  1. I've seen this truck before.... Who's was it?! I remember the back end and the B&M conversion. He's also got Steves instrument cluster.

Wow... That's impressive! And I thought my Fluidyne was big. Haha. That thing is awesome! Looks like a great plug and play kit too! Harness and controller, temp sensor, everything. Very nice. I'm jealous. Does the harness also control the pump? Or do you need to wire that to your fuel pump relay trigger?
  3. Its funny how theres hardly a single picture where someone isn't sneaking a middle finger in somewhere. I wish I would have taped off and painted my engine compartment like Brian did before I got too far ahead. Ive got lots of scratches on my firewall from all the time ive had to yank motors. Haha. Probably just go through with touch up paint pen and hide it best I can. I didn't get a whole lot done last night. Going to send that converter back at lunch so they can send me the new one. Cant wait to get that trans in. Tonight ill finish up my fuel lines. Gotta build lines from the Y block to the rails, then rails to the fuel pressure regulator. Just hope I have enough fuel line left. I ordered more -6, but it looks like a different brand. It would drive me nuts if the lines didn't look the same. So ill just end up using it for trans cooler lines or something..
  4. Ill have to read through your Camaro build thread and get caught up. I still go back and look at your SSS build thread. Its probably the cleanest build I've ever seen. All that polished aluminum... I should have bought it when it was for sale.
  5. DAMN THEIVES! Hope you find a nice replacement. Sorry to hear the bad news.
  6. Haha yeah. I tried this with Justin's. I told him to look up Justin's build. That's exactly what I need, only 2800 Multi 10.5. But he's just gonna wing it. I'm sure he'll get it right this time.... I hope.
  7. Lol! You'll see all these ricers with no common sense thinking "for racing applications only? YUP! That's me!" Then trashing their car wondering WTF happened. Lol! There should be a second station for such fuels. But oh well, it'll be interesting to watch.
  8. I still can't get over how good that truck looks. Those rims are ( . )( . )
  9. Jack got me all taken care of. Emailed me a return shipping label for the old converter and is sending me the new one
  10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SILVER-LS-1-CUSTOM-CHEVY-CAMARO-FUEL-RAILS-BRAND-NEW-LS1-GM-/121276618769?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3ca65811 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aeromotive-Fuel-Rails-Platinum-Series-Billet-Aluminum-Polished-Ford-Pair-/331484238403?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d2e001243 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-LS6-6AN-high-flow-POLISHED-fuel-rails-w-fittings-nylon-hose-hardware-/131426751937?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e99a515c1 If you prefer not to use ebay, you can get them from Aeromotive directly, but they're more $$$. I like the looks of the 1st or 3rd option w/o the grooves in the side. Idk. Just a thought.
  11. Yeah... They probably don't like me very much right now. lol. I wouldn't be surprised if my next converter had a hand grenade in it. I'm stirring up all sorts of crap with jack right now. Lol! But I mean, they should have this down by now... He's still not 100% sure what he's sending me is what I need.. I've dealt with Precision in the past and they've been phenomenal. If jack is the manager, I think he needs to stay off the sales floor and let his employees do their job. He's just screwing things up and making things more difficult.
  12. Hmm... Ill see what I can find with a quick search. What intake is on it? LS3/L99?
  13. Lol. Yeah. Im sure there are other good alternatives.. But this ones paid for. Check out their site. Quite impressive the differences between their converters and other brands... Of course, im sure the welds on your FTI were cleaner than this one. Haha. Ill see what this new one looks like...
  14. Jack hooked me up! He sent a return shipping label and is getting the correct one built right away
  15. I only got a mere $1900... But beats paying!
  16. Hahaha oh great... Well ill be just be persistent until I get what I want. He should have to remake mine anyway... Look at the welds! Miss the hub entirely in 2 spots. Not work id expect when you're dealing with the most expensive converters in the industry.
