  1. I don't understand why people keep removing the TB to clean it, it can be cleaned without removing it from the intake manifold! :ughdance:

Sounds like you broke the locking clip, the harness should still plug right back in.

it goes in but it comes out fairly easy. i wanted to clean down in the intake runners with a rag thats why i did it. now i know not to touch it. i just didnt know if when im driving down the road the harness will come back out

  2. gasmilage.jpg

this was back in the fall with cool temps and low humidity. drove 65 the whole time on the interstate without stopping for around 2 and a half hours. i couldn't believe it. a few bolt ons and a good tune can go a long way

d**m i hate you lol jk i wish i could get that. mine is completely stock except TM removed. i go bout 75 on the interstate/ freeway

  3. Finally got back into the 13's!

It's sad, things like that make me happy, makes others mouth's drop when I tell them the average milage I get with this beast.

ive only got it to 12mpg. i need to change my habits. if you guys are getting 14+ i should be getting a lil better

  4. Congrats!!

I just about have my truck sold as well! Looking to get a Tundra and leaving it all stock.

i heard the new recall was on tundras. i guess back east people have been having there spare tires and in some cases the gas tanks fall off. i dont know if its true but thats what ive been told.

  5. DO WE NEED THE HARNESS TO INSTALL THE LIGHTS OR THEY JUST GO WITH THE STOCK PLUG?

i asked them when i went to there retail location in HB, Ca. and they said the harness was for the high/low bulbs. we dont need them. and i ordered the H10, and 9006 55w 8k color. i haven't put them on yet but if i have a prob i can just go to there location (thats 5 min from my house) and ask for the right ones. the ONE perks of living in cali. everything else sucks

  6. i had a guy that lives down the street from in a lifted 06 tundra.....GAY, but anyways he asked me if i had put a blower on my truck, i dont, only a few bolt ons but i told him it was completly stock, he said that was the rumor in the nieghborhood, so the next day i activated my onstar atleast till i can aford a good alarm, at least the onstar can track it....thought i would share that one since its kinda on the same subject

i did the same thing i heard of all the SSs stolen and theres been a few silverado VHO vMAXs stolen so i activated my onstar also just in case. you never know

  7. How often do you tow... Those mirrors are great for towing but not for around town driving. If I only towed a few times a year I would just do the towing mirror extensions that clamp on to the stock mirrors. With my GMC I tow often so it was worth the change. Like I said even with the smaller convex mirrors, visibilty is reduced from the normal mirrors.

ummmmm it depends on my funds coming in. i try to go out to glamis octillo. 2 times a month but lately since ive been laid off and have all sorts of time i usually go every other weekend. but the 6.0L kinda uses a lil gas towing a 6k pound truck behind filled with gear and bikes. ive put 15k miles on my truck in 7 months. just driving to vegas cal city, lucern, ect..... so idk

  8. I put those mirrors on my GMC with the turn signals and heated, in all honesty they crate some big blind spots and would only recomed them for towing, and if you tow often. I much prefer the regular mirros for when just driving around. the towing mirrors are great for when you have a large enclosed trailer though, then they become real useful.

yah whenever i got to glamis or octillo. i tow my buddies long travel ranger. on a 25ft flat bed with bikes quads and the ranger, and i cant see shit with my mirrors. so i was gonna upgrade but idk.

  9. here are a couple pics of my truck, 06 cc vmax 4x4

looks good i think it will look better on a lifted truck then a stock truck imo. cause the one ive seen has a 6" lift with 35s and it looks good. but idk yet i wanna make it faster first

  10. My 06 crew came from the factory with them, I love um. Gets mistaken for a diesel a lot tho,

nice do you have pics of them? ive only seen a very rare few 1500s that have them. i just like the bigger mirrors. i can see better thru them lol. but i dont know kool vue makes the 172 each. heated, power and signal

  11. I was driving my 2009 denali xl down the highway a few moths ago, my left rear tire cam flying of on the highway and barley kept control. I got it from my buddies gm dealership and apparently nobody check the tourque of the nuts, he told me a few guys got fired, i just couldent believe it.

damn that sucks at least it was the guys at the dealership. and not you but thankfully you were able to keep control.

  12. After putting up with severe brake vibration figured it was time for rotors/pads. Went to put on the EBC rotors yesterday and found what might have caused the issue. I found the rotor retaining screw missing on the driver side, which is where the vibration was coming from. Anyone know off hand what size that screw is, local autoparts store don't have any so its off to the hardware store. Help quick!!!

i took both mine off and i havent had any problems with the rotors vibrating. my brother took his off also. same answer no vibration

  13. Ok so I was just on my way home from a botty call, about 10 mins into the 30 min ride, Im driving down a smooth main road, cruise control set at 60mph and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on, a warning ding goes off like when your low on gas, and the dash says REDUCED POWER, the truck starts slowiing down, the RPM's are sitting at about 1200, I step on the gas and it only goes up to mabey 1400 RPM's. So I pull over very confused, take out a flashlight look under the hood, no smoke or leaks, I start it back up and its idling at 1100 to 1200 RPM's and no throttle reponse, so I shut it back off and pull the fuse panel, I didnt have any tools with me so I couldnt check the fuses but it killed about 5 mins, so I start the truck up and the throttle response is back to normal and the REDUCED POWER warning is gone, but the check engine light is still on, I shut the cruise control off and got it home and it seemed fine the rest of the way, all other gauges oil, temp, alternator were running normal. I will be getting it on the OBD scanner early in the afternoon but Im curious if anyone else has expierenced this or knows what it could be  ? Im not sure if this is the right section to post this but I'm, sure someone will tell me if its not

my 06 truck did that. when i plugged a code reader in it gave me the codes P2108, P1516, U0107. reduced engine power. (reprogram PCM). thats directly from the gm website. my friend is a mechanic at gm. i took it to the dealership and they reprogrammed my PCM under warranty. if not warranty its .4 hr labor labor operation # is J6353*. Hopefully this helps and you had the same thing go wrong with mine.

  14. actually just found a super deal on a lift about 10 miles from me going to look at a 10" lift tonight , has springs similar to deaver in the rear forgot the name but same thing.

just enough to clear 38's and ride nice and keep alignment and wear to a minumum.

after that its going to be a big ass tank and some amp research fold down running boards.

actually going to leave it alone and use it as i need since my daily is now an 04 -450 service truck.

are the leafs by chance nationals? and nice truck scared me a lil bit. your SS is sick.
