  1. Okay. Thanks. Yeah I almost forgot about that. Haha it'll be awhile before I start installing interior goodies though. Gotta get the powertrain ready to go first... I'm not rushing anything. Haha if anything I'm overthinking it. Gotta make sure it's perfect if I'm going to have a chance keeping up with you. Any chance I can borrow your vacuum plug kit? Gonna prep my tank for install this week.
  2. Gotta touch up the paint on the block during final assembly. It's getting beat up in that corner from trying all these different alternator strategies...
  3. EV6 pigtails came in for my FIC 1000s. Also ordered up that dirty dingo low mount alternator bracket and LS1 alternator. I found my old truck alternator (it looks rough), but it gave me an idea of the clearance ill have. The dirty dingo bracket mounts the alternator thru bolts directly to the block, rather than mounting the bracket to the block, then the alternator to the bracket. This pulls the alternator in a little over an inch. Also, the LS1 alt is a very small cased alternator (in pictures a few posts back). But just to get an idea, I mocked up my truck alt with the correct truck back spacing. If it looks a little too far back, its because it has a 6rib pulley on it. But I should have just enough clearance with the new bracket/alt combo. Worst case, I'll put a smaller bolt in the gear box on that corner, or do some grinding. Fingers crossed this works. This'll be the best option by far. I won't have to change a thing. Just throw my 8rib alt pulley on the new ls1 alt, and bolt it on. Probably even get away with using the same belt!
  4. Yeah. I should be done by now. Theres no excuse there. But had I known there was a difference between jackshaft 2300s... Lol. They all looked the same to me when I was in the market, so when I found a deal on one, I bought it.. Ill get it figured out though. I have no choice but to get er done.
  5. Maybe a low profile mount and a smaller cased alternator will clear... Hmm... I'll take some measurements tonight.
  6. Maybe Matt can chime in. He's done lots of crazy LS swaps. I'm sure he's run into clearance issues a hundred times. Lol. I hope it doesn't have to sit there too much longer. I think I should win an award for how long this has taken me.
  7. I just have to keep telling myself, "itll be awesome when its done". Haha. Seems like a lot of redundant work opposed to just slapping on a truck 2300 and calling it a day... But itll be one of a kind. That's for sure. Anyone else would have to be mad to take this route. But ill get there, and itll be putting down some serious numbers when its done Anyway, ill keep wrenching and keep you guys updated. Once the accessory drive is figured out, itll be smooth sailing.. It should go pretty quick once I work out the kinks.
  8. This kit SHOULD give me the throttle body clearance I need while getting the alternator clear of the steering gear.. This really is my last chance to making this Camaro blower work in my truck.. Its been a pain in the ass "trial and error" process.. Spent some money I didn't need to, and will have to spend more now in hopes of making this work. I need a corvette style P/S pump, truck style alternator, and of course, the bracket, hardware, mounts, etc, as well as a new belt now.. Oh, and a remote located power steering fluid reservoir, with custom pressure and return lines to the gear and cooler.....
  9. Well, im finally starting to make some progress again.. After taking a long break from working on the truck, its now crunch time. Gotta get going on this or it wont be ready for spring. While its -30 out, ive got the garage lit up with work lights and a space heater keeping the shop warm. Lately ive gutted all the EVAP/emissions crap, the old hard fuel lines and trans cooler lines, built my new fuel bucket, prepped the new fuel tank for install, and started wiring for the new fuel system.. This weekend the 85e and transfer case will be painted black. Going to order my new Precision Converter this afternoon and get it coming.. If all goes to plan, ill have all my fuel lines made and installed this weekend, and prepping for my 85e install the following weekend... The biggest hurdle will be the accessory drive...And heres why... Heres my engine.. (which is in the truck now.. Old pic) The TVS2300 is from a 2010+ Camaro, which has the same accessory drive spacing as GM trucks. Joe came up with the "hybrid drive" currently installed on my engine... The issue is... His drops nice and neat into his Trailblazer SS. While mine, being the first Silverado guinea pig to have tried this, found out that in this configuration, the alternator hits the steering gear on the inside of the drivers side frame.... So, we've played around with the idea of lifting the engine 1.5" or so to clear the alternator of the steering gear... Well, I run out of tunnel space for the trans, my drive angle will be all wrong, my exhaust no longer lines up... So I thought, well maybe ill just throw the truck alternator and power steering bracket back on... I've seen Shawn, Angrygreg, Eddie, and a few others run jackshaft blowers with truck accessories... Well, with my blower, you can't. If you look at theirs, their head unit sits higher than the jackshaft, and therefore, can install the throttle body the correct way facing the passenger side, and have the truck accessories on the drivers side. But with my style Camaro blower, the throttle body needs to be installed where the actuator is on the drivers side, rather than the passenger side, to clear the supercharger jackshaft... And the throttle body actuator wont clear the alternator in the truck configuration.... So.. now what.. I either try to relocate the steering gear, and have to deal with a custom steering shaft and other head aches... Or I relocate the alternator.. I found this kit by Holley. Its meant for LS3 (or any LS swap) into older model vehicles with steering gears. Come to find out, im not the first to have this issue. Holley produced a bracket to relocate the alternator to the top by the power steering pump.. (few more pics and a video of how it works) http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Holley-20-135-Drivers-Side-P-S-and-Alternator-LS-Acc-Drive-Bracket-Kit,65093.html
  10. The old 340lph pump... Next to the new dual walbro 400s (again don't mind the wires. They are being re-done. The primary pump and sending unit will be wired to factory plug and activated with hotwire kit. The second pump will have one wire coming through the top and powered by a 2psi hobbs switch)
  11. Little update.. I got some more parts in this past weekend... 80e flexplate Phantom 2 wideband to match the other gauges... This will get rid of that little box on the dash. I have a new triple gauge pod in the passenger seat waiting to go in. New heat exchanger And of course, it wouldn't be a hotrod build without fuzzy dice. Also got the old fuel tank out... (don't mind the wires)
  12. Ive got a set for sale. Brand new in box, front and rears with hardware. Decided to go another direction. PM me if interested.
