wait to see how it sounds before doing the rear doors.
  18. Put enough power under the hood to spin all four.

As far as the SSS issue, I like it the way it is on the tailgate. SS SILVERADO
  20. I found these JL's and Infinity's at onlinecarstereo.com. I'm not usually a JL fan(bad experience with some subs a long time ago), but all the reviews seemed promising and it's a great price. Is anyone running either of these speakers? http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=19663 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=11418

I'd take one or two. I like the emblem on the chest and just a big SS Silverado on the back. I know embroidery gets pricey when you go big, but I'd even be up for screenprinting so prices don't get too wild.
  22. I used small screws with nyloc nuts to make sure I never lost one.
  23. That's different. What did the back seats come out of? Post more pics as you get further along.
  24. They run Nitro Meth motors. Same as you would see in top fuel. 45 mins to rebuild between rounds just like the cars.
  25. Go with the supercharger. It will give you joy 100% of the time versus the ring which will only provide joy 10% of the time.(I'm going on 11 years) Do yourself a favor. Save the money to do the engine stuff all at once. Do the headers, cam, lifters, and while you have it torn down that far, have the heads ported and possible intake. That way you're only tearing it down once. STAY SAFE OVER THERE!!!!
