  1. Are you bleeding the pump after install? And are you sure your hydro boost pump is connected correct?
  2. He is a part of the reason why I haven't been to this site for months. His bandwagon is the infamous V2. He doesn't run the cam, never installed one and checked PTV clearance on a LQ9 or measured pushrod length with it. Then gives out what is needed. Then gives a 400rpm difference in a converter stall. Over the past year he has minipulated his setup and praised his edge converter that's supposedly about done for and led a poor guy to bad advice on a converter. And his bad ass cam is so bad ass he chooses a shelf cam to sell to everyone. The cam is decent for a truck. In a car its a torquer. I would pick 20 other shelf cams before that for a truck. Get a custom grind and be done. Btw Mr burns I have a unique setup and another unique setup coming up. And its speced and built by me.
  3. Zach you beat me to it. I have been trying to help revive this site for the past year, and some others have as well. Like Brian, Danny, Jake etc. Butt hurt crybabies that know jack about what they are talking about get a free pass cause they are newbies??? I am done with this site as well, and ADMIN, please pm me on how to cancel my Supporting Membership. Have a good one guys, and to those who I have made friends with and talk to off the site feel free to get ahold of me. You all have my #.
  4. Actually most of the reason people don't post on the site is because they use the search button and find most of the info they need like that. Then when they read that someone is suggesting off the wall stuff they shake their head and leave. BTW anyone been to OHIO? Weez has itz haad yo! Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  5. Doug, if he doesn't get it I will. For sure Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  6. I was waiting for you to chime in on this. You forgot to add that you did the harness and trans cross member yourself too. And that was before you got comfortable wrenching on the truck. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  7. No your not the only one. I met another SS owner locally who had the same problem as well. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  8. I think Oregon transmission or PATC sells them. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  9. Hydroboost! Give me a few months and I will tell you if the new stuff will top it. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  10. Like you know Jon! I mean not like you didn't put some nasty times down with a basically stock unit or anything. Lol. Didn't it only take you a full weekend to get the swap done? Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  11. Mine did the same thing. But when I got the truck it looked kike the previous owner had some paint work done to the pass side and whoever installed the cladding fricken pop riveted the front corner on and filled over it, and the tape on the rear wouldn't hold. I ended up riveting it on because I plan on painting it soon and will get a new cladding. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk
  12. Man Earl. If you don't pick it up let me know. I was looking at trading my CC in on a Hoe soon. It is beautiful!

  14. I would just get some 243's if you want to bump the compression up. Can be had for the same price as the mill on the heads, and have a little better flow stock. A good valve job would be better.
  15. Thanks Patrick! Yeah one thing leads to another. I just got a call from a guy that wants to buy my whole setup but I'm not sure I want to part with it yet. I will be running a mid 100 nitrous tune, and around 12# boost to start off. Going to see if the stock short block can hold it. I have some info from a person who gave me some ideas on how to get the short block to stay together. Gonna try his "tricks" and see if it does. If not then bigger and better. Talked to Jake about a 80e and he gave me some info on building a stout trans and told me to do it. He didn't try to sell me anything of his and told me what I would need. I can get the parts a little cheaper from here and there, but he will get my business because of how he treated me. Also need to get my t-case apart or get a input/output shaft to my local gear company to get them to make some adapters. I might finish up my intake this week. Just to get out of the house.
  16. Thunder Racing is no longer in business so unless someone has one in stock new or a used one would be the only way to get that one. The TSP cam is a all around tried and true package with a 3k converter, beehive springs, seals, some chromoly push rods, 8.1l marine injectors or green tops, and a tune. IMO just have a package speced for what you want. An off the shelf cam is good for what you are looking for, but for a few more dollars a speced cam for you can get you more for what you want. 17. I want to check your new ride out for sure! Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk 2
  18. I know LMC Truck has them, but they are high dollar. They are getting harder to find and the price of these parts has gone up due to it.
  19. It is a tough decision especially since you took a hit on the credit. I like what the other guys are saying. You might re-light the flame the two of you had with the cam.
  20. 2 hours @ 70mph= 140 miles $60 of fuel at $3.50 = 17.14 gal consumed 17.14 / 140= 8.16mpg. Now that is being generous. If you went 55mph for 2hrs that is 110miles $60/$3.50= 17.14 17.14/110= 5.6mpg That was stock figuring. Do the same math on the other numbers.... Something isn't right. This isn't an assumption. It is what you just told us and wanted us to explain how you are getting terrible mileage. I mean better mileage after the converter "lock up"
  21. So you were only getting roughly 8mpg stock and now your getting roughly 12mpg on the highway? That is figuring traveling 70mph and $3.50 a gal. That lock up converter is the same as the factory lock up. And it isn't a reason why you suddenly gained 4mpg. Obviously something was messed up originally. And if your still only getting MPG like that on the highway then you might want to get the tune looked at. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk 2
  22. Earl. I know how attached you are to the truck. If it were me, I would trade it for the Tahoe. It can serve double duty as a family hauler, and a rare truck (SUV) for the car shows. Then in a few years when you stumble upon the deals you tend to come by on another truck. Build that one and have fun with both. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk 2
  23. Build a 408 stroker, some valve work and slight mill to the heads, cam, springs, and a TBSS intake and 90mm throttle body. Throw a shift kit and servos in the trans and drive the hell out of it. Then the next time the wife won't notice 4k missing get a used TVS 2300 and slap it on. Build the motor for around 9.5:1 cr and be set to run boost in the future. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk 2
  24. Pro charger (D-1), meth injection, valve job (stock heads), LS9 head gaskets, ARP head bolts, springs, push rods, lifters, tbss intake, 90mm throttle body, x-link, 60# injectors, cam (custom grind), fuel pump, trans (80e with shift kit and torque converter) tru-trac rear, girdle cover, and some other odds and ends. Its a tried and true combination and in budget. Don't waste time on the L92 top end with forced induction with a Pro Charger. For the extra money its not worth it. These heads in stock form will flow with a good valve job with this set up. A good tune by a good tuner is key btw. Sent from my Motorola RAZR MAXX using Tapatalk 2
  25. Hope he doesn't drop my bottle down the chimney! I would be upset.
