  1. Are they special to TOG? They should be the same as those posted.
  2. Bump Nobody thinking of converting intake manifolds?
  3. Yeah, sure did <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is it the same one you are selling?
  4. Something I have always done out of habit. Less strain on your electrical system when starting.
  5. I just have to chuckle when someone from NJ says something like, ".....the hottest day of the year...", lol.
  6. I guess we see it differently. To me, the "true" SS is what was produced. Production usually always differs from concept. The concept was...just that...concept, not the "true" SS.
  7. Copper collector gaskets are the only way to go. Especially for blown applications. I blew out the ones my ASMs came with in about 200 miles. One race to 125 on the freeway was all it took. Stock manifold gaskets do work well. If you're unsure if they are sealing right, maybe buy a new set. They are $13 and some change a piece. One of the links above is for SCE copper collector gaskets. SCE also makes race header gaskets. They run about $50 a set. I have a set here I haven't tried out yet. Plan to put them in with my new Breslin header bolts - another good thing to get and change while you're in there. Speaking of Breslins (locking bolts), I would get on their website and see if they make a collector bolt. It doesn't seem to matter what you did, those damn things just keep coming loose. Grade 8 makes some if Breslin doesn't.

    EFI Live guys

Strange how tilting of the head is something a dog does also. Only when they hear funny sounds though - for you it's colors

  10. Any info you needed you could get here. You could even send logs to people on here for them to read and help diagnose if anything is going wrong - just don't leave your tuner out of that picture. Sending those same logs to him will help him to determine what to adjust. Unless of course, you plan to go to full tune and log route. Each of the main softwares out there have excellent forums that people can help you learn. EFILive will sell you just the logging part that can be upgrade later to tune capability. Not sure if HPT offers that.
  11. Getting ready to do that myself. My last 2 pieces arrive tomorrow. Hope to get it knocked out soon after. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keep us posted how it goes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure will. If it is nice outside Sunday I may go ahead and convert the wp. After that no fabbing stuff is needed. It's just pull and replace - for the most part.
  12. I looked at the dyno results in the Magna site and the vehicle tested that got so much hp was at 10.8:1CR. It was a LS2.

your saying yours only last 3k miles or you just change them for the hell of it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do them about 5-10K,...every other oil change. I like to look at them and make sure there isn't any unseen issues. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do it for the same reason. Lately it has just coincided with significant tuning changes. I only have 7k miles on this motor.
  14. Same thing they told beserker. If you don't beat on it everyday...who knows? I would guess your MPG is going to be about 11. Mine is around 12 with moderate driving habits.
  15. Adam, Sounds like a nice setup. Who will be doing the tuning, or will you be taking the plunge to do yourself? If you don't, at least order some good logging software to keep up with everything going on with it. Screw the scan gauge, you'll need to look at everything at once. Now for the hard question.......When is your 80E going in? Before or after the 60 granades? I need somebody to make that one setup work without going to 2WD before mine goes on me.
  16. With that kind of hp goals there are two things you can count on - it will take a lot to get you there, ie the level of modification, and two, it will take quite a few dollars. I would plan on a stroker build to some cubic number of 408 or higher. I would wait and see how the new Magna MP122 turns out and see if it were compatible to put some good boost numbers for the larger motor. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't, but the data is not available yet, and strap that thing on. Of course it would need high flowing heads, big cam, serious exhaust work, etc, etc. Figure out everything to get the 4L80E in your truck. Nothing else will last very long. Neither will the stock motor on high hp numbers like you're planning even if it could get you there.
  17. The handhelds all run about $350, give or take a few. A PCMforless tune cost $250. Hmmmm......which one to get I agree, they are better than nothing.
  18. Get louder exhaust so you can't hear it. Uhhh....live with it or remove it. Does it really bother you that much?

FYI, the ix plugs are iridium. Go for like $5 a piece. I wouldn't get them unless your tune is completely dialed in. FWIW, my tune is a work in progress and still more work coming. NGK plugs don't last very long, non-iridium, but I change them about every 3k miles. So them being cheap is a plus. Plugs can tell you much about how your truck is running. Iridium plugs will last much longer.
  20. Now you know that that is usually an afterthought
  21. How's that? Head change will not net very much CR change.
