  1. The brake lights are on a separate fuse from the third brake light, maybe check that first. Do the taillights and turn signals function normally?
  2. This is the motor that controls the recirculate door. on the top pass. side of the heater box. Should be able to get at it if you pop the dash cover off, and get the dash bracing out of the way.
  3. The vacuum booster m/c runs up hill, and the bottom of the tank is angled, the hydro one come straight out, and is flat across the bottom. I was just concerned this might cause some kind of a problem.
  4. I agree with rumrunner, I'd suspect a bum compressor(especially if it was a cheaper re-man) before I'd be thinking evaporator core. You have to take the seats/console/dash/heater box out to get to the evap core, so you'd better be sure that's the problem, before you start digging.
  5. Thanks guys!...I'll run it how it is.
  6. Just got done swapping the booster on my truck. I was under the impression you kept the stock master cylinder. But now its at a wierd angle. Is that a problem? Or no? Do I need to use a hydroboost m/c?
  7. I think theres a few hog rings across the back. One of the eBay sellers has a good YouTube video on how to do the swap. Rock auto has dorman heating elements for $72.
  8. Well, I did find what plugs into it. When I put the truck together I used an 04 light harness, thinking it would be the same. This past weekend, I swapped over to an 06 e-fan harness and there was a plug that went into this one. Still not sure what it does, but at least it plugged into something.
  9. Slide those black clips to the side, that should release them
  10. I think there is a 4th actuator way up on the top pass. side of the cowl that does the fresh air/recirculate
  11. The one on the left does defrost/vent/floor. The one on the top I think does drivers side hot/cold, and the bottom one does pass side hot/cold. What is yours doing or not doing?
  12. Theres one right above the gas pedal, one on the bottom of the heater box on the passenger side, and one on the top of the heater box they build the entire dash around.
  13. 1. Hoses will go right on 2. If you return it to the local monkey at Napa/Oreilly then yes, if its to someone like rockauto who actually looks to see whats in the box, then no.
  14. How about ones thats every color?
  15. Nope, that ones on the headlight harness. I feel like I should offer a prize for the winning answer.
  16. Not sure at all. The truck runs without it, can't be too important.
  17. Not that one either, that ones accounted for.
  18. Too short to reach the intake. its long enough to reach the front of the master cylinder or something coming out of the fuse box, but thats about it.
  19. Got my SS together enough to start it, and ended up with 1 plug I cant figure out where it goes. Its on the harness that connects the computer to the main fuse box. Its about 4" over from the plug that goes to the voltage regulator. Has two wires (blue/green) and the purple end on it. My 06 sierra doesn't have it, nor does my dads 05 4x4. Might be an 05 SS only thing?
  20. On the '04 and down trucks, its on the proportioning valve. You can see it in the 5th pic, toward the lower left. its the 2-wire plug. On the '05 up trucks, its on the master cylinder, and clips into that hole you can see daylight through.
  21. Sold a few months ago on Co-part insurance auction.
  22. The GM wheels will have a GM logo in the lug area, easy to spot a rep. The Dorman brand center caps have the squared off release holes, but have no logo in the center.
  23. Just for the record, your hazards are supposed to stop when you step on the brake. On the turn signals, as was said. The flasher is a good/cheap place to start.
  24. Are you getting good fluid at the rear calipers? Or fronts for that matter. Just wondering if there's air in the system and the rears are doing more braking then they're supposed too. On the brake light, is there anything aftermarket on the truck? Taillights, trailer brake controller, security system? Seems like something is back feeding the brake light circuit. I find most of my gremlins where aftermarket crap has been introduced into the system. If it was in the abs, the abs light will come on with the brake light.
  25. Looks like an '02 motor. Did the '02 LQ9 have egr?
