  1. Just went and checked mine. I got a bed rug so my measurement isn't exact, but it looks like 6' 7" to me. So just about an inch over 6.5.
  2. I waited more years than I wish I had to buy a second truck as a daily in order to keep miles off of the SSS. I tried a Toyota Corolla for a while, and it's a great 250,000 + mile beater, (Ya can't kill them), but I am a truck guy. Now I am realizing how I really have to think about driving the SSS to keep problems like you talk about with your Grandads 77 from happening. I can sympathize with you an the money you've got in the 69 versus what you could expect to get out of it. The announcers for the Barrett Jackson auctions frequently make the comment that it's common for vehicles not to bring the money that it took to build them. (Just like you can't expect to get your money out of mods at resale time. I remember one of those rounds of excitement about the CF trim. Shoulda looked for some back then I guess.
  3. I'm sure that the standard trans makes a great car even better. I always wished that they had offered the SS as a coupe. (Like the NASCAR cars )
  4. Grandpa's 77 looks great for it's age. Liking the license plate. Sorry to hear that the 69 project is stalled. It was looking good in the last pictures I saw of it. Strictly out of curiosity, What sort of money would it take to take her over? The carbon looks better every time I see it. It's got me thinking too.
  5. Good to see your still around man. That's a good looking Burb. The Carbon fiber trim is sweet. The SSS wheels would look better than whats on her. Are you thinking about other wheels? How's the C10 project coming along?
  6. That's a great looking hauler. Sounds like she did great. Especially with the mods you've got on her. How do you like your SS grocery getter?
  7. Thank's, wondered if they were OEM Chev.
  8. It's a great looking trailer. I wouldn't turn down a great deal on one either. The Envoy looks good from the rear. No frame damage, I assume?
  9. Amen. If Irma takes one more little dodge to the east my area is toast.
  10. Looks like you'll def know something about body work by the time your done. Trailer looks like good job for a diesel hauler. Even my 18 foot center console makes my SS wheeze a little.
  11. Nice looking low mileage truck. What wheels are those? Good luck with your sale.
  12. Glad to hear you dodged the bullet on the flooding. It's a mighty bad feeling watching flood waters creep up on your house and stuff.
  13. I'm with those two. Actually, I wish I had the free money and a good spot to store her for a while.
  14. Thanks for the comeback. Signed on to see what you've got coming up.
  15. Sorry for your tough luck man. Looks like it was a pretty nice truck. As rare as the body and cladding parts are getting; we are all just a fender bender away from a totaled truck.
  16. Hey Matt, What year truck did you get your lamps out of? What did the yard charge for them? Just curious about how many years they used these mirrors.
  17. Welcome to the site. Congrats on finding your truck.
  18. I got my kit from Fine Lines and am happy with the set. They had some trouble getting the right kit for my 03 AWD SS but worked at it till they got it right. If you want to check them out contact Josh Stamper on their contact page. He is the one who got me the right kit. Contact page; https://finelinescommercial.com/ContactUs
  19. Sounds like a nice low mileage truck Chubby. Good luck with your sale.
  20. My 03 has done the same thing once or twice. Just about the time that I started thinking that I had a problem, it cleared up on it's own. If I remember right that was before I got a tune from Zippy. (The tune might well have programed out a border line problem with fuel air mix) I don't remember hearing about it being a frequent problem. I also have a 2000 Silverado and it has done this several times. (There again; it sorts itself out pretty quickly.) Apples to oranges comparison, I guess, although they are both brain controlled motors.
  21. Good to hear that you and your family have dodged the bullet Richard. Sure hope the worst is over for the Houston area.
  22. That is in the range of value for the truck, but it's a tough call to make for anyone not looking the truck over. If your unsure of what your looking at, see if you can take it to a mechanic you trust and have them give it a detailed look.
  23. Glad to hear your doing OK. Sorry to hear about your Grandparents. It's hard to concieve of the number of homes destroyed around Houston. We haven't even begun to hear those numbers yet. I've been watching the news and thinking that living there has to be an absolute nightmare right now. I'm on the east coast and we get hurricanes regularly but none have been anything like Harvey.
  24. Sounds like the boss is glad to have you. Makes you feel good about going to work.
  25. Surprised you've still got her. Had any prospects?