  17. They are actually from Magnuson. The factory rails come with the ugly regulator on the side, which I didn't need. So I bought a bare passenger side rail for the drivers side to match the bare passenger side rail. The passenger side rail for this model has to be clearanced for the rear cogs. I can take a pic tonight. They were a plain rushed aluminum, but polished up nicely. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Jack has been giving me the runaround this morning. Hes like "well I cant correct this without building an entirely new converter"... Im like, well, do what you gotta do cuz this POS isn't going to work. Lol. I told them they should have this down by now. Im not the first, nor will I be the last to order a converter for this application. I told them maybe they should make a note in their system for this application. Im the 4th person this has happened to, and that's just the people I know!! If he gives me attitude, ill call and talk to the manager. I cant afford to buy another converter to fix their mistake. Hell, Justin ordered his and got this same converter the first time. And Vicky sent him the correct one 2nd day air, no questions asked... Why do I have to get stuck with the ****!
  18. Played hookie today from work cuz its my birthday. Nothing better than getting to work on the truck all day. Would have gotten more done if the garage didn't flood though.. Had to spend some time chipping ice to redirect the flow of water so it wasn't creeping under the garage door. Anyway, was able to gut all the fuel lines and evap shit. Empty frame rail... Gonna have to do some rust repair once I get it on the lift... Its a little worse than I thought. Found a chunk of the stock block I blew up a few years ago tucked inside the frame rail Picked up some aluminum jaws for the vise and started building my fuel lines.. Supply line w/ inline filter Top of the bucket... The yellow cap was just to keep dirt out. Itll become my vent port for the tank, as its already a check valve. It should be perfect. The red wire is the power wire for the second pump. Ill be making my own relay harness to power the second pump to save $200. And that open valve to the right plugs into the filler neck for venting the tank when filling up at the pump. Very important to make sure you vent the tank properly. You'll hate yourself when the pump keeps kicking off before the tanks is full. Found a evap clip that will work great. Just gotta run a line up to vent by the filler neck. Gonna get a little in-line fuel filter to help with the smell of fuel when its parked. Hung the new tank Started routing the fuel lines Using zipties to hold them for now. Going to get some nice hose brackets for a more permanent solution. Just getting the lines built, Installed the new filler neck Threw on the flexplate while I was under the truck And not much after I was done torqueing the last bolt, UPS showed up with my converter... Except... IT WAS THE WRONG ONE!!! I specified I needed a 6 bolt 4L80 converter, and told them it was an 03 SS with an 80 swap. Im sure im not the first person that's ever gotten a converter for this application.. Haha infact, Justin went down the same road when he ordered his. His was also wrong the first time. This must be for an LS1 or something. It wont pilot in the back of the crank. The flexplate just suspends it away from the block.. Sorry. Haha. I was a little irritated to find it was wrong. I was looking forward to installing the trans this next weekend.. oh well. Precision has always been great. Top notch product with great customer service. Im sure they get it straightened out. Since I wasn't doing a trans install, I put my attention towards the engine compartment. Finished buttoning up the accessory drive. New alternator installed, with my custom steering gear bolt. Its got more clearance than it appears. Bad pic. Also put on the HD tensioner brace. Just a dinky little bracket Joe supplied with his hybrid drive kit. Installed my polished fuel rails, 1000cc injectors, and polished throttle body Its finally starting to look like an engine. Gonna stay busy and finish up my fuel system. Gotta find a nice spot for the fuel pressure regulator and build the lines for under the hood.. Also gotta find a spot for the Y block... Might bolt it to the back of the drivers side head.. Idk. We'll see. Ill be back with more updates...
  19. Pretty neat! Let me know if you find one of those posters
  20. This post is 5 years old so....
  21. HOLY SHIT STEVE?!?! Hahaha. That truck looks incredible! And now a turbo? Goddamn!!
  22. How is your brake pad contact? Do you have 1/4 of the pad hanging off? Or did you get it to work?