  13. This. As well as looking great, I'm sure it'll save a bit of weight. Between ditching the bumper, gutting all the evap stuff, and changing the torsion set up to coil overs... I wouldn't be surprised to drop 150lbs or more. Anxious to see how these turn out. Better than all the other roll pan/custom hood threads I hope.
  14. WTF... Full sunlight in February?!?! Lol! Its like -40 here! Trucks look incredible! Ill be ordering up some Adams once mines back on the road. Seems like real good stuff.
  15. Thatta boy. So, for better clarification, these studs... If they come attached, they'll be glassed into the roll pan? And if they come unattached, they'll have plates that slide into a channel in the roll pan to attach? My understanding, you'll need these studs anyway to stable the roll pan right? Especially, If you plan on shaving the cladding corners into the roll pan. You'll need it to be very sturdy or it'll crack. So I would think these would be mandatory.
  16. May be interested. A buddy just got his on and I'm all sorts of jelly. Will have to see how this goes. What price range are we looking at?
  17. You remember correctly. I know. I suck... I've been letting it collect dust. I'll bring tools home from work every weekend, and maybe wrench for an hour or two. It's pathetic. I've got all these parts stacked up and I'm not getting much done. BUT, I'm dedicating tomorrow to my truck, and nothing's gonna stop me.
  18. Hell yeah. If I come to l Florida, I'll take john to lunch and we'll have to figure something out. See if he needs someone to sweep his floors.
  19. Yeah. I got a nice mount from justin for my 40k. It was from a group buy years ago. It bolts to where the tow hooks would go and holds it right behind the bumper. I gotta mock it all up yet and see if it fits. Justin also had some 10" fans laying around I really wish would have worked, but they are a bit too tall for the fluidyne. Guess I could put them on the 40k, but would probably be overkill. Yeah randy. If you're concerned about the width of a bigger cooler, you could run a second one behind the bumper.. It works. Just gotta get creative with it. I can get better pics of my mounts when I take them off if you want. I'm giving them to Harley for his 112 set up. I have so much I could be doing right now. haha lots of new parts showed up this morning, but I'm being lazy. I'll be in the shop all day tomorrow though. I'll take some pics for my build thread. Haven't updated it in months. Thanks Eddie! Sup Matt! Haven't heard from you in a bit! Can't wait to cruise this summer! Gonna try to make the Kool Cruise in may. Justin's truck should be done as well. And Harley's looks awesome. So jealous. Lol. All his fresh paint... Lucky
  20. Well, no. You're not. But maybe you should go back. They'll show you how to use correct punctuation and sentence structure so that others know when you are making a statement or asking a question.. I didn't mean to start a pissing match.. I thought you were making a false statement and wanted to clarify that it was not true. Quit being so quick to snap back and start an argument right away.
  21. Haha yeah. Ive always been a fan of the cold actually.... Just because you can always put more clothes on, but you can only take so much off... But, im tired of the -50* and all the darkness.. Im ready for some sun! Lol.
  22. Heres the first H/E The second is on a bracket below it, angled slightly so it catches all the air from the bumper vent And just plumb the hose from the icebox to pump, then to the blower, then into H/E 1, out of H/E1 and into H/E2, then out of H/E2 back to icebox.... BUT, IMO, itd be much less hassle, and much cleaner up front to get a single badass H/E, rather than two mediocre ones... Heres the new one.. Its going to work as good, if not better than 2 of the stock style H/Es. I believe they were advertising this as a triple chambered H/E. This, with 2 8" E-fans, should definitely do the trick. Plus, with adding a 40k trans cooler, ill need all the room up front I can get. Much easier to run this than take up all that room w/ 2 heat exchangers.. But idk. Just my opinion.
  23. Ah. My bad. Thought it was a statement. I didn't see a question mark.
