Apologies if this truck belongs to a member...
Downeast Johnny replied to someotherguy's topic in Off-Topic/General
I'm right there with you Muggs. I've always liked the 03 front clip the best. -
I was quoting an auto parts store worker who I was talking to about replacement seats. No idea as far as condition goes, but the $500.00 figure he gave was per seat. Seats get expensive pretty quick. I have been working on fixing up the drivers bottom in my 2000 Silverado daily driver. It was really trashed. Cloth cover had several holes in it and separated seams, and the foam was turning to powder. New foam was $150.00 from GM parts direct, and you can't buy the OEM cloth cover any more. Vinyl cover is $124.00, (The color will match), and leather cover is $250.00 So I will have at least $275.00 in just the seat bottom of a standard, non electric seat, and if I was wanting both front seats to match, another cover for the passenger side. Then the bottoms don't match the seat backs. More money for covers for the backs if you want them to match. You get the idea. $$$$$

I believe that the chrome wheels are neither 03 or Intimidator. Not a bad looking truck even though it doesn't know quite what it is. -
I have not shopped for seats myself, but a guy at my local parts store told me salvage yard price can be as high as $500.00, (entire seat assembly.) (That's in eastern NC.)

Thanks brother. I had just cleaned the truck. Looks like my Imgur account is working so I'll add a couple more pic's.
-
Somebody give me a shout out if you can see this pic. Thanks (Yeah, I know the lights are cloudy. I've got new ones just haven't siliconed them and installed.)
-
Thanks Alan. I'm happy with it. The body shop owner said that the AMD hood was the lowest labor hood he's ever worked on as far as out of the box fit and getting it paint ready.

It is really great, and rare, to hear about a good ending to a stolen truck nightmare. Congratulations, I know it's been 13 days of misery. I sure hope the law can put the screws to the scumbags. Consider Richards great advise. Hope you can hang onto her for another 14.

That's a step in the right direction, anyway.

I gotcha. I'm working on a Mac desktop.

Oh well; Back to the drawing board.

RATS! Looks like it didn't work. I hate photobucket.

Finally figured out how to post pics from photobucket, (Thanks Alan).

Dang! Thanks Alan. Got er figured out.

Thanks bud. I'll see if I can get it together. It used to be so simple. ">http:// ">http:// ">http://http://s228.photobucket.com/user/Jakeshuman/media/SSS/DSC06075_zpssa6nsshg.jpg.html'>

I've had the same thought about paint. I have priced a full paint job with a local shop, (They painted and installed my new AMD cowl hood, recently), but I've got some work that may call for removing the front clip, and I want to get some kind of shelter for the truck before I do the paint. What method did you use to post the camo truck pic? I've tried every way I can think of to post pics of the new hood with no luck. Photobucket sucks with their new policy. Can't really blame them for going for the bucks but they have screwed up a lot of forum post's and are holding my photos for ransom.

Welcome to the site Bill. Sounds like a nice truck you scored. Congrats.

Yup. It's one of those things you just can't Un-see. I live in a very rural area and have only seen 3 Super Sports, other than my own, in 7 or 8 years. I saw one of them Friday, dirty as any never washed work truck, with a bed full of construction trash. Almost made me cry.

I might have believed you but no way I would have been able to really picture in my mind.

FS: BB AutoCal w/ hardcase, never used!

Somebody oughta be able to use it. GLWS. -
Who's the idiot that thought that was a good idea? I hope that it's like plasti-dip and comes off easily.

I always figured those small motors had to work too hard in a truck to either perform well, or get good mileage. Could be it's just the nature of the 4.3 too. Like putting too small an outboard on a big boat.
