  1. Check the fuel pressure, may have a pump and/or regulator bleeding off the pressure while sitting.
  2. Sounds like you may have a front hub starting to go bad, the abs sensor is built into the hub assy., I would check the front hub first.
  3. EZ Down $69 Dee Zee $49 These are the only two companies I have found, may be others out there.
  4. I agree, also dont ditch the red top, put it on a charger, low setting, and leave it for a day or two, usually they will come back to life.
  5. I was in Home Depot the other day, all the spray paint is behind a locked cage, can only be openend by a employee, good luck finding someone to help!
  6. I have 37k on my Goodyear's, overall they have been a good tire at a decent price. I keep them rotated and balanced at least every other oil change. I am looking at the new P275/55R20 Michelin LTXMS2 ($225 ea) they are nearly twice the price of the Eagles, but if they last twice as long? I need a all season tire here in Colorado.
  7. Guy's, I have been all over the internet looking for some take-off 20" Tahoe LTZ chrome wheels, I found a shop on the internet that sells them with center caps for $600 + shipping, this is about half price of what there getting on e-bay, only problem is they have none in stock and dont know when they will get in more. Does anyone have the G.M. part number for the wheels and caps? Meanwhile I'll keep checking with the local tire shops. Thanks in advance for the help.
  8. They have rear axle bearings, usually you will get a loud howling noise when the are bad or going bad, noise will change while driving, lightly swerve left to right and see if the noise changes tone, or jack up the rear and see if there is any movement at the top or bottom of the wheel. Hope it's not a bearing or even a damaged axle.
  9. Great lookin Avalanche, they look sooo much better without the cladding!
  10. I bought my "Gorilla" locking lugs from Discount tire, and love them. You might check tirerack.com also.
  11. There customer service is terrible. I should have/could have used the $$$ for MODs instead.
  12. Anybody buy a extended waranty from Signet Corp? Back in '05 when I bought my SSS from the local Chevy dealer they offered me a extended warranty, I bought it for "just in case" it was $1500, they stated if the warranty ran the length of the contract, and there was no warranty claims the entire $1500 would be refunded. Well, after filling out a extensive 5 page refund form and sending it in, I havent heard a word from them no call, e-mail, or check. I have called them several times, but have been put on hold everytime, I usually hang-up after 15-20 minutes. Just wanted to see if anyone has delt with them and how long it took to get payment. I would not recommend this company for a extended warranty!
  13. I had to buy the adapters, seven pin to flat four, and also have a seven pin to round five adapter, you can get the adapters at wal mart or any local parts store.
  14. I put a factory GM class 3 hitch on my '03, very easy install, all the frame mounting holes were there from the factory, no drilling needed, the wiring for the trailer plug was already wired in as well, it was taped to the rear wiring harness.
  15. Sorry to hear about you're loss. Losing a pet is tough, especially after 12 years, bet you and you're wife have some great memories, getting a "replacement" will never fill the void, but sometimes will help. "Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are".
  16. If I remember, all they wanted was a h/s diploma and $$$, back then AAI was $10k for the 18 month Associates, I'm sure it's much more now. Good luck on you're journey and never stop learning.
  17. 175!!! Holy Cow!!! What's the fastest you gone in the SS?
  18. Diesel mechanics generally make more $$$ than the custom/racing industry, custom work would be a blast, from what I hear UTI has great body shop and racing classes. If you get a chance you should take a tour of the school, would give you a better idea what they have to offer.
  19. After graduating high school back in the late 80's (yea i'm old), I set out to be a auto tech, after looking at several schools around the country, I ended going to Arizona Automotive Institute (AAI) back then UTI was there biggest competor for tech schools, The reason I went to AAI over UTI, was because UTI was not a recognize/accredited college, when I graduated I got a real Associates Degree (Auto/diesel technology) which actually is just a piece of paper, but it helped me land a great Job at the Colorado Springs Police Dept as a fleet tech, been there 16 years now. I guess it's like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it. I will say one thing, being a mechanic as a hobby is much different and more fun than doing it for a living.
