    Track setup

Not too much traction issues I have around a 2.1 60ft I'm gonna assume that's not bad for street tires with no converter and now power lol

    Track setup

Test and tune is tomorrow, gonna run street tires cus well that's all I have... I'm curious what tire pressures you guys run (i usually run 20) and do you guys load your converter when launching or just burry the pedal off idle ? I have a stock converter btw.... Sorry guys I posted this on my phone and for some reason it went here if someone could move it? It won't allow me too
  3. this storm was terrible. my moms house is 15 min outside Atlantic City and 15 outside Ocean City, where i grew up. Her house was fine (on high ground, farmland) but everyone i went to school with have no power and houses are still under water. I feel horrible that i cant go home and help. If i was still in NJ not on orders id be up there to lend ya a hand. Sorry to hear and good luck with everything...
  4. Justin is a great guy to deal with. I had a tune scheduled with him in Charlotte last weekend on Saturday. Well something came up and I had to reschedule my time slot due to the wife working and having to watch the baby. Very quick response and new time slot the next day. I drove 3 hrs to meet with him and have this done. Not only did he point out some things I should change or correct on my truck (vacuum wise) he also took care of me and supplied me with a nice military discount. The tune is top notch and there are no more dead spots in my trucks power band. It shifts very smooth and firm and throttle response has greatly improved. Hopefully ill have track times this weekend to show before and affter results but the truck feels much quicker. I recommend black bear to anyone who has a chance to have him work on your vehicle. Thanks Justin!
  5. mine did something very similar to this. i changed the cig lighter fuse and read the codes. it read that the MAF sensor wasnt reading correctly because of the tb wasnt reading correctly which caused set off the t/c module. i cleared the codes about 2 weeks ago and they never came back...?
  6. i have no idea why it weighs that. ill have to find the slip its laying around somewhere. only weight reduction i had at that time was the spare tire and jack and all that removed, it had no fuel in it tho. only enough to make it to the gas station a couple miles down the road. I was told from another member on here that its what they call a 3SS ? no leather, no center console, basic cd player, no steering wheel controls, no power or heated seats. Nothing other than the SS cluster and emblem on the dash inside. I think when i do my cam swap im gonna run the circle D 3200. it has a lot of good reviews and happy customers. I started this thread to see if anyone has had experience with them just to see if it was an option. It still is, but i really like that circle D
  7. +1 i love the oh it doesnt have a 454? then its slow and my hemi truck will smoke you... does anyone actually know how slow the 454ss was? its so annoying. you should have to show your vin # to even buy the SS emblems to keep imposters away
  8. thats where im at. i aprreciate the knowledge as most will not help or even give an opinion on choosing parts. im just trying to take it all in and absorb it. wish i could just have someone spec me a whole package so i can gather parts... seems like ill be there very soon with all the replies
  9. This is why I asked to get valuable information. To me it didn't seem that big but then again to others it does. I really need something to drive everyday and still have my wife be able to drive my truck without complaining too much. Make good power and be able to toss some heads on later down the road. This got way off topic from the converter lol but steer me the right way. Btw my truck weighs 4180 with me in it and I have the weight slip to prove that one. I also am 2wd and have 373s. Trying to buy once but iv just been gathering info. Everything is scattered and everyone will choose a package for a different reason. It's so damn confusing with so many options.
  10. It's close enough of an example. I haven't found anyone who's put one in a truck yet. Plus I wasn't asking about the stock converter I was asking about the reworked yank. Just being a hot rodder .... Trying to research different things instead of just picking up a catalog and ordering parts. I can't let my checkbook do the talking. Kid comes first..
  11. I know of a guy who runs it in his a4 gto with no converter and manifolds and has no issues with drive ability. Yes there's a lot left on the table obviously but still produces good drive ability and decent numbers for cam only
  12. It's not a crazy stick and makes proven numbers. You can run it on a stock converter even tho i wont be using one. havent purchased it yet but it's a likely choice. My old tuner designed it, but I'm always open to suggestions.
  13. i like that circle D stage 2 3000-3200 stall.... i like the price too. anyone running one on here?
  14. nssp cam which is what i was leaning more towards : 230/232 .614 .602 114 nssp cam which is what i was leaning more towards : 230/232 .614 .602 114
  15. well good thing i dont plan on using a radix. and i was mainly looking for info on the restalled tbi6 converter. 3100 would be the stall of it. There is no way im spending $700+ on a converter. Iv been researching this on all the other forums and it seems like the best bang for the buck.
  16. has anyone used one of these in their truck? results? i have read that yank and circle d will rework one of these units from the stock stall speed of 2600 to 3100 ... i know yank does it for $250. anyone have any experience with a stock TB verter or a reworked one. for the price you cant beat it, and they say it will tow great and drive like a stock converter until "you get on it"... thoughts and opinions? im well aware that it needs to be matched to a cam, either a NSSP cam or 228.. trying to properly pre-plan
  17. r u from washington twp? or is there an actual washington, nj? im originally from nj
  18. why not just get a regular obdII scanner from autozone? that will do what your looking for. If your looking at changing engine parameters and so-forth, HPTuners why not just get a regular obdII scanner from autozone? that will do what your looking for. 19. i think its do-able.... timeslips will prove this as well. i should have my tune in october as long as the meet doesnt get cancelled. (BlackBear) and im cai, magnaflow, and a 160 t stat at the moment (14.6) two weeks ago. ill post up slips after i get tuned to see how much changed.
  20. welcome... originally from NJ myself just outside Ocean City..
  21. I'll try and Get some pics in the next couple days. The seat is in nj so I gotta get someone up there to take em...
