Ya I think that was 907BlownSS 's truck, looks like he is selling it and that is a pretty good deal with everything that's been done to it. -
SSilverBeast Finally Waxed and Detailed

Looks great! I know what you mean about being busy sometimes it's hard to find the time to do everything you want. -
Make sure to use some adhesion promoter on the plastic so the paint will adhere otherwise it will probably chip off pretty quickly....
-
I second that probably would be easier to have it repainted/repaired, unless there's like a chunk missing lol.

For everyone hoping for new body style SS

That looks like a pretty cool truck, and I bet it would move out with the 6.2L. I like the Cheyenne name reminds me of the old 1972 Cheyenne short beds. -

If you are planning on buying the supercharger new I would skip the MP112 and go for the newer style TVS series 1900 or 2300.... Gives you more room to grow.... But either way will work just fine they each have there pros and cons (I think heat soak being one of them?). -
That's awesome! You should definitely keep your truck!
-
Looks good! Like already said by Brandon^^^ needs a bit of a drop or larger tires to fill that gap! I like the 06 front end, changes it up a bit.
-
Welcome to the site! You can add pictures to your user gallery I believe or most people use photobucket and then copy and paste the IMG link code over so we can see the pics!

That looks drop dead awesome! Makes me want some new 20" Chrome reps for next summer!

The only way I have been able to get them out easily is welding a 5/16" nut onto what is left of the bolt in the head. Since the head is aluminum and the bolt is steel the mig weld will only attach to the bolt, not the head. Sometimes it takes 3-4 times of welding a nut on and trying to remove the bolt to get it out. I've done it to probably 5 6.0L LQ9's and Lq4's that I have worked on and had success every time. Very common problem with these engines I might add as well.

If they do truly replace everything that the truck needs right now and paint it up nice I would be happy with that! I'm sure it will probably be better than when you got it like you said. It would be sad to see another SSS get totaled.
-
Sounds like you need to replace the caliper. They have seals that can go bad over time. Its somewhat rare for them to randomly fail, but anyways you just need a new caliper and maybe rotor if it's bad and a set of rear pads. Shouldn't be to hard of a job.

Nice work! Looks good to me!

Looks like officially one less arrival blue SS exists, found a 04 today at NWAP in Ak

My truck just hit 5,000 hours a while ago at around 160k. I think its higher now but I would have to check.
-
I always hate to see these threads, horrible what some people do and get away with. At least they didn't complete strip it completely like most of the ones stolen, well at least it looks like it has most of the SS parts on it still which is unusual. Hopefully you can get another one!
-
Just realized I hit 3,000 posts! Didn't even realize it until I made a post a bit ago and then happened to look back! Hard to believe I've had my truck nearly 4~5 years...
-
Does your truck still have the rear axle lift blocks, if so that will make your rear end sit much higher than his if his were removed. You can turn down the front torsion bars, or get some front drop lower control arms or drop spindles to match the rear once it is lower. Should be very straight forward with whatever route you take to lower your truck.
-
I had to replace my upper control arm bolts on my drivers side arm when I changed out the entire arm. The bolts where available at the dealership and in stock.
-
Looks way better!! So I take it you used the drop control arms in the front?
-
Very to sad to hear! Hopefully its found before it gets stripped... Good luck!

BlueAKSSS replied to bderewic's topic in Member Introductions
Welcome to the site Bryan there are always some in the for sale section on the site, just check around there for a start. Craigslist is another good bet on finding one or maybe Autotrader. Good luck in your search and keep us updated in what you find! -
