  1. Yeah, theres no garuntee if you wash your engine with water its going to Mess your knock sensors up, but why risk it? Unless you've got either 700 extra dollars you want to throw away, or 200 dollars in parts, and 6 hours labor by doing it yourself, i wouldnt chance it. If you Punch in Knock sensor failure for silverados, 90% of them is from washing the engine.
  2. Nice job man, win or not, im sure it was a lot of fun!
  3. Just read invoice, also replaced the wiring harness for the sensors.
  4. Well, i degreased my engine 3-4 weeks ago, since it was filthy from when i bought it. I used caution ( or atleast i thought i did ) Not being over excessive with water on the motor, only using what was needed to rinse off the degreaser. 2 days ago CEL popped up. Came up as PO332, which is Knock sensor, circuit low Input Bank 2. I cleared the code, it came back within 45 mins of driving, so i knew it wasnt just going to go away.... damn lol. I seem to Remember matt on the forum having this same problem, from washing his engine... and let me tell you, this is a spendy cleaning... They replaced both Knock sensors, and of course the gasket for intake, and charged me 4.5 hours labor..... 735 dollars later, ive got a sparkly clean engine. BE carefull when washing your engine, apparently, the water just sits on the top of the motor, runs down, and sits on top of the sensor, and shorts them out ( good chance anyway) its prolly well known by now, but i didnt know. When i told the mechanic my code, his first response was.... you didnt wash your engine you did you ? lol.... as a matter of fact.... Im really trying to laugh this F**k up off, but this really hurt the finances... oh well. I know there a lot of do it your selfers out there, but i just dont have time to pull a portion of the top of motor off, so im stuck getting bent over at the stealership. Off to the beer store.........
  5. Nice car man, i have loved the new mustangs since they came out with that new style back whenever it was, 2003 i think. The new 1's are even more gnarly. Hope she works out well for ya.
  6. i flew 4000 miles to get mine, and drove it back 4000 miles.... 6 hours is nothing. If you like it, go get it.
  7. City mileage for me has been between 13.5-14-2. Highway is anywhere from 16-17.5 depending on how fast im going
  8. Ok, those vents came out pretty damn easy... Thanks for the help Jake.
  9. Any tricks to removing the vents? Id like to remove mine, so i can clean them real good... its impossible to get all the dirty/dust out of all the fins
  10. Looks real good cmoney, congrats dude. Ill be sending him mine sometime soon aswell.
  11. Looks good man, and i can appreciate how clean your truck is, as i use my truck for work too. Its extra caution at times, and more routine cleaning to keep is spot on, but worth it. Very Nice mothers day gift aswell, im sure that made your moms face light up when it was done.
  12. The way i would check, easiest being shift points IMO. Get it on the high way, romp on it at 55 MPH, should kick down to second gear..... if it upshifts into 3rd gear at 70 MPH while full throttle, you are most likely stock.
  13. What kind of times do they run stock?
  14. Yeah, thinkin wheel bearings are pretty common issue with these trucks. Oh well, these trucks are money pits, but wouldnt trade this truck for anything.
  15. Alright, truck was fixed today, was Front left wheel bearing, and my ABS sensor got fubared up in the process, so that was the reason my anti locks were coming on for no reason when stopping. Thanks for those who helped with ideas.
  16. Welcome man, Lots of great Info, and some pretty good guys here.
  17. I preferred my silvers, gives the truck an more aggressive look. Chrome do look sharp though
  18. Having it towed in the morning, will let ya guys know what it is.... for future reference with people having similiar symptoms.
  19. Yeah, but wouldnt my steering wheel be shimmying if i had a bad wheel bearing? Hoping somebodywho had a bad CV Axle, or wheel bearing can chime in, with the symptoms
  20. Yeah, was thinking CV axles aswell, but the boots look fine... not sure what that means though hehe.
  21. I wanted to add, Theres no vibrations in the truck or steering wheel, Nor is it pulling to the left or right
  22. Well, driving to the dump today, i was listenin to my IPOD while driving, and kept feeling a pop kinda feeling, in the floorboards/ gas pedal.... i thought, ehh its prolly just the roads.. kept driving. On My way home from the dump, it got worse, i took off My ipod and sounds like its coming from driver side front end... Its kinda random, but it feels like a PING/pop sound, like somethings giving way. It sounds like metal too metal. Found it a bit odd, a couple times, when i would come to a stop, my antiblock brakes were coming on.... when i had plenty of dry road traction, slowly coming to a stop. I thought it might be my brakes? I pulled my front tires off, and everything looks fine? The PING/POP sound feel, is bad enough i dont wanna drive it. ANy idea what it might be? Thanks..
  23. Ive got my old stock bowtie you can have. PM me your address, ill ship it out sometime next week.
