  1. Interested..................
  2. What tools did you use to do that??? I have polished my calipers and tonaue struts, but did those by hand with sand paper. Dremel maybe?? I was just going to have it chromed because I am chroming my coil brackets anyway.
  3. Im going to bring this thread back from the dead. I am also contimplating on doing a cam swap. My only mod is GMPP intake, but I will figure long tubes in the equation before anything is done. Basically what I am wanting to run is different cam, stock heads, intake, long tubes, and tune. What is everyones suggestion on what I should run, cam, rockers, springs, retainer, pushrods, ect. Do our heads flow pretty good stock?? I am not wanting to get to radical with this hence I didnt include heads in the equation. Help me out fellas!!
  4. Is it possible to take the "baskets" off the alternator and have them chromed??? Has anyone seen this??
  5. I am also brainstorming of a drop kit. I dont want to get to radical with the drop, but cut down on the fender well to tire space. 2/3 inch would probably be good for me??? How much is the kit, spindels and shackles?? With that 3/4 drop, how is your ride?? I am sure a section or two will have to be cut from the bump stops on all for corners....

6 Liter badges off a GTO, on boths sides of the hood and right rear tailgate Custom Engine Plaque Polished both rear calipers and painted the brackets black, the fronts are cast and they would rust so i painted them silver. I am still working on polishing the fuse box cover and battery cover, they still have some hazing in them. I have the patterns cut out for all the fill caps for the fluids, but still need to bend and weld together. I would like to take the coil brackets and have them chromed, along with the alternator. Has anyone takin apart an alternator?? Will the aluminum parts come off so they can be chromed?? I have never done this, but would like too!! I will take more (better) pictures tommarow, along with the truck.

Whats up everyone. Posting to show my progress on my 05 Sss. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, Ill take better ones tommarow. The lighting in my garage isnt the best for picture taking! Here is what I have for tonight...... Plain as can be from the factory With alittle BLING! The underhood "mirrors", GMPP Intake, Polished stainless coolant, brake reseviors, fuse cover, and battery cover Continued.........
  9. Rocker Covers.....are they direct bolt on with the factory coils and coil brackets?? How about the PCV???
  10. Headers or Manifolds? I see Manifolds......
  11. That code sounds like an EVAP leak code. Which is most likely gas cap loose. But cleaning the MAF never hurts none the less!!
  12. Are the fuel rails on our trucks aluminum?? Cause I was wanting to polish mine, but dont want to down the truck.
  13. Hey guys, I am wanting to clean up my engine bay from the cluster'd look from the factory. I have custom battery, fuse box, coolant overflow covers pending, so that should clean things up quite a bit. But mostly I am wanting to clean up the look of the motor. I.E valve covers, painted coils, red Taylor wires, fuel rail covers, ect. I saw the valve covers from ABEAR Motorsports, but I dont see myself spending $800+ on valve covers, they are sweet yes but not $800 sweet. Who else makes custom or aftermarket polished or chrome valve covers for the 6.0's??? Or should I just have the stockers chromed?? I know LS1's have many options partaking in this process. Also I am looking at a CAI. I like the look of the GMPP intake system, but I have never been sold on oiled filters. Can you convert the oiled filter to a paper in the GMPP box?? What dry filter systems are out there that arent "ricey" looking. Thats the reason I like the GMPP system, it looks like it could come on the truck from the factory. Some tips, info, and suggestions would be greatly appriciated! Thanks guys. Oh and pictures are good too!
  14. Where would I find my build number of all the SS Silvys built in 2005?? As in #345 of 1243 SS's built in 2005??
  15. I am looking to start cleaning up my engine bay and was gonna start with the coils. I have seen a lot of F-Body owners relocate their coils on their LS1's, but was wondering if anyone has done this with the Silvy SS LQ9's??? My plan was to relocate the coils and find some brushed or polished valve covers, or clean up mine if possible. Next battery box, PCM, coolant overflow polished covers, GMPP intake assembly. Basically so its not so cluttered up with wires and loom, lookin clean......... ..........and I just read the rules about this section right after I posted.....relocate topic if possible to correct section. Thank you
  16. Whats up fellas, have a couple questions..... First, has anyone seen these Mobile 1 emblems iv seen that a lot of F-Body'ers have in their engine bays?? They usually apply them to the shock towers. Also, where can I get some small 6.0 emblems for the side of the raised part of the hood for each side??. Whats a good place to find custom emblems for speciality vehicles??? Second....im lookin to tear into my exhaust. Basically everything will be stock except for the muffler and the duals coming out of the rear with Ractive oval stainless tips. My question is, im wanting to get an electric cut-out installed and installing it between the cat/02 sensor and muffler is the place to install it so I dont trip an engine code correct??? Is that pipe 2 1/4 or 2 1/2?? Im also still trying to figure out what kind of muffler I want to run.....I dont want anything loud because thats what the cut out is going to be for, but I want something that has a really good sound at idle and WOT without it being annoying and raspy....more or less a "tuned" sound.....please inform me with suggestions and information....thanks!!
