  1. TSP has always been good to me. They completely jacked up my cam specs on the last cam I ordered and I had the right one two days later. I just recently ordered a bunch of parts including another custom grind cam for the Camaro
  2. *sigh*.....another thread of someone throwing random parts at their truck and expecting magical times
  3. its cheap looking and its lazy plain and simple
  4. I like how they are off road use only but still have cruise control buttons on the steering wheel
  5. Art does Ivan still have his SSS??
  6. this is why I hate diagnosing problems over the internet. 9.5 times out of 10 you never get the full story good luck w/ your issue
  7. I think you are going heavy out of the gate if you really plan to run squeeze. But thats your choice. I would start small and work on it from there. As far as where your methanal is located, it would be hard to run a nozzle setup in that spot in my opinion. Cant really run a 90 degree fittings like on your methanol gig. Typically when guys plumb nozzle setups into intake tubes they run them in either side or right under the tube. More times than not under the tube because its more of a "stealth" look to it sometimes if you do it right. When running a wet style kit it doesnt really matter the setup in my opinion with MAF or SD. Some more experienced nitrous guys might disagree with that maybe. But if you run a nozzle setup its going to be before the TB. If you run a plate its obviously going to be behind the TB. Again, some say the nitrous hit from a plate is harder than a nozzle. But like I said those are the guys that are using nitrous for their main power adder. As far as running methanol and nitrous together, I dont have much exeperience with that. This would be a question for Mike but I would agree with Sinr with running methanol to help keep IAT's down while driving it screwing around.
  8. yeah, I read all that after I posted and thought the same thing lol Guess you dont realize how much was done until you list it all out like that
  9. Thanks. The only things I polished were the a/c dryer & lines, driveshaft, nitrous lines, oil catch can, and rear brake calipers. The front cover, water pump, alternator/power steering bracket, bolts, valve covers, fan shroud, nitrous tanks, stand alone fuel tank, blower piping, coolant tank cover, brake fluid cover, fuse box cover, battery cover, and throttle body I had a friend do it as he does polishing as a side job. The only things I had chromed were the baskets on the alternator, coil brackets, and coil bolts.
  10. Nope hand made from measurements to fit the factory GM diesel battery tray Here is the battery tray that goes on the passenger side corner by the a/c dryer Here it is installed in the truck
  11. I texted the guy that works on his toys for him yesterday seeing whats up and he said ol boy is on vacation or something. Should know something soon
  12. I guess I dont understand how you came to this conclusion? Nitrous Outlet is by far the leader on the street market for sure. Plate vs Nozzle comparison......a lot say the nitrous hits harder with a plate system rather than nozzle. Actually most say its night and day difference. But they are using nitrous for their main power adder unlike you. If you want to spend the money for a plate you def wont hurt anything but a nozzle would be ok for what you are wanting to do. Wet vs Dry......dry you are spraying before the MAF and using the MAF to make fuel adjustments rather than wet you are spraying nitrous after the MAF and also spraying fuel as well. Im not a fan of letting the MAF make fuel adjustments to compensate for the cooler air charge. If the MAF fails for any reason pop goes the weasel. Wet you will be using the truck fuel system to barrow fuel to use with spraying nitrous. This can be ok if you have the fuel system to support it and you arent pilled to the hill while using a blower such as in your case. Remember the more fuel you barrow the more of a drop in PSI. Also on a wet you will use a fuel pressure safety switch. If the switch sees a voltage drop from a desired fuel pressure drop it will ground the system and kill it before something goes wrong. This in my opinion is the way to go. Going back to the fuel system subject, if you really want to get into it you can put together a stand alone fuel system. This means the nitrous system will have its own fuel system to provide rather than taking fuel from the truck side. This is usually the way to go if you either dont have the fuel system on the truck side to support your nitrous hit. You will have a main tank, intank fuel pump, regulator, ect. See picture below for the tank I had in my SSS And the intank pump, simple Walbro On the subject of timing, rule of thumb is to pull timing when using nitrous. Off the top of my head I dont remember how much per pill but if you run good fuel you probably wont have to pull any timing. If you run 110 or even a mix of 110/91 or 93 you might be able to get away with not having to pull timing. If you are running a stand alone system, run 110/93 in the main truck tank and 110 in the stand alone tank. Im def not a tuner but I bet you could get away without pulling timing at all if you did that. As far as my purge, that was all hand made with the parts below but was tough to do. http://s3.photobucket.com/user/2bfast/media/MOV03118.mp4.html
  13. If its a SD tune it would make sense as there isnt a MAF to compsenate for ambiant air temp, and outside climate changes day to day.
  14. Nitrous is a great mod if you understand its properties and how it works. It gets such a bad rep from slap dicks that have no idea how to use it and when to use it. It would be a great mod to reduce IAT's specially in a Radix situation where you dont have the ability to run a charge air cooler. Setup a simple plate system and start your jets small, take some timing in the tune, and see what it does. On the subject on nitrous, it would be wise to setup a stand alone fuel system strictly for the nitrous system that way you arent robbing the truck system of fuel pressure. Check out my build thread for pics of the stand alone system on my SSS I had. It turned out so awesome. As complex as I had it setup I wished I would of took all the nitrous stuff off and kept it because the wingcheese that bought it from me didnt want anything to do with it. Then the guy that bought it from him doesnt want anything to do with it either from what I hear. On the other hand, there are some things you have to account for when running nitrous. Main thing is a fuel pressure cutoff switch. If the switch sees the fuel pump in the stand alone tank lose fuel pressure it will cut off a breaker and kill the system and stop spraying nitrous. Rule #1 - Nitrous + Low Fuel = melted pistons. No bueno. If you want to get interested in this or might have the itch to do something like this on your truck let me know. Ill contact the ol boy with my truck and ill see if he will sell the stand alone tank, plate, lines, solenoids, ect. I bought the tanks back and I plan to do something in the ol ladies Camaro with those but I bet I could work something out with him on all that.
  15. Yeah it was fun, and it wasnt ragged out. It had some cosmetic issues before you had it but you addressed most of those from what I remember
  16. I dont understand how someone can get so worked up over the Chevy vs Ford debate. If you have THAT much hate for a product you have issues. If you dont like the looks or features of one brand its a little overboard to have a hatred for it. Rather, I dont care for their styling so I wont purshase their brand. As with me, I dont like Fords styling on the F150 and I like the Silverado better which is why I bought a new Silverado. Doesnt mean I HATE the F150 and have to call them junk. The ol lady is a Chevrolet person too, but she bought a brand new Ford this year simply because she didnt like GM's styling on SUVs. Do I look at her and say what a junk vehicle it says Ford. No its actually a nice vehicle. Styling and looks aside, a car is a car and a truck is a truck. They are both gonna break, and they are both gonna have their own issues. Also both more than the other. GM's service department is just as busy as Fords. As far as my line of work, I a service manager for Freightliner. I laugh when drivers come off the road saying Freightliner is junk. Ok, so why is your Peterbilt in my shop? Or, look at my big exhaust stacks and chrome everything. Hate to break it to you, but your truck doesnt make any more money than the jalopy in the next bay. Even though I work at our Freightliner side of our company our roots are Ford and always will be. Do I get butthurt over it? No. Do I make a heated debate over it? No Get over it
  17. outstanding job Doug whats next? lol
  18. Man you have some high hopes for that heavy thing and not wanting to spend money and drive like stock. For what you want to do 1.9 maybe 1.8 will be your best max. Bet on it
  19. "shaun you picked up some road tar on your rocker panels" "no brian, that would be rubber"
